Can you get Carnival rate if you are not sailing with them? Going on a different cruise line but would like to stay here. Last time I stayed there I bid and got room through priceline. Will do that again if necessary.

Been bidding every day for a hotel in San Pedro for April 5, 2013. Priceline had a special of adding $5.00 to your bid.

Bid up to 70.00 for San Pedro, added Long Beach for $72.00 and won bid for Hotel Maya. Looks like nice hotel.

Really wanted to be in San Pedro but took my chances so will make the best of it.

It is easy to get carried away with taking things and I used a packing list that I found on cc. These are the items I took that I didn't need:

address labels, binoculars, extension cord or power strip, umbrella(cabin had one in it), insulated mugs, ziploc bags, travel neck pillow(plane provided one).

Items I'm glad I brought. Sewing kit for hem that raveled out. First aid items for diarrhea and sinus. I stocked up on items at the 88 cent shelf at Wal-mart. I took everything out of the boxes and slipped them into a small zippered bag that didn't take much room. Several items came in handy.

Pop up hamper. Kept dirty clothes all together. Collapsible drawer on desk to keep paper work together and small items stashed away.

Plastic suction hooks to dry washed out items.

The items I purchased at Dollar Tree that I used the most are the following:

an 8 1/2 x 12 collapsible drawer, I kept this on the top of our desk and kept all my paper work and misc items in it. It kept everything tidy that way.

suction cups: stuck on the outside of the shower to hang items to dry that we washed out.

Only you can decide which shoes to wear. I had on regular sneekers but I really don't like combersom hiking shoes. You can see in the picture what the trail is like. There are many trails off this main trail. One goes down to a small very old church. You have to climb through a window in the wall to get to it.

 

 

 

 

 

Thanks for the info and the pics. I now know what shoes I will take.

I am interested in walking the wall and hiking. I am trying to decide whether to bring my hiking shoes or if I can get by with other shoes. What is your opinion that have walked city walls?
