  1. My wife and I had booked a cabin for a February cruise with the Drink Package; we are both Diamond.
    My wife doesn't drink.
A week later I invited my sister and her family to join us. We helped them book a basic family cabin with no extras.
They didn't want to spend the money on having to pay for a drink package for everyone including the kids.
    They have no voyager status.
It occurred to me recently what if my wife was booked in their room and my sister was booked to my room, at least my sister could have a drink package.
So the bookings haven't been paid off yet. Does anyone know ...Can I have swap my wife and sister on the two reservations?
  2. I was on the JOY in January and had a creaky room when the sea rocked. As it turned out It was coming from the TV housing attached to the wall and desk.  It sounded like a tennis ball bouncing inside the wall. Couldn't sleep from it.  It took several persistent calls to an assistant manager and eventually they "found" a room when they initially said they didn't have any of my type of room. The new room exactly the same size only one deck up and on the other side of the ship.  They also gave a complimentary specialty dining to any restaurant for the inconvenience.  They also had a bellhop type guy move the bulk of our stuff.      They do mark in their system notes about rooms that have had complaints the assistant manager told me; as he said someone had complained about sounds from the kids gaming room nearby, but I never heard anything in the new room. It took a couple days to get this settled.   We were grateful.  a 15 day cruise, it would have been maddening to deal with that thumping for over 2 weeks.

How do the CruiseNext certificates work? I see them on ebay for $170 for a $250 certificate. Do you also get OBC or any other benefits for buying/using them?

I think you can transfer them from another person.  Be careful how much time is left to expiration.

When issued they had 3 years to expire. They are used towards your cruise fare; reduce the final cost based on the face value.  Not used for OBC when purchased from someone else. When you buy them onboard for typically half price, they allow you to spend the rest of the balance against your OB expenses.      I think I have that right    anyone else confirm that?

  4. I was on the MSC Seashore 3/5-3/12     It was fabulous    I was told 1700 passengers   that's about 1/3 rd capacity.     I'm not aware of running out of anything.   Most of the Thermo-Spa stuff worked.  My only complaints was the upper deck hot-tub/ whirl-pools I tried were not that hot.  Just warm with lots of bubbles.    The other Issue I noticed around day 3 onward was there were Black Particles/Soot all over the upper deck around the exhaust area (near those hot-tubs) and I noticed some on our balcony from that point onward. It would leave black coal like marks on our footwear and anything else that it came it contact with.  Close to the end of the cruise I managed to ask a guy that looked like he worked down below in engineering "What were the chunks of soot around on the decks and balconies?"  He blinked with searching eyes and said "It was normal" and veered away       I don't believe that for a moment.  I think they were having a problem with tuning the engines  or fuel flow or something.

I've been on probably a dozen cruises and have never seen soot like that fall on the decks.   Anyone else notice anything like this?

    WhatsApp worked perfect for me...

So What's App worked on the ship....Question: Does it continue to work sending messages or calls to others off the ship, back home through the WiFi ?

Also, does The MSC Me app  have the ability to message to others off the ship?

I must say that after 50 + cruises on different cruise lines over the last 15 yrs  that is absolutely the worst Elegant Night MDR menu I have ever seen!!!

We left Carnival due to the "Comfort" menu they came out with years ago.  I just looked at Carnival's menus and they now look better than MSC's.

It's a skinny menu!     I'm wondering if they stripped it down because they have so few people on  board right now .. less chance of waste.

Any thoughts about MSC's menus from others?

The Nomi testing at FLL airport will do walkups. For $9 for the rapid antigen test and results in about 1/2 an hour I think that is your best bet. You then have time to enjoy your time with your friends without worrying about testing.

How did you get it for $9 ?         I see various prices of $59 and $74 for Nomi on various web pages

  8. Question: What is the soonest they allow online booking of specialty restaurants?

My cruise starts 90 days from now,

For now it says "To early to book" on my Plan your Trip section.of the specialty restaurant area on NCL

Thanks if you know the answer to this.
