Those types of lifts normally are rated for 750 pounds but couldn’t find anything specific to Royal to confirm. I would recommend calling and please post answer when you have it.

Call our Access Department at (866) 592-7225,  or send an e-mail to special_needs@rccl.com, or have your local travel agent or International Representative contact us. Our fax number is
    (954) 628-9622.

Per your request, here is the conversion for 400 kg:  This is from special_needs@rccl.com, Please be advised the staff onboard the Oasis of the Seas have informed us that 400 KG is the total weight capacity of the elevator in suite 1742.

This is the conversion, seems to be plenty strong enough to hold anyone.

    Convert 400 Kilograms to Pounds

    400 Kilograms (kg) = 881.849 Pounds (lbs)

    1 kg = 2.204623 lbs

    1 lbs = 0.453592 kg

I've been reading through this trying to figure out the big deal from the very first post.  What would upper management say that is different from the information offered here?  I don't see the issue or problem.  Life happen and Royal has a back up plan if plans change, which makes sense.

You really aren't making any sense.  You are aware that no matter how infinitesimal small you think it is, there is a chance that you will not make the cruise and be able to enjoy the room (which is the only room I have ever sailed in on Grandeur).  If you happen to cancel, have medical emergency, or otherwise die between now and then....Royal will be able to delight another passenger with an upgrade and now....thanks to the bids they have collected, have a way to determine which of those passengers get delighted ;).

I am sailing on Anthem in 30 days.  I'm in the Owner's Loft Suite.  I wanted to book the royal loft suite, but it was booked and paid in full (I booked through the casino and they were very forth coming with that info when I asked)...but guess what...I got a royal up offer...and you know for sure I put in my bid on the off chance that the people staying in the Royal Loft Suite had to cancel at the last minute.

  4. Because I paid for this suite 11 months before the royal up program started.  They knew that the suite was secured and put it up for bid anyway.  OMG How did they upgrade before this program was put into play.  Look, I am sorry for starting a big stir up over nothing it is to close to cruise time so lets all have a great cruise and forget this.  This is exactly what happens when one is entitled to their own opinion.  Have a great cruise I'm done with all of this.

I don’t understand why you’re so up in arms about this. The reason why has already been explained several times - Royal is doing what is in their best interest, plain and simple.

I think it is a poor strategy to allow this. If you go to an auction and something is no longer available you don’t bid on it. I assumed someone had cancelled after final pay,ent so it was available. I feel terrible   Very strange wish there only being one suite like this on the whole ship.

It's the only Royal Suite on the Grandeur.   All I want is an answer from upper management as to how something like this could happen.  Let's get together and have some drinks I will share a tour of the suite with you.  2 weeks to go.  Can't wait.

Your exact suite was part of the royal up program or a suite similar to yours?

NO this was for the Royal Suite on the Grandeur for March 28th sailing. There is only one royal suite on the Grandeur.  ChristyS put a bid in on it , she did not see it listed as available but it was listed on the bid.
