  1. I cruised last year on the Liberty from Galveston a 4 day cruise October 27- October 31st. There were Halloween theme parties on that cruise.

Carnival is,also advertising Halloween cruises out of California for the entire month of October this year. I would try to ask in a more, specific forum or maybe in a social media page, geared to your cruise or ship if you know who your CD is he/she probably has their own social media page you can ask in .

    Have a great cruise.

  2. So you were happy with the cruise you booked and the priced you paid?

Your husband got an offer for a discounted cruise, but does not

include the cruise you booked which is less than 2 weeks away and under full penalty for cancellation

The promotions, department explained this and would not give you special treatment, and you are dissatisfied.

Then you throw in you had a bad customer service issue on your last Carnival cruise.

If you want to take, advantage of the offer extended to your husband, book a cruise within the rules of the offer. Do not complain when the rules can not be bent in your favor SMH

  3. I did my first solo cruise in December 2013. This November and December will be my 13th and 14th solo cruise. It's my favorite way to cruise. I can do whatever I want on my own schedule. I am very social and can talk to anybody so that's a plus. I also enjoy being by myself and just relaxing. Friends I have met on previous cruises are cruising on both my upcoming trips, so that will be nice to catch up, and do some things together but not attached at the hip.

I always get Your Time Dining. I mostly like to eat solo, but have eaten with both new and old friends with YTD.

Have fun on your cruise !

  4. FTTF is printed on luggage tags for Diamond and Platinum also.

With the Premier casino offer you get priority embarkation and debarkation, but not the rest of the FTTF benefits. ..although on one of my Premier cruises last November on the Breeze, they did put the,FTTF sticker on the Premier guests S&S cards. That along with the over 400 of us who were Platinum or Diamond made the Guest service line pretty useless...lol

  5. Please explain to me how people lose their deposit. Even Early Saver will charge you a $50.00 change fee, but use whatever your deposit is for the old on the new cruise date reservation.

The promo is $50 deposit, so you explained it already...lol

  6. I don't really understand the, question? My understanding is that you booked a cabin as a solo (since you only put your name down) and paid a deposit. Do you know if your cabin accomodates 4 guests?. Did you pay 4 deposits and have 3 berths as TBA? Different answers depending on your booking. If you did a solo booking add nanes as soon as possible because even if there are berths in your cabin the ship may be at full capacity. If you paid 4 deposits and 3 berths are TBA those berths are secure and you have up to day before, sailing I would think since that is the time limit to switch names on a booking.

  7. The only deals on Carnival are through the casino. With all these half off deposit promotions and $50 deposit promotions Carnival is making a killing on people booking and losing their deposit because they either can't afford the cruise or want to change the date. No need for real sales when people are biting on the fake ones. Every day on my other cruise pages there is at least one post asking when the next reduced deposit is and 3 post complaining about how Carnival "cheated" them because they wanted to change their cruise date and wound up losing their deposit.

  8. This sounds a little odd. So Carnival employees can leave their job and go on vacation at will? Most big companies like Carnival you have to request vacation time well in advance. As an employer, i would call that quitting their job.

The people who work at the terminal, at least in Galveston only work part time and during days when cruise ships are in port. I wouldn't think it would be that difficult for 1 or 2 of them to get on the ship and have someone else cover their next shift. I would think this would be the case in most if not all ports.

  9. Was the original booking booked with an offer that was specific to your or your husband's VIFP number i.e. past guest, casino offer. If your friend does not qualify for that offer on her own and the other person no shows it nullifies the offer and additional charges may be incurred.

  10. Last minute cruises are not very cheap.

    From Carnival -

    July 1 Freedom 7 Day $959 pp

    July 9 Breeze 7 day $999 pp

    July 8 Freedom 7 Day $979 pp

    July 24 Valor 7 day $714 pp

    July 20 Valor 7 day $689 pp

More to choose from but all around $700-1000 pp

No last minute deals out of Galveston ever..lol That's my port of choice since I live 30 minutes away.

PS The Valor cruises quoted are 4 and 5 day cruises not 7 day.

  11. It hasn't changed, you still have to call.

Thank you. I knew you could always add them at booking but once you paid even a deposit and had a confirmation number, you had to call to add them prior to cruising

With all the new changes on Carnival's website, I was questioning if my original statement was correct.

  12. Not true! All you have to do is go into you account and you can add them at any time.

This is a welcome change as it was not available the last time I booked a cruise 2 months ago and forgot to add them. The only thing available to add without calling was trip insurance.

  13. The only way to prepay gratuities is either when you initially book or by calling and having them added. In either case it becomes part of your total cost and due by final payment . So if was after confirmation of final payment paid in full, either someone on booking called and added them or your pvp may not have been completely honest and needed to feel useful...lol

I felt very safe it's a 5 minute walk and you are with a lot of other passengers who booked independent tours. If you don't want to walk you can take a taxi to the top of the hill and the tour operators for $2or $3 pp.

On the way back you are let out at yhe pier entrance.
