  1. I  use a refrigerated medication cooler from a company called 4AllFamily.  It needs to be connected to a power source: 120 or a power bank.  I have two power banks and each one keeps the cooler at 36 to 46 degrees for 20 hours.  I am so happy with this produce.  If you have questions, please email me at  margied489 at  aol.com

PS my cooler holds 2 Humira pens in their wrapper and 3 if you take one out of the wrapper.

  2. I just checked the five B2B cruises we have booked in 2023 on the Eclipse and they all have the appropriate B2B discount applied.

We have found when you book consecutive cruises on board, the B2B discount is not applied then.  Our TA gets it for us; if you work directly with X, call and ask for it.

  3. The other posters are correct...Celebrity will not touch a travel agent reservation.  They can't.

After booking three cruises with Celebrity twenty years ago, we didn't see much of a reason to change to a travel agent...until we talked with a fellow cruiser who enlightened us about the perks you may receive plus the travel agent being responsible for resolving issues. We decided to make a change.  Tried one....that one was not good.  Then we found another agent who goes far beyond our expectations.  Not only has she saved us several thousands of dollars in many booking, she takes responsibility for what happens to us.  You need to find an excellent agent who WORKS for you.  As others have said, we can recommend the very best to you.  Most of them work on-line so you don't need to be close to their office.  I am retired from American Airlines and worked for Pan Am and always felt you needed to book with the source....not now.  Good luck getting this resolved but I have a feeling your travel agent has to be involved.

    Best wishes!

    Celebrity Cruises * CELEBRITY CRUISES

CELEBRITY EQUINOX HAS NOW BEEN APPROVED BY CDC TO SAIL FROM Fort Lauderdale ON JULY 25, 2021.

Unfortunately Celebrity sent me our cruise docs for the July 4 cruise, I ordered the luggage tags and was feeling so excited for our three B2B cruises.  Then the bubble broke the next day....the cruise following our three will go but our three will not.  CDC approved the Equinox to sail earlier but apparently that was not to be.  Not until July 25.  We are going to wait to see how the chips fall.

  5. I read the other day that the Caymans are closed until the end of the year:

"The Cayman Islands will remain closed to cruise tourism for the remainder of 2020.

In a brief notice sent to cruise industry partners, including major cruise lines last week, Port Authority of the Cayman Islands Acting Port Director Joseph Woods cited the coronavirus pandemic for the extended ban.

"I wish to inform you that after careful consideration, the Cayman Islands Government has taken the decision that in the current global environment with respect to the coronavirus pandemic, it cannot allow the resumption of cruise tourism in the Cayman Islands for the immediate future. The Cayman Islands will, therefore, be closed for cruise tourism until December 31, 2020," Woods wrote."  MSN

  6. Yesterday we received our cruise docs for the July 4 cruise plus a link to requesting luggage tags. We could not check-in at that point.   So, if that cruise does happen, then I would think the July 18 cruise will be a go.  We are doing three B2B so we will see you on the July 18th cruise.

  7. After staying in AQ from a bid up opportunity (we were in Concierge), we changed all our reservations to Aqua.  We really enjoy Blu, like the more personalized service from the staff and sommelier, and the food is very good.  On a two month cruise on the Eclipse (Feb-Mar, 2020) we would not want to be elsewhere.  There were times when Suite guests ate in Blu (not with guests who would anyway) because they liked the food better.  We got to know the Executive Sous Chef who introduced us to the soup chef.  That was all he did ....  soup in Blu and it was the best on the ship.  It has always been a great experience for us but everyone has their own opinion!

  8. We've experienced this situation twice since April, 2020.  Celebrity/Celebrity Air cancelled our air reservations and refunded the total amount....no penalty.  This is one reason we prefer to use Celebrity Air.  When we had a third B2B dates change, Celebrity Air booked us on the same return flight for the appropriate date.  There was never a question about it or any problem.

  10. Le Petit Chef and Friends involves 4 chefs in a cook off.  There is an Italian, a French, a Spanish and a Japanese chef who agree to a competition with the dinner guests being the judges.  They each prepare a course and at the end, you clap for the course that you liked most.  It was fun with a bit more of a variety of foods than the first Le Petit Chef we were at.

  11. Skullmaping is the company that is responsible for the idea of Le Petit Chef as a entertaining dining experience.  https://skullmapping.com/project/le-petit-chef/

Celebrity has retained the name Qsine ... Le Petit Chef at Qsine or Le Petit Chef and Friends at Qsine as dining options.

I saw Le Petit Chef on a tv program several years ago....the location was at a restaurant in France with multiple diners.. It intrigued me as it was entertaining and the diners seemed to really enjoy it.  They probably were actors!  Regardless I told my husband that I really wanted to see it in person.

The first time I saw it on Celebrity was on the first night of a 2018 Pacific Coastal from San Diego to Vancouver.  We were doing a B2B Panama Canal transit when Le Petit Chef was advertised and I asked the Maitre d' to reserve us a table for the first night on the following cruise.  We had so much fun but I also questioned why would I go back.  There is another option on Celebrity now which includes the "friends".  We saw that one recently but I will be hard pressed to go to another Le Petit Chef.  It is fun entertainment for sure but the novelty did wear off for me.  Also Celebrity offered alternative food options for those who did not want to eat the meat or seafood or whatever.  You still saw the same animation as everyone else but you were served different food.

Le Petit Chef was offered the first half of the cruise and the balance was Le Petit Chef and Friends.  There are two set times for dining.  It is expensive but the first cruise night dining discount offer was available.

  12. Dear Jerry,

I feel as if I almost know you since I have spent hours enjoying all of your posts and photos.

Even though I am a “retired” Pam Am flight attendant and my husband is retired US Navy (obviously have traveled the world), you have injected a tremendous amount of enthusiasm for us as we plan our trip on Viking in April/May of this year. Your extensive photos and dialogue enable us to picture ourselves in all the cities along the trip. Thank you for taking the time to share your wonderful experiences.

We love Celebrity and will be on the 11 April Reflection TA to Rome and then to AMS. I can hardly wait.

    Continued happy sailings to you.

    Margie
