  1. yup...   Very common, but can cause problems with online checkin depending on the airline.   We have used EZ Air for the past 5 cruises and every time the firstandlast lol name have been combined.

Furthermore, I have been told this isn't as much as a Princess problem, but an issue with other Travel Agent systems booking air too.

Sadly in 2019 you would think that someone could figure this out.

This was the Crown Princess and we were in D703 which is aft/starbourd.  It is located directly below the protruding windows of the Skywalker.

While our initial thoughts went to soot we realized it was not for it was wet and runny. As I say, nobody knew what it was and everyone we spoke to said they had never before seen such a thing.  I was wondering if anyone here would have any idea what happened to cause this

    Wow...

When we were telephoned and advised by our cabin neighbour immediately above us to take a look out our balcony window, we had one thought in mind.  Soot!.  The previous postings about soot migration was of interest but as never experienced, we we’re not sure what we were looking at.

Advising the front desk, which took some time and the odd use of the English language, we achieved having supervisory people look into the mess.  No one could tells what it was and no one ventured out onto the balcony to so determine.  No one had any idea as to it’s origin but we all shared the same facial concerns as to the worst scenario.

The clean-up crew working into the night cleaning the whole area and presumably those adjacent if also contaminated.

    And as a picture says a 1,000 words….

What ship is this and how far back on the ship is the location of your stateroom?

Well they did deliver shrink wrapped fully decorated Christmas trees so I imagine the ship will soon look a lot different!  No other changes that I have observed but will post back if I hear anything more.

Thanks for the update.  Have a great cruise.

Just boarded the Royal. Last week they made all of the slot machines in the casino “Ocean Medallion Ready” and allegedly did more work to enable OM, but there’s no visible evidence of that since the cabin doorway screens have not been installed yet. They also put in brand new TVs but live TV isn’t functioning. Sailaway is also delayed by an hour and a half to two hours due to an unspecified “technical problem”. Maybe the TV repair man hasn’t finished adjusting the antenna yet?

Thanks for the update.   I know this isn't related to the thread, but any other obvious changes after wet dock?

I did try each time with it on and off and it didn’t matter with the slow speeds.  It does matter greatly at home.

Today the internet speed is great!!   I normally try to check at the same time of day (08:00 am)but do check additional times later in the day

I have tried with two different VPN applications.  I found with both of them the speed dropped significantly.  So,  I use the VPN now only when absolutely necessarily.

We are on the Royale Princess leaving Ft Lauderdale on January 12, 2019 in a Mini-suite guarantee. The offer is $459/person for a s3 - s5 suite. Is this a good offer.

I accepted that same offer on the sailing a week earlier.   It's still a better deal that paying full price, but its on the upper side of what I would like to pay for it.    But, the Sabatini's breakfast and the Club Class dining are nice perks.

  8. Just found out today that our Royal Cruises are no longer going to be Ocean Medallion. We booked four legs (40 days). I blog and booked these dates to write about the roll out. Now although I am disappointed it won't ruin my cruise. What is frustrating is that we find this out two days after final payment has gone thru for the last day. So we are locked in.

As Carnival investors I am disappointed in the whole roll out and what a fiasco it has been.

Sure problems arise but this has been one thing after another. I love Princess but it is really putting a sour taste on how things are happening.

I almost think Princess should just automatically apply the on board credit to ALL cruises that were told would be Ocean Ready and are not. This would return faith in Princess and how they are rolling this out.

    my two cents

Agree with your comments completely... We are on a sailing in Feb 2018 and made our payment yesterday before noticing that the ***** references were removed. I called Princess and was told to call back between 9am and 5pm PST Monday as they didn't know why the Royal was removed from ***** and there wasn't anyone available that could address my concern. ODD! Needless to say I will be calling back on Monday.

  9. Added the app and tried to link my existing reservation but it wants a "Reservation Number" and doesn't accept my Booking Number. Also wanted to take my picture rather than allowing me to choose a picture. Says date of birth not chosen but won't let me edit that field. Doesn't seem ready for prime time...

    Same issues here!
