We ended up with an aqua handicap cabin. We did not like it. The cabin and balcony were nice and large but we hated the bathroom. The floor would flood with every shower no matter how careful we were.

Every time I check Juneau port webcam it’s raining.

Cocoa is a very different area than Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaveral. Don’t stay in Cocoa.

I personally don’t like sharing a large table with people I don’t know. I always end up with a loud and obnoxious know it all who takes over any conversation. The tables for 2 are so close that you can choose to talk or not talk to your neighbor.

Anyone been on a cruise ship tour of the Rainforest Sanctuary? I’m booked but now I am having second thoughts. The other option was taking the local bus to Totem Bight then walking around town. We’ve haven’t been to Ketchikan. We will be traveling for a month so an expensive excursion is out of the question.

Another thank you for posting. Menu looks great. I’ll be in Alaska on the Royal in September and hopefully the menu will be similar.

What brands of water do they have?

I was also on this sailing. We booked last minute and ended up with an OV on deck one. I found the room to be dirty. Luckily I brought some wipes and did my own cleaning. Accumulated dirt and dust in the corners of the bathroom counter and where the counter meets the wall. Glass shelves in bathroom extremely dirty. I didn’t use them. Tile wall decoration was filthy. Found many long black hairs. I’m sure there was more but I tried not to look. Cabin had no glasses, no TV remote, and no snoozing hang tag. Steward didn’t know how to make the bed. Ate dinner in MDR. I have always enjoyed Carnival food but not this time. No offer of coffee after the meal to have with dessert. Bread basket only came around once. I don’t eat at the buffet. Too many less than clean hands. Walked through the buffet late at night when no food was being served and it smelled like old grease. We haven’t cruised with Carnival in many years so have not been able to see the changes gradually. We won’t be back. I rather pay more for a better product.

I also used them in Europe. No problems at all.

I cruise to Alaska in September and that excursion has been sold out for at least a month.

When we went from London to Southampton we used National Express. Easy, inexpensive, convenient, and pleasant.

We rented a car and drove as far as Emerald Lake. Easy drive. We enjoyed the flexibility of spending as much time as we wanted at each stop we made. Also it was more comfortable than a bus or van.

It really doesn’t matter that people aren’t washing their hands when entering the buffet. Their dirty habits will continue after hand washing. Butt scratching, nose picking, coughing in hands, handling dirty tissues, rearranging the boys, finger licking. I could go on forever. All that and more negates the hand washing they just did. I’m a serious people watcher. All the nasty habits catch my eye.

I just go with the flow and have a good time. All these complaints seem a little petty to me.

Wrong cruise line for totes and umbrellas.

Enjoying your review. We are doing an Alaska cruise tour in September this year. I haven’t been able to find many reviews on cruise tours especially one with pictures. Thanks.

Thanks everyone. We are definitely looking forward to our Alaska cruise tour on Royal Princess. I’m sure we’ll have a great time.

That pretty much sums up all the complaints. All aspects of cruising is pretty subjective but I was surprised to see mostly negative comments. Like I said we are pretty low maintenance and go with the flow kind of folks.

We are doing land first and cruising from Anchorage to Vancouver.
There were complaints about pretty much everything.
Thanks for your responses. I’m feeling much better now and looking forward to trying Princess.

We have cruised many times. Most recently our cruise line of choice has been Celebrity. We have also cruised Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Cunard, and Viking river cruise. We wanted to try Princess so we booked an Alaskan cruise tour. We are pretty low maintenance but I have been reading some reviews on Royal Princess and they are not good at all. Is Royal Princess that bad?

I try to avoid excursions with lunch included. I have been on a few and found that the food was either lacking or I didn’t like what was served. Lunch takes away a lot of time from sightseeing. I’d rather see the sights and walk around than spend 1 1/2 to 2 hrs sitting at a table. Easy to grab a quick bite of some deliciousness on your own.

I don’t believe a steamer is allowed. My steamer made it through. The security girl who was supposed to be watching the screen as bags went through was busy looking everywhere but at the screen.

Does X usually offer tours for b2bs on turnaround day? I’ll be on b2b with turnaround in Amsterdam. I would definitely take advantage of a tour if offered.

Yes we are on the TA and we booked Delta.
