  1. Right now that's how you see it. Think of it this way, a new year, a new start. a first birthday free of what wasn't meant to be. Time will take care of it.

Thank you, I am trying to. And on the up side it will be a new experience to have the cabin all to myself!

It appears people are responding to the OP which was in October, and they've sailed.

It's almost like running 2 threads into one now.

Sorry I thought it might be easier to just add on to this thread instead of starting a new one about Early Saver, since there are already so many different threads about Early Saver.

  2. Need more information. Is it something that would be covered with insurance? Is the person leaving his/her paid fare in place? If not, you'll have to pay another fare.

No this would not be covered by insurance. Long story short the relationship has ended. And this is not a good way to start the new year or celebrate my birthday:rolleyes:

Just let them no show. If you notify them in advance it gets very messy, especially with ES. You still have time for another person and a name change though. Used to be $50 charge for that, recently someone said they stopped that charge so I'm not sure.

I didn't think you could do a name change on an early saver fare. And see above for I think it might be better to have the cabin to myself, and I am traveling with friends and family.

  3. What should they have done?

We noticed a few things where we think they missed the mark.

    1. The upholstry on the promenade across from the casino was worn out and old. They shoukd have replaced it.

    2. We had an old TV in our cabin that did not work very well. I have heard that they are upgrading these as they break. They should have just replaced all of them during the dry dock.

These are the 2 things that stand out in my mind. They did not ruin our cruise, we still had a great time and enjoyed the Triumph. I just think Carnival dropped the ball on the upgrades. They fixed the big things but missed on the small details.

  4. To all the people who complain about stupid things, shut up. The ship was great. The staff was really attentive. I enjoyed the 2.0 upgrades. And we didn't notice any major issues that would make me feel like I wouldn't want to be on the triumph.

Any issues that came up were so minuscule to not even warrant bringing them up here or in a review.

I will be posting my review when we get home, now to get out of this horrible mess of a ice storm that hit dallas.

We were on the Triumph in Nov. We had a great time, the staff was excellent. Our complaint is that we feel that Carnival missed the mark when upgrading the ship. They focused on the big things and overlooked the small things. We feel that Carnival could have & should have done more with the upgrades..that is all.

  5. Can someone suggest a good tour guide or tour company to use to book a private boat for the day? We will be in Belize in Jan 2014 on the Carnival Magic and would like to book a private boat to take us snorkeling and to an uncrowded beach on one of the islands. I have tried to search but really didn't get very many results.

I did find the company Fantasea but there aren't any recent reviews about them and all of the old reviews are about cave tubing or the ruins.

    TIA

  6. Do you know of any good/inexpensive tour operators to take DH & I snorkeling ? We will be there 1st week of December on Carnival Cruise. We are thinking of taking the boat from the ship to Caye Caulker, but who to get to take us snorkeling? (from all the reviews, it appears we should hire a tour company for snorkeling) We have never been to Belize, so any info will be helpful. Thank you so much for all your reviews as they are very helpful!

We are interested in this too.

Is there a Carnival excursion that will just take you to Caye Calker??? What's the name of it? We are on the Magic in Jan.

  7. We were on the Triumph right before you, we got off the ship on the 9th. We also went cheap and were on deck 2 but had an oceanview cabin. We did notice some odd smells throughout the ship but they were not constant.

I agree with you about the Guy's burgers, they are pretty good....not as good as Smashburger.....but good.

I thought the carpet looked new in our cabin. Our biggest complaint and dissappointment was in the little things that were not updated when the ship received the 2.0 upgrades. We noticed several things that we thought should have been updated but were not like the tv, the picture frames in our cabin were all tarnished & the upholstry on the seats across from the casino. Also didn't like that there was not a thermostat in the cabin, just a vent that you could open & close. We thought the cabin got very hot at night and we could not make it colder.

None of these things ruined our cruise. I just think that Carnival could have done a little better when the ship was upgraded, they fixed the big things but missed the mark on the little things.

I will continue to cruise Carnival (booked the Magic for 1/19/14). But we were not impressed with the Triumph and will probably not book the ship again.

  8. We are in St. Thomas on Oct. 12 (Carnival Freedom). It looks like there is a 8:00am ferry from Red Hook to Cruz Bay. Is that correct? And if our schedule says we dock at 7:00am, do you think we could make the 8:00am ferry?

I would like to get to Trunk Bay as early as possible. I am hoping to get some good snorkeling in before it gets to crowded.

  9. We are headed to the bahamas for 3 days on NCL Sky April 30-3 May. This will be our first NCL experience, our past cruises have been on Princess. The price for a weekend getaway was too hard to pass up so we booked up today. We are looking forward to trying a new line and a short itinerary. Anyone sail Sky before?

We were on the Sky when it was the Pride of Aloha sailing the Hawaiian Islands. It is an older ship, but fine. I think when they renamed it back to the Sky they refubished it and put the casino back in. We have looked at doing the quick 3 or 4 day Sky sailings to the Bahamas just like you because the price is so great.

We have started sailing mostly with Carnival. We like them and the price, but have sailed on several different lines. We are booked on the Carnival Freedom on Oct. 9, 2010 for an Eastern Caribbean cruise. Anyone like to join us?

  10. We would like to go to Hawaii or the bahama's next year. But not sure how Hawaii would be on a cruise. Anyone else have any idea's?

    Caron :p

We did a Hawaii cruise in 2006 on the NCL Pride of Aloha. It was a great way to get an overview of all the islands. Now we would like to go back to Hawaii and just go either Kauai or the Big Island. The Big Island was my favorite.

As for a cruise we are looking at cruising on the Carnival Conquest in Jan 2010. We sailed on her in 2007 and loved it. It sails out of Galveston, We just love to cruise. We just got back from the Carnival Miracle this past Sunday!!!!
