Just went to one of my booked cruises and did a test.

After adding a tour to my cart, I went to the cart to pay.

Click on the small icon for the cart

Then click on the Pay Now icon from the drop down

Page should scroll down to another Pay Now Icon.

Click on the Pay Now Icon

You will get a display with text like this

    Reservations in Cart $79.95
    Previously Made Reservations $99.95
    Onboard credits applied -$79.95
    Show Credits
    Subtotal $0.00
    Total Balance Due$0.00
    Apply Credit

Make sure the Onboard Credit applied box is checked. (should be default)

Then just click on Apply Credit.

I'll try this weekend.  We went to Australia in February and don't remember the icon when we booked a couple excursions. I just may have overlooked it. I really prefer booking privately but with the extra SBC I will book an excursion or two.....we can only buy so many buckets of beer!  Our gratuities are paid this next cruise and it's a 14 day cruise.  Thanks for looking.

I just called Princess and had them apply the OBC to our excursions.  Very easy

The last few times I've booked excursions prior to sailing, I've had to pre-pay.  I'll figure this out with everyone's help!

  3. I am sure there are several posts regarding this but I don't seem to be able to find them.

Question about OBC and booking excursions. We will have a significant amount of OBC for our next cruise. We want to book excursions prior to sailing but I don't believe we can use this OBC toward the purchase. Do you suggest going to the tour office and cancelling and then rebooking once on board? I would be afraid that we would go to the bottom of the list if we did that. What do you suggest? We will not have to pay for gratuities this cruise (got a deal) and because we have military, Carnival stock , Princess credit card etc......we will have a considerable amount. Not a bad thing at all. We would like to put it toward some excursions if possible.

we just used super shuttle. they line up outside the terminal, BLUE VANS give them your reservation number and name. they pull out when the van is full. about 8 people. we prepaid included tip. About $40 for two all in. we got there at 10:30 on a Saturday and were at the airport by 11:00. Allow more time for weekdays. Have done it before will do it again.

Do you need a reservation or can I just do walk-off and head that way and pay?

  5. I am a pharmacist and have been asked this on multiple occasions.  The only thing that Sulfa and Sulfur have common is "Sulf".  You're good to go......unless you can't tolerate the smell that sometimes is associated with sulfur.  Hope the explanation below helps.

Sulfur (chemical symbol: S) is a naturally occurring non-metallic element that comprises 0.25% of the human body. It is the 8th most prevalent element in the body. (A) Sulfur is an essential mineral, meaning that the body MUST have it.  There is no such thing as a sulfur allergy, just as there is no such thing as an allergy to oxygen , carbon or calcium, all of which also occur in the human body in high amounts.

Sulfa drugs (sulfonamide class of antibiotics),  Allergies and other reactions are from the sulfonamine molecule .The sulfur atom is NOT the allergenic agent and being allergic to sulfa drugs does NOT imply having an allergy to sulfur.

    Sulfa antibiotics include Septra®, Bactrim® and Pediazole®.

  6. Having done this trip numerous times, I agree with the conventional wisdom that to best way to get over jet lag is to stay active all day until at least 8pm. So leave your bags at the hotel and start walking! Do not take any afternoon naps or you will be awake all night. Go to bed around 8 - 9 pm and you should awake at a good time the next morning and be fairly well-rested.

Ha! That's the same thoughts I used when I worked some night shifts at the hospital. Stay up and move so you can sleep that night!

  7. We've booked with EZAir for years, it depends on which airline whether you can book your seats through Princess or not. When we find a flight we like, we then go to the airlines site and do a mock booking and see what seats are available. If there are seats available that we like, we call Princess and pay only for the air portion of our cruise, then you can go to the airlines site and book your seats. So far we've not had a problem doing this Of course once you pay for your air tickets they become restricted and you can't make a change unless you pay a charge. As an example, our cruise isn't until September but we wanted to book our seats now so we could get comfort seats so we called Princess and paid for just our air only, they put us on hold and contacted the airline and in just a few minutes we were ticketed and we were able to go to the airline's site and book our seats. We also upgraded to comfort seats and paid the difference to the airline. We'll pay for the rest of the cruise when it's due in June. Hope this helps. :):)

Thank you! This is exactly what I wanted to hear. We just want to pay for air only right now to get seats and then we will pay for the cruise when it is due.

  8. Last fall we used Princess EZAir for a flight to London from Atlanta and received miles based on miles flown. After our cruise we bought our tickets from Delta for our flight from Dubai to Atlanta (and did not buy Princess EZAir tickets) and received miles based on ticket price. As long as I get some benefit I'm happy.

