  1. If you want the AFT wrap, and a Suite, and additional rooms, the Spirit class ships (Including the Pride) have connecting rooms on the VISTA Suites on DECK 4 Only.

we have one on our Jan 3rd Cruise, I will take a video. We originally got the combo because:

A: my wife and I love these rooms.

B: we originally had a party of 5.

C: even though we are now a party of 4, we are keeping the configuration. so we can have a two bedroom Suite with two bathrooms, and living room, and a big Balcony.

I will post a vid, or pictures after I get back.

  2. So I know I am many months out but I cannot help but plan this cruise- at least plan it in my head.

My DH is athletic and adventurous and will probably have no problem finding shore excursions.

I am very mobility limited so I booked a wrap around vista suite thinking I was paying a lot more but it would be worth the money if I can't leave the ship.

Any folks who have cruised Alaska- do you think it was worth the extra money to get the vista wrap around?

One of the best benefits, of an Aft wrap, other than the size is the position AFT. The wind while in motion can be extreme, and the larger deck plus the lack of wind on the back, can be a huge plus.

  3. Anyone know how when the elegant nights will be?

I did a search and it looks like there will be 2 elegant nights for this 6-night cruise.

    Night 1- Dec 20- Departure

Night 2- Dec 21- Sea Day- I'm thinking this will be elegant night 1

Night 3- Dec 22- Sea Day

    Night 4- Dec 23- Nassau

    Night 5- Dec 24- Freeport

    Night 6- Dec 25

    Dec 26- Arrival in Baltimore

Do you think/know if they will do the 2nd elegant night on Dec 24 or 25?

I'm thinking Dec 25 would be a bit tough since we have to get our stuff placed outside our cabin by that night.

    Thank you!

Just to confirm, it should be the Freeport night, as you pull out of the port early afternoon that day. I know on our cruise on Jan 3rd, we pull out of Freeport at 2 that day.

  4. I was in the same situation 2 yrs ago, 1 suite and 1inside cabin, we were all allowed priority because it was the same booking. So if you booked it all together you should all go thru the priority line.

This kind of depends on if you get lucky at the check in line, they let you through, but it is not a given occurrance.

  5. Will try to look around. Cannot do next week since son will still be in school:(.

Keep them out of school...... :D

All kidding aside, even though I homeschool. This might be an option for the first week in January.

I cruise at oddtimes, because we avoid the "Scheduled Vacations" and the ships still have kids on them, not all homeschooled either.

  6. Due to potential conflict, we did not book a Christmas cruise this year. Now the schedule is clear. I was trying to grab a last-minute cruise, 7 days, 12/20 week, from east coast.

Well, all Carnival ships are totally sold out, no inside, no outside, no suite, nothing! I guess Carnival is doing really well.

Plenty of rooms on the Pride the week of Jan 3rd. Out of Baltimore.

  7. Same problem for us. Wife in one me in another, due to 19 year old and 9 yeard kids.

I would think that you either get her to bring you all your drinks, or you have to pony up and pay the extra. I know it hurts, but these are the rules.

We were going to have the same problem when a friend of my daughters was in the room with my wife and daughter, as the 9 year old cant be registered with a 19 year old sister and a 22 yearold friend.

we got around it this time, as my wife is doing a pay as you go, and I am doing cheers. then we will compare the cost benefit analysis.

I know I will be ok, as I drink a little more than her.

  8. The great thing is you can wear anything from dress slacks and a collared shirt to a tux for men and a pant suit or dress or formal full length gown for women on elegant night. I have seen it all and I love to see people dressed to the nines, it's great people watching, much nicer than some of the stuff I have seen while people watching on Carnival.

I (and my family) love to dress up, but this year we got less formal dresses, and I am leaving my full TUX at home. I enjoy wearing it, but i have lost some weight and it now needs several modifications. For me, I will be in dark pants and dress shirts, but I plan to wear some vests and ties to color coordinate with my wife and kids.

So for us we are dressing down a bit, but still dressier than most.

  9. Deck 4 (Vista Suite) and (Connecting Aft balcony)

We have stayed in a Vista before, and a Balcony seperatly. We have this combination on Jan 3rd.

It should almost end up as a 2 bedroom suite with a balcony, as the bathroom in the vista is off the bedroom. I will post a video once we are onboard.

We are unsure of the ability to open the divider (its a crapshoot) havent been able to confirm, but not that big of a deal with the HUGE Vista Balcony.

The connecting AFT has 3 Beds. We were booked with 5 total in both rooms. (2 Vista, 3 Aft)

  10. I was planning to use my phone for all my cruise photos/port photos. Was planning to text most photos to my husband. After reading about charges..lol..I am going to skip that plan. It is best to bring a regular camera? Disposable? What do you usually bring? This is our first cruise so I for sure want to take a ton of photos. Also...is it rude to take a camera to dinner? I would like to take a few photos of dessert etc..lol..to show my husband.

    Thank you for any help/info

Because of Phone/Battery Issues, I usually take a small portable digital camera with us. The battery generally will last all day, vs some phones drain fast when you take photos.

But with phones your battery mileage may vary. :D

  11. Our next cruise will be the second time in a Vista Suite on the Pride, yes there was some vibration at times. But not enough to make us reconsider a second booking.

We are on Deck 4 this time with the bonus connecting room. So we will have a two bedroom suite!!!:D

  12. Here are some photos of the Pride sauna and steam room. There are also great showers in the spa which you can use.

Used these on one of my last cruises. In a pinch, wives and daughters in the cabin with me, I would grab clothes after a short day and shower and change in the SPA, and meet them for dinner.

Saved time, when we were short on it. :p
