Hello - I’m on Spirit in February cruising from HK to Singapore and I have a query on visas that I wonder if anyone can offer advice. Do SS manage visas like most of the mega ships do?
As a UK citizen, I can get a 15 day visa waiver for Vietnam. However, does this waiver cover me for several days of entry to the country as we sail down the coast line? We don’t enter any other country during this part of the trip but we are at sea for 1 day between Chan May and Ho Chi Minh City.
Having completed the journey from Singapore to Hong Kong in early December, as a US citizen our visa arrangements were handled by Silversea. Check with your appropriate governing entity, travel agent or Silversea.

I misunderstood. When you said "issued by their embassy" I thought you meant you meant/wanted a 'full' visa in your passport.
I am not seeking entry and re entry from another country therefore I believe the E visa will suffice for the 2 or 3 ports of entry in Vietnam where we will be heading.

I live in Vietnam... and am pretty sure getting one issued by the embassy will cost you a lot more (approx. 2x) than letting SS take care of it for you for $50.
Unless I misunderstood the information provided on the Vietnam Embassy website. the E visa they issue is $25.00 and available on line.

Les,
I believe UK citizens aren't required to have a Vietnamese visa as long as your visit doesn't last more than 15-days. US citizens are required to have a Vietnamese visa regardless of the length of the stay.
We are traveling from USA and per Vietnamese government require a visa. I will have one issued by their embassy. Thanks for your replies.

Your narrative and photos are truly a delight to read and view. We'll be traveling there in December on Silver Spirit. Do you recollect what fee you were charged by Silversea to obtain the visa for your visit to Vietnam?

We had been so looking forward to our "Moon" cruise in February , 2021 but am too shaken and concerned as to the Corona virus situation in Brazil. Does Silversea just wait to the absolute last minute to cancel? I realize we're talking about next year but Brazil doesn't even seem to be addressing this pandemic nor care to.
