  1. I logged in and did all 3 of us at midnight (12am) on day 21.  Word of warning.  double check that your email is confirmed. This tied me up as it took me a while to realize what wasn't completing.  Also you need to watch the video each time for each check-in and you can't pause or fast forward. Otherwise it doesn't count and you have to watch it again.  Due to my missing my email confirmation, My husband is at 9am and son and I are at 9:30am.   We will all just go with Hubby at 9am as we are all in the same cabin.

  2. Sailing in June.  My husband and I currently have 3 specialty restaurants apiece.  We will be traveling with our son, who currently does not have any specialty dining credits. We would like to try 4 different specialty restaurants.  This would basically mean using 12 "credits" total for all 3 of us to dine.   If I purchase a 6 meal package for my son,,, could we use 3 of his "credits" towards meals for my husband and myself?  I hope this makes sense the way I presented the question and thanks for the help!

  3. Others may have had a different experience.  I spoke to many people at ATT including the international plan people.  I chose the day pass plan for $10/per phone.  We ended up with a bill over $200 in about 1 hr because we used it while docked but still on the ship on the balcony.  This was after being assured by mult people at ATT it would work on the ship as long as we were docked.  All settings were correct.  We were on the phone with ATT for 1 hr and finally just used it when we were on land our 1 beach day.  Took us 2 mos to fight to get the charges removed.  Not worth the worry.  Worked fine on land but wouldn't plan anything for on board the ship.

  4. Weston Waterfront, Seaport Hotel, Element Hotel,  Aloft, Renissance Waterfront.  All very nice hotels, but be aware you will be paying pretty high cost to be in Boston near the seaport.  Nothing "reasonable" that close but nice for a one night splurge befor your trip.

  5. Also be careful when you are In port but still on the ship. We did the day plan and it worked fine be we had to be about 50 yds away from the ship for it to kick in.  We noticed the problem the first day about 1 hr after we docked.  Called ATT on the phone immediately and was on with them for an hour.  Although multiple people before the cruise assured me that as long as we were docked, I could use on the ship.. .that was not the case and we had a high bill. Took 2 months fighting it but they finally dropped the extra charges.  After that first day only used when we were on land but was really nice to have at the beach.

  6. Le Bistro, the Sole Grenoblase, not sure on spelling, but it was basically a Whitefish Picatta and it was the best thing I ate all week.  The restaurant was fantastic, service the best.  My son finished his Escargot and they asked if he would like another serving as he liked them so much.  Can't wait to go back next fall.

  7. No age limit for Howl at the Moon for any time, but they will warn you when the "adult" portion of the show is starting.  Up to you if your kids stay.  I saw fairly young kids there at 11:30 and later.  You just can't complain if they hear something you don't like as the later times can get raunchy and they did warn you.

  8. Ok my crusing friends... I have a couple of questions. I am looking into the possibility of taking my son and his best friend on a cruise when they Graduate H.S. in 2020. Yes, I am a planner. With the boys being 18, I don't think I am comfortable with my husband and I sharing a room so looking into maybe doing Balcony for DH and myself with Close Inside for the boys. I know that as they are 18 I would book Myself and son in one \room and DH and friend in the other. Just get extra keys.

Couple of questions. One dumb one. As the other kid will be 18, I assume that this means that I do not need any type of parental permission letter. Also, If the "extra" that I choose is the unlimited Drink package in both rooms, I know that the first two people in the room get the extra. If I am willing to sign the waiver for my son (I know I can't sign for the other child) will they allow that extra to be changed from the soda package to the wine/beer package for my son or would I have to pay for that?

I hope this question makes sense. An input is appreciated. I know the June 2020 is not out yet but will prob reserve once they open.

    Thanks and Happy Cruising!

