  1. We were booked for this Jan 4 cruise (6 of us) and at the last minute decided to cancel.....Canadian gov't directive and also the flights, required testing, etc. just seemed too much to take the risk.

We are heart-broken not to be there, but we all feel we have made the right decision.

I have been following this message board and am so glad that the cruise has gone well....thanks for all of the updates.

  2. I was also on this cruise and we received this same letter....my objection is the short time we have to use this credit, whatever amount it might be!  Just one week from disembarking.  Hadn't got another princess cruise booked, and trying to select one in a hurry isn't easy.

Another point, the seas were quite rough when it was announced that we were not going to St John, but we had missed Bar Harbour the previous day, and had stayed almost a full day extra in port in Boston....so I don't understand why you were surprised and upset about short notice....it was very apparent that docking anywhere would be difficult, and the port of St John is not one of the bigger ones!  I've been on 30+ cruises, and it was the choppiest we've experienced in north American waters

  3. We were on a celebrity cruise a few years ago in March break time and we were delayed for well over two hours getting on....they were doing an extra cleaning of the ship!! When we finally got to our cabins, the TVs were on, as they usually are, showing many many photos of the previous weeks activities and passengers! Quite interesting! The staff said they were uncomfortable all week. They bring on their own entertainment when they charter the ship.

And yes, the previous week's cruise was a gay one.

  4. We have been on several celebrity cruises - had premium and classic alcoholic packages.....not worth getting the more expensive one. Most bars will give you most drinks with the classic package. The best way to enjoy beverages on a cruise.

We tried to share one package the first time, not worth the hassle of waiting a few minutes between orders/or finding another bar. The computers at the bars can tell when you've ordered the last drink (monitor your consumption too???) - a couple of the waiters told us on our last cruise that the ships are now actively hunting down people who share cards to cut costs!
