  1. The weather does fluctuate down here, but even if it is a cold snap it won't last as long as most places. The chance of afternoon thunderstorms are less likely in the winter seeing as it is typically our dry season.

I have cruised to the Caribbean during Christmas and it was warm and sunny on the islands. Loved seeing the decorations on the ship and the ports.

  2. I didn't see it for my cruise a few weeks ago on the Legend. I kept looking for it, too. We had the email saying to look for it in the Fun Times, but still didn't see it.

  3. I had FTTF for my 6/14 Legend. I believe boarding started either at 10:30 or almost 11. Things were not crowded and it moved very fast. Same with the dreaded last day. Customs was just a man standing by the door asking if we had a great cruise as he looked at our passports and waved us on.

One of my best cruises EVER, by the way. We had amazing weather. Don't over pack, things are real casual and we wore jeans and sneakers to dinner most nights, as did everyone else. Even formal night was less formal than most other Carnival cruises.

  4. thank you for amping up my excitation, have never done Alaska and our newly married son and new in laws chose this cruise as something new. MY dh is dragging heels with idea but any cruise is a good cruise. Never recalling seeing an eagle or whale in naturaual habitat excited for July 26.

1.)How hard is it to meet up at embarkation pier first morning to board together? We have platinum status, and just purchased FTTF that opened up for other two families. What time did you board? or do you know what time boarding started? Their FTTF states 11am-12.

thanks for posting so far, even knowing the revised Victoria dinner times helps. hope you can scan in Fun Times. (Formerly known is Cruise Capers smile)

2.)We are signed up for the Tracy Fjord excursion- in your opinion will a layered shirt, fleece jacket and rain coat, gloves, hat, hiking boots be enough for warmth? or I can pack more...

I am currently on the Legend waiting for the sail away. They started letting people on around 11:30. There seemed to be less of a crowd to get on than on Caribbean cruises. I think it is going to be cold for this Florida girl. Hope my layers will be enough.

  5. I am going in 27 days, so very interested in this thread. Due to the amount of money needed for excursions we are not doing a balcony for the first time in years. We have one of the French door interiors between two lifeboats. I really hope I don't regret no balcony. It is just me and my 13 yr old daughter seeing as husband hates flying, cruising and the cold. On the plus, I have always wanted to try one of these rooms.

  6. How long does it take you to find out if you are on the Tracy Fjord excursion through ship? Do they email you? I sent the email request today for a just booked summer Alaska cruise on Legend (shortest time I've booked a cruise before- normalally its a year out. Soi am worried that the ships Tracy Fjord excursion through ship would be sold out, it just stated limited available on excursion section.

It took me about four days. I was getting worried because it said there was only one ticket left and everything I read said it took only a day to hear back.

  7. My husband hates cruising but my 13 yr old daughter loves cruising. We started cruising alone three years ago and have had a blast. We are doing an 8 day cruise on the Sunshine this March and a 7 day to Alaska in June on the Legend. She is shy but always ends up making friends. We have a rule that breakfast and dinner are together and obviously we hang out in the ports. Usually we spend most of the day together and in the evening she will watch the movies with friends or hang out in the game room. We have always done 5 days or longer.

We have never felt unsafe while in port. We have done ship excursions and often chose private excursions or exploring on our own. Never have I felt uncomfortable traveling alone.

  8. So we booked a 1:40 return on July2 home by 3:50

But a few of us are still worried about making that flight on time, so there is a 2nd option at 4:25 with a layover then home by 8:50

So once again,,,July 2 travel leaving Orlando (MCO) getting from Port Canaveral from the Magic

Do you think we can make a 1:40pm flight? Or should we change to the 4:25layover flight?

Please give your honest feedback, I'm really not sure what to do. IF we can make it in time we prefer the 1:40pm flight.

    THANKS

You should be fine. I live near the airport, take my time leaving and make it home before 11 every time.

  9. I have to agree with the OP. I just got off the Victory and was not as impressed as I usually am after a carnival cruise. It seemed tired and outdated. The staff was friendly, but the overall feeling was underwhelming as opposed to the awesome times on other ships.

  10. Went on her for spring break and loved it! We had anytime dining and never had a wait. I avoided the lido human soup pool, but did go up to the serenity deck several times. Pool was nice to sit on the edge, and there were plenty of loungers. I did notice congestion going into the dining area on lido near the Guy's Burgers and Blue Iguana, but avoided it by going around the normal path or entering the food area through the back stairs. We were on deck 8 and would just walked down the hall to the back stairs and avoided the pool area congestion.

  11. I realize it doesn't take much to ask the neighbors on either side of your cabin, but what about the neighbors above and below? I realize the OP is hoping for a resounding yes, play away, but truthfully the correct thing is to use headphones. Most people seem to enjoy the sounds of the ocean on their balcony. If I want music I will go to the lido deck.

  12. Sailed on her for spring break and enjoyed myself. There definitely are some crowded areas, but you just learned to go around them or avoid them. For example, near Guy's there was a narrow walkway toward the back, but we found it easy to just go around by the tables along the sides and had no delays. We did anytime dining and had no wait for a table of two, no matter when we went. The sign in was near the taste bar and I was disappointed there was never enough wait time to enjoy the taste bar offerings!

  13. Just went over spring break. They just looked inside the twelve pack to make sure I wasn't smuggling. I noticed they shook people's water bottles to check for bubbles.