We just booked Princess EZAir to Australia (from STL). I called AA and they did not know if we would get them, but took our FF numbers anyway.

That's a long trip to not get any miles! I wish there was some way to find out.

  9. We have decided that we will go ahead and pay, in order to get seat assignment. When we do, the airfare is non-refundable. And yes, unfortunately we have economy seats, not being independently wealthy.n We will just have to "suck it up" for the long flight and I don't want to be stuck in a middle seat somewhere unless my husband is on the aisle.

Do you also know if you book thru Princess, can you still get your miles thru American? They (AA) put our FF numbers in when I called them, but the agent didn't know the answer.

  10. Just booked air thru Princess to Australia in January, 2019. Went thru the whole booking process with seat assignments only to be told at the end of the booking that I needed to contact AA for seat assignments. I called AA with my flight information only to be told that because the reservation wasn't ticketed, a seat could not be assigned. We did the flex reservations where we could cancel or change the flight with no penalty but I don't want to be randomly assigned a seat for such a long flight. That is one of the reasons we are booking early. Anyone else have any suggestions (other than cancelling and going thru AA which is what we might have to do)?

  11. We booked Butler Bus Tours for a tour the day we were in Cobh. One stop was the Blarney Castle but the lines were sooooo long from the cruise ship that we opted to go to Blarney Woolen Mills and then to a small pub. Best choice that day.

We then returned a year later doing a self drive tour and went back to the Blarney Castle when a cruise ship was not in port to kiss the stone. . Much nicer.

Would use Butler Bus Tours again if I needed to.

  12. After hearing good reports about Smiths, I contacted them for a quote. We will be coming in at 2245 on a Thursday and need transportation from LHR to Hampton Waterloo. The quote I received, I felt was pricey, so I contacted them again and said maybe I didn't fill out the form correctly. No, the below is the price for 3 adults. Am I wrong thinking this is more than what it should be? Is it because it is a late night pick-up?

Hi, the cost would be £80 plus £7 parking fee and £11.50 congestion charge

  13. Update....got my points posted on 6/30. This was exactly 30 days after the initial charge so I was able to get $500 OBC for my September cruise. But, I am still waiting on another 625 to be doubled from 6/9. Not sure what is going on but I am going to keep this card for 1 more cruise that I have booked after the September cruise and then I will seriously consider getting rid of it.

I have used the same TA for all my past cruises when using the Princess Visa and never had a problem until this cruise. All I could do was wait it out because they(Barclay Card) were not going to budge adding those points. I called twice and also send a message via the website.

  14. My points for the 1st transaction doubled yesterday (approximately 30 days after the original Princess purchase) YAY, RAH, WHOOPEE and all that jazz. However the purchase, when I upgraded to a premium balcony, on 6/9/17 did not. Both point purchases were being questioned. I will wait until 7/9/17 to see if this purchase doubles and if not call them and message them again.

However.....do not call 1-866-872-6248 which is the Princess Visa rewards number to ask questions about redeeming OBC. I spent 15 minutes trying to explain that I did not want to apply it to a cruise purchase. I just wanted to make sure I was filling the out the form correctly regarding delivery date for the OBC. I am still not sure I did it correctly. Bless the agents heart......she had absolutely no clue what I was asking. I believe we were were not both speaking the same language.

  15. I did it once, 3 years ago with no problem. This time I am taking the smaller Black Box that I can only get at the local gas station :D. If they confiscate it, they can have it. I am putting it in my checked luggage. Again, if they find it, they can have it!

  16. I am dealing with Barclay Card as I type. I did not get double points for my Princess Cruise and have called the case service manager twice and have posted a complaint on Barclay card. I have a case number and they can see that I talked to Sierra on 6/9 and today I spoke with Stacy (not very friendly)

This is not the first time I have redeemed points but this is the first time I have had a problem with points posting. If anyone has any other suggestions I am open to it as I feel that if I get short with the service rep on the phone, I will never see my points.

I have called 866-928-3106 and 866-872-6248 (no help what-so-ever) and the email.

  17. Well, I just called customer service after 2 weeks to check to see why my points hadn't been doubled yet and I was pretty much "blown" off. The service rep told me that I would get my OBC by Sept 2, when I cruise. They were "working" on it. When I asked HOW? I got no response. So I said, "I guess my only option at this time is to be patient because the ball is in your court".

I was told to check back by the 1st of August, then she said the middle of July.

I am beyond aggravated. I have gotten credit immediately with several past cruise purchases. Unsure what to do because I feel that I may not get my $500 (I am 4000 short of 40,000). Does anyone have any suggestions besides "wait"? I called 866-928-3106. I am afraid if I get snippy they may do nothing and I am screwed.
