I'm looking at booking Adventure ots 5 night to bermuda for june 2020 with suite guarantee price of 834 pp then switch to 2021 however the same ship class is not available may thru july.  Will this be a problem with the l&s program?

Yesterday I shifted my Bermuda cruise on Adventure of the Seas to Freedom of the Seas Aug 2020 to Aug 2021.  We had a good price for JS, they just shifted everything including the final payment date.  If RC sails and we decide we still want to go in Aug 2020 I will just call and use my annual Prime cruise for 2019/2020 that was reinstated.

  2. Just a thought in reference to the Coco Cay Beach Club Full Day Pass - just wondering when there are two ships in port aren't the guest on the first ship going to take all the nice loungers around the pool?  Or are some reserved for guest arriving later on the second ship?  I understand that all pool/beach seating is first come, first served but when you are paying extra for a nicer sitting area and loungers I'm just wondering  are there going to be any left when the second ship arrives.

Snorkeling at Tobacco Bay is decent. Off to the right there is corel and lots of fish, often large Parrot Fish. If you are going on a weekday the best way to get there is the ferry to St. George's then a 15 minute walk. Or you can take a short cab ride from the ferry dock.

St.George's is a must visit in my opinion on one of your Bermuda visits. It is a World Heritage Site. Also of interest is the Unfinished Church and Fort St. Catherine. Also St. Peters Church and the Perfumery. If you can get there by noon, between starting at 12 and ending at 12:30 is the ducking of the wench.

Thank you.  On our first visit to Bermuda we hired a private driver for the day and he gave us the whole island tour but as expected our stops were short and limited. We did indeed see the ducking of the wench and I remember there being a small church near by.   All our other visits we have stayed near the dock. But this trip the ship will be staying overnight and we would like to explore Hamilton and St. George area on our own.

We are arriving on a Monday morning so I will look into the ferry schedule.

Your information is useful thank you for responding.

  4. Our cruise ship is docking overnight at the Royal Naval Yard in June. We want to visit the other end of Bermuda on the day we arrive (9 AM) and would like to snorkel.  I figured if we go this day we don't have to worry about watching the clock to get back to the ship. I read that there is snorkeling at Tobacco Bay, how is the snorkeling there and what is the best way to get there?  Is there any other must see things in the area also? Are the caves close by?

We have been to Bermuda a couple of times but only for the day, so we have already explored and snorkeled in the area surrounding the Naval Dock Yard.

    Thanks

@starfish216 - thank you for this information.  We decided today that we would take the local bus to Mendenhall Glacier.  We plan to be off the ship no later than 07:30 AM as we want to go out to the Park early.  Is the bus stop “obvious” at the cruise port, or just simply ask around and we will be pointed to where it is located?

The local bus was in the middle of the parking lot.  There was a guy just standing there and we asked him and he pointed to the local bus.  It's the same parking lot where all the vendors have booths to sell tour tickets. We didn't mind having to walk once we got there since we were off the bus early to go for a walk before our early afternoon whale watching excursion.

  6. We went five years ago, my husband thinks the local bus was only $2 pp each way.  This did not include admission to the museum.  We walked along some trail to the visitor center and then to the falls.   This is a local bus not the shuttle bus that offers narration.   We caught the bus in the parking lot where all the tour vendor booths are.

This was not something I had  planned on doing or researched since our whale watching tour later in the after noon was stopping by Mendenhall Glacier for a quick distance view.   We were just off the ship around 7 - 8 AM wandering saw a sign and asked someone in the parking lot about Mendenhall Glacier and he told us to take the local bus, he said it was leaving in about 5 minutes.   He said it ran often. For us it worked out well.

Our ship was docked close to where the bus parking lot was and we didn't mind walking once to we got to Mendenhall Glacier.

  7. We took the local bus.

We got off the ship very early just to walk around and we saw the booths with all the vendors.  One vendor told us that the local bus was leaving in a few minutes so we took it to Mendenhall Glacier, the bus was empty. Once there we walked to the falls and back (about a mile each way). We spent less that two hours there. The bus heading back to the ship was also empty, it was late morning. Had plenty of time to  have lunch on the ship and head out to our afternoon whale watching excursion.

  8. You can also cash he points in for money. It’s 20 dollars fr every 100 points you you have about 280. The Host can tell you how,

For 2500 points it's $50 off your folio in the form of OBC or you can download the $50 to play. After that it's $5 for ever 250 point increment.

If you want the OBC you have to let someone in the casino know, it is not automatic. If you want to play it just download it to what ever machine you are playing on.