  9. So, a short review from our June Bermuda cruise on the Escape. We chose the Escape for a family vacation after a particulartrying year. Booked a year in advance. We splurged on a Haven Forward FacingPenthouse as part of our "treat" to ourselves. First time in any typeof suite environment. I can understand why people say "Once you go Havenyou never go back". Even with some little glitches, it was the bestvacation we have ever taken. The Haven was great! I will say, we really did notuse our Butler at all and I used the Concierge more than I ever thought Iwould. It was just nice to have someone accessible without waiting in line for20min to ask a simple question of. Having the Haven space to go to to relax vsthe general deck was great and the Haven Restaurant offer the Best Meals at seaI have ever had. I even asked about one of the side dishes that my familyordered every night, Scallop Risotto, and they brought me a list of ingr. fromthe Chef! Service was top notch. We also enjoyed the main area of the ship atnight. Le Bistro's meal was fantastic, Loved Cagney's as well. Moderno was notto our tastes but everyone likes something different. Howl at the Moon is wherewe spend most of our evenings and can't wait to go back on the next trip in Oct2019. We also had Spa passes and I can't imagine sailing without them. I couldlive in the Thalassotherapy pool! Napped in a lounger every afternoon there. This was our 3rd trip to Bermuda and I just love it there. Spent a great day atHorseshoe Beach, had a glitch with a Jet ski tour but it all worked out in theend. All in all can't wait to sail on the Escape again even if we are goingback to our normal inside room and would highly recommend the ship and theHaven to anyone looking for a fantastic vacation.

Loved, Loved, Loved this Cabin. Sailing with basically 3adults (Me, Husband and 16yr old son) having the separate Living Room for myson to sleep in was a huge plus. He's just to old to be sleeping above me on abunk for my comfort. Bed was extremely comfortable. Balcony was normal sizedbut enough for two comfortable chairs, a small table not not feel squished. TheBathroom was HUGE and we all loved the Spa Shower. I would book this room againin a heartbeat. I did not feel we missed out on anything by not being in theHaven proper, but it is a long walk to the nearest elevators. We called it the"Never Ending Hallway". I tried to make sure I had everything with mewhen we went up to the Haven Courtyard area, but it really wasn't a big deal togo back to room if we had to. Unless you feel you have to be right in Haven orneed a Giant Balcony, then definitely consider this room. A much better ratethan the rooms right in the Haven area and you get more roomspace for lessmoney.

  10. Ship - Escape

    Deck - 12

    Stateroom # - 12706

Stateroom Category – Forward Facing Haven Penthouse

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – Very Quiet, never heard a neighbor below, above or on sides. No hallway noise either

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – First balcony on Starboard. Great views but no forward view. Partially enclosed on the left side but still plenty of room. Chairs with nicer cushions and small table.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal size for Opening,, a bit more covered room to left as it is the first balcony on the level and partially enclosed

Was wind a problem? - No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - na

Any specific problems with this cabin? - Just at the very end of a long hallway. As long as you don't mind the walk, it was great

    Any other comments? -

  11. Sorry to say I have to agree about the recent David comments. We sailed about 3 weeks ago and other than the first day Haven introductions, I NEVER saw him at the desk or around the Haven. There was a lovely young woman who seemed to live at the desk. Her name escapes me right now but she was fantastic. I had her name on the ship and wrote out one of the Vacation Hero cards they have for her. Stated she should be moved up to Head Concierge as she was always ready to assist with a smile. Had the answer to any question I had.

  12. I agree with making sure they go to Entourage the first night. Last trip we didn't push my son to do that night and he never hooked up with any kids his own age. Still had an ok time, but not the same as hanging out with peers. We leave in 10 days and our deal is he has to at least go the first night for an hour or so. If he hates it I won't make him go back but I'm sure he will meet up with other teens to hang out with on board. He had the best times when he was able to do this in the past and Mom and Dad have a better time as well with some "Us" time as well as family time.

  13. Even the Non-Haven Cabins have almost doubled. Sailed with just myself and my husband 3 yrs ago,, cost about $1500 for inside room for the two of us.. I have a cruise for Oct 2019 reserved. Booked 18mos in advance... Total cost $3200 for inside. Still debating to keep the booking or not.
