  1. It is possible to book without the 'free drinks', usually when booking a guarantee cabin. I live in the UK and have booked without the drinks package on a number of occasions....

There are normally two prices shown on the website..., the normal price and the available offers price

For example an Independence of the sea cruise in June next year is £1999 pp for a balcony cabin guarantee (without any C & A discounts if applicable) without drinks package or £4500 for 2 people, so if you weren't interested in drinks you would save £500, however, if you wanted the package it's a good deal ( it's all relative depending on preference)

  2. Thank you for your great review, it's been very informative. We board Meraviglia on Friday for our 1st MSC cruise and we're lucky to have gotten a yacht club inside too.

We have been on 12 other cruises, all with Royal Caribbean, so we are looking forward to seeing the differences between the two lines.

I have one quick question ... we have gotten used to Royals dress code.... mostly smart casual.... ( I know definition is subjective) is this suitable for YC restaurant or should we be aiming for more formal / semi formal (we are 2 females).... don't want to be under dressed!

    Thanks in advance

  3. I've booked the new Symphony too via a travel agent. Can't see my booking yet on RCI as they haven't updated their site. How did you book the drinks package so soon?

Symphony has been added to the list in 'My Cruises' today, so I have been able to access my bookings.

Am in the U.K., so am not sure if this is the case everywhere

  4. The speculation is that O-4 will mimic the time line of Harmony. Sailing Europe over the summer of 2018 and then to Miami (probably) in November. If it does follow that course, harmony's itineraries were released for sale in mid April 2015, which was a few weeks later than the rest of the deployments. I expect we will see the same time line. Incidentally Harmony was named February 23, 2015.

  5. Does anyone know if Oasis 4 will go on sale at the same time .... just wondering given that it hasn't been named yet, but is due to be based in the Med next summer season (2018) or have I got things completely wrong?

    Thanks

  6. We are hoping the CD staff is watching this. They have begun to schedule the LGBT gatherings and publishing them in the compass, which they didn't do until last year. When they did it was 11pm in a bar with a folk singer and a loud amp. Not the best for conversation. Some "family" approached the CD who changed it to after dinner at "Vintages"(wine bar).

Of course the bulletin board is "free for the public" to post anything we want.

The Compass should be in our Rooms when we arrive . Let's see what the staff decides to do and decide how to respond.

Joe and I will be at the "Solarium" sail away. After muster drill.

When we were on Oasis, it was advertised in the Cruise Compass and was held in Vintages after dinner.... This was a nice venue as it wasn't too busy and people were able to chat.

Conversely, on Allure there was no mention in the cruise compass and we didn't see any other family .... Apart from the large 'bear' contingent that were onboard and organised their own events.

Is the Solarium sail away, being organised by the main roll call, rather than just the two of you hanging out there?

If there is nothing in Cruise Compass, the bulletin board beside guest services is a good place to pop a note just stating time and place.

  7. And we are back....... Hi everyone..... 3 week countdown..... Yaaaaay

I'm guessing we are still the only females in the group..... Oh well, it will be fun either way.

We were touch and go about whether we would have to cancel, due to some medical issues, but fingers crossed, we are good to go.....

It seems quite quiet on here, given that we are just 3 weeks out now, I guess, some people have had to cancel? I also noticed that the main roll call is onto thread 4 now and they are hoping to get to thread 5, looking like a busy sailing.

Hopefully we will get to meet some of you onboard

  8. Hi there. I'm from the UK, up North. 25 days to my escape, can't wait. 6th cruise for me, first for my girlfriend.... Hope she likes it.

    Hi there

We are near Manchester, where are you based?

What ship are you sailing and to where?

We are off on Ovation in 7 days...... Can't wait!

I'm sure your girlfriend will love it... Sure what's not to like? [emoji2]

  9. Just did Petra and am disabled. Took a horse carriage down and back. Hired a donkey while I was in bottom. Animals were well taken care of, in good condition, and not mistreated. I too am short and could get in carriage without difficulty

    Thank you for the feedback.

We are doing a tour with Jordan Horizons, I emailed them and they advised that their guide will help us get organised. Will let you know how it goes.

  10. I have bought this package previously, (prior to boarding) the champagne has usually been in the stateroom on arrival, however I wouldn't like to say it would be there for definite, as other parts of the package did not arrive until much later in the day and on one occasion not until the following day!

If you have onboard credit, why not consider buying a bottle of champagne from one of the bars and get it 'to go' with 2 glasses?

Alternatively, the bar server will open the bottle, pour your 2 glasses and keep the rest of the bottle refrigerated until you come back from sail away. We have done all of the above before and all have worked out well.

    Hope this helps