If you decide to download it on the machine your points will drop by what you downloaded but don't worry the casino host keeps track of the original points you earned. I took a photo of my points before I did it.

  9. I'll be on the Grandeur, stopping in St. John, NB in early October. Ever since I've seen pictures of people walking through the Bay of Fundy sea caves at low tide, this has been on my bucket list. There are a few excursions offered by RC, and I'm trying to decide which (if any) is best for my hubby and me. Any opinions are welcome! The three most intriguing are:

    1. St. Martin's and Bay of Fundy-- 5 1/2 hours Starts at 8:30 am.

    2. Big Pink Bus-HOHO (90 minute Route)

    3. St. Martin's and Bay of Fundy Express-3 1/2 hours. Starts at 11:30 am.

I'm not sure if the HOHO gets us to a point where we can see the tide as dramatically as those classic advertising pictures!

If I'm reading the tide correctly, low tide is at 12:06 at St. Martin's. (4.9 feet)

I know nothing about the area other than the little bit I've learned from the shore excursion descriptions. Any help or insight would be much appreciated!!

I don't know where the sea caves are that you are looking for - St Martin's and Hopewell Rocks both have sea caves.

If you are looking for the part of the Bay of Fundy where you can walk on the floor and see little islands protruding up from the ocean floor you need a tour that goes to Hopewell Rocks, it's about a two hour ride each way from port. If that is what you are looking for just ask if the tour is going to Hopewell Rocks. Walking on the ocean floor is only available during the low tide cycle.

The Bay of Fundy is a huge area and on our first visit I too was excited to be visiting then Bay of Fundy - when we stopped at a dock in the Bay of Fundy there boats were sitting on the floor but it was nothing like I imagined...needless to say I was disappointed. It was then that I found out that those iconic images are from Hopewell Rocks, a two hour bus ride from port. Next time we went I picked a week where we will be there at low tide and booked an excursion to Hopewell Rocks. See image below.

St Martin also has sea caves but not as dramatic as Hopewell Rocks. We visited this place on our first trip...we did not have access to the caves since the tide was high.

    Hope this info helps you.

  10. I have been reading lots of terrible reviews about Royal Caribbean. Bad customer service. Lousy staff on board. Dirty ships. We have never cruised with them before & I am getting nervous about our Harmony cruise in March. I am contemplating switching cruises. Can someone please ease my mind?

Been on over a dozen RC cruises, never had any issues that I need to deal with customer service. Only used them to exchange US $ in Europe and get an extra room key for my dad's cabin since he travels solo. They were always polite.

How was the ship dirty? Any ship I've been on they are constantly cleaning. I may find an unoccupied table in the WJ may still have plates on it but the person servicing that area is cleaning off another table not standing around talking.

  11. Curious where you found that it can be used as $750 toward another cruise? I read every word on the offer and it says it has "no cash value and cannot be applied towards non-Qualifying Sailings". Thanks.

For us it's on the back above the list of available cruises. We always just take the dollars off (the most for us was $750) a cruise/ship that is convenient for us.

  12. Our beach break and snorkel excursion did not get cancelled in Aruba because of intermittent rain. The excursion was going rain or shine. We snorkeled in the rain and when we weren't snorkeling we sat on our beach chairs under an umbrella whenever it started to drizzle. It was like this for four hours.

In December while on the Navigator we were at guest service and the man next to us was looking to cancel an excursion for his whole family of six because they were taking his wife to the ER. GS staff told him his wife and the person going with his wife to the ER can get a refund the rest of the family either goes on the excursion or losses their money. I think the other guest were all adults.

  13. Has anyone done the Curacao Jeep Safari through RC, it's the one with the driver/guide along with 8 passengers in a jeep.

We will be on the Navigator of the Seas in a couple of weeks and was thinking of doing this. Not much info is on the website, would appreciate more info if someone has any.

    Thanks.

  14. Im not surprised that noro was present on anthem. It seems ive read many reports here that anthem is understaffed and not that clean. Dirty dishes and glasses everywhere

Most important thing is dont touch ur face anywhere with your hands

Been on the Anthem four times, the last being 10/28-11/4 sailing. The Anthem is always being cleaned, dirty dishes and cups are picked up quickly. Most of the times we were still sitting at the table when our dirty dish and cups were being removed.

The only place I saw dirty stuff was outside of someones stateroom in the wee hours of the morning. Some guest are just slobs. If I bring anything back to my stateroom to eat or drink I would never think about leaving it on the floor in the hallway. I leave on the desk in my stateroom for my cabin steward to remove it in the morning.
