  1. Found some at Galleon Beach, past the resort is another area across from Nelson's Dockyard bay entrance (rocks/sand). Bring water shoes & prepare to wade some to get there. Amazing shipwreck 15 ft off that location.

  2. Seems like a fairly easy island to drive on if renting a car. Hired a taxi "for the day" & visited Nelson's Dockyard & the lookout point, then snorkeled on an amazing shipwreck off Galleon Beach (no one there!). Wanted to do lunch near any beach nearby or on the way back, but were told it was "out of our zone" (I had only mentioned these two destinations, but said wanted to hire taxi for the day). Also the man I thought was to be our driver pulled a "bait & switch," & put us in the taxi with "his son" while disappearing. Strange experience, but would do again, just with better clarity. Seems like drivers must remain in certain zones (each driver assigned different zones), may look into this if wanting flexibility/variety & for sure be good with the details.

  3. Yes! Just returned, & Kurt & his company are fantastic! Had visited St Lucia once before, so had an idea of what we wanted to do. Pouring rain all day, so did not snorkel/water taxi to Sugar Beach or hike Tet Paul trail like planned. Visited Saturday market, mud baths, view stops Pitons, local lunch in Soufriere, Rodney Bay beach, & supermarket for local rum purchasing. Kurt loves his island & is passionate about being a tour guide. He called us after I emailed & discussed ideas/options. Highly recommend, he will customize to anything you'd like to do or see.

  4. Islandmantaxi, Kurt, was just amazing. Customizable private tour without the crowds, helpful, knowledgeable, reliable, great homemade rum punch, amazing local lunch & nice van. Had been to the island once before, super impressed by Kurt & his company!

  5. We took the train tour in the morning & expected to grab a cab to the beach or tour around locally. With two ships in port, we found it super challenging to get a cab for two people at the cruiseport. All the cabs were vans looking for groups, or offering group tours. A taxi was running $30 to the beach, with group offers $15. We heard later there were individual cabs from the circus/roundabout in town. We got frustrated with the port crowds & walked along the harbor on the sidewalk. A police officer accosted us & said we could not walk any further. Crossing the street we walked into a restaurant & were ignored service, along with a table of cruisers next to us. The strangest experience! My parents chose to not book a ships tour, & wanting to see the fort, jumped on a group tour saying it would visit the fort. They toured around the island (gorgeous), but then it was suggested they skip the fort & be charged extra to visit the beach. Hopeful that this all was just an "off" experience, but we were surprised & disappointed by how this all unfolded. Will try Nevis next time!
