This boils down to NCL not wanting to have to deal with unvaccinated travellers. Costa Rica will not allow unvaccinated travellers to leave the ship, and NCL doesn't want to be put in the position of having to verify vaccination status of their passengers - so screw safety.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was the reason, but they haven't dropped it from our Dec. 10th cruise on the Pearl.

I don’t see this excursion as an option to book on my Prima September 13th sailing however I see ncl often has “Norway in a nutshell” on offer in the past.  NCL’s version sounds like an abbreviated option to fit into the port day.  We’re in Bergen from 9:15am - 5pm so I wouldn’t feel comfortable trying to book unless through the ship.

Question- has anyone booked this excursion through ncl and if so do you remember how far in advance it was offered?  I’m hoping for it to come available but have booked something else for now as a backup.

    Hi Littlelulu01!

We're sailing on the Star in June and that excursion isn't offered for us either.  We only have 4 choices for Bergen through NCL.

  3. Has anyone ever only had one suite available to bid on?  We're booked in an S6 on the Star -- DOS without balcony.  The only upgrade I can bid on is the Garden Villa.  I thought it was strange that I can't bid on the S2 - DOS w/2 balconies (what we really want, wasn't available when we booked a year ago, and now open)    We'll have a great time either way, I've just never gotten a bid offer with only one room choice.

Also, I can't see the bid offer on my home page either, just through the link in the e-mail or the one listed above.

  4. We did a 5 city tour with them in 2014, and we were pleased.  We toured Berlin, Talinn, Helsinki, St. Petersburg (2 days) and Stockholm.  We didn't even pay for the tour until we got to St. Petersburg.   I can see people not being happy with Berlin, it's quite a drive, but we couldn't go to Germany and not go to Berlin. The tour itself was good, it's just a longer ride than most people realize from the port.

  5. I haven't used them technically, but had a tour (El Cielo) booked with them last June when we were in Mexico at a resort.  Unfortunately our snorkeling trip was rained out due to a bad rain storm, but their communication was great and they quickly refunded our deposit.  I'm planning to book with them for our cruise in March.

  6. Hello - we're scheduled for a cruise that disembarks in Reykjavik after an overnight.  What is the process for disembarkation - do we go through Customs or does that happen at the airport?  Does this port allow self disembarkation where we carry our own bags off?  Trying to figure out if we can catch a flight to London at 10:45 AM if we can walk off at say 6 am or would we have to wait until Customs opens.

    Thanks!

. I applied it to a December 2020 Epic cruise in a studio with no problem.

I can see the credit under my husbands account, but how do you apply it?  Did you have to call?  Our next cruise (June, 2020) is booked through a TA so there is no area to make a payment.  Thanks!!

Hi Tricia! I just wanted to pop in and say hello. I tried to message you, but CC won't let me...? Hope you and hubby are doing well. We enjoyed meeting you this summer, take care! Maybe we'll cruise together again. We're headed to NZ in March.

We’ve wondered how the rest of your trip went.  I’d love to hear about it.  I think CC has turned off messaging.  I tried too and couldn’t get it to work.  My e-mail for CC is my username at yahoo

  9. I hope I'm putting this in the right spot, as opposed to starting a new thread.

We have booked three trips with Blackberry Cars to take us from LHR to our hotel near Victoria Station,  from our hotel to Southampton, then from our hotel back to LHR post cruise.  I've paid for the service online, but what should I tip the driver?  I read to "round-up," but being pre-paid there is no rounding.  We'll have two suitcases.

    Thanks!

  10. We've sailed twice in the last two years out of San Juan - both times they didn't start accepting luggage until about 10:15 and you have to line up to drop your luggage off with the porters.  We arrived about 10 am and waited in line both times.  I don't know if it's always that way, but was our experience the last two cruises.

  11. I've always used the pre-concierge e-mail address to book NCL excursions in the past.  When I tried for our cruise last December they told me they didn't have access to book shore excursions.  I found it interesting that the letter that came with the luggage tags said to contact them to book excursions.  Not sure if it's something they don't do any more or the guy who answered the e-mail just didn't want to be bothered.

  12. Update:  After following St. John Bracelet Co on Facebook we decided to go with them.  Took a taxi from Havensight to Red Hook and caught the 9 am ferry across.  Found just what I wanted at St. John Bracelet Co. - purchased my yellow gold bracelet and husband bought a silver and gold hook bracelet.  They didn't have his in stock so he had to wait for them to make it and ship it to us.  We are very pleased with our experience with them and the jewelry we purchased.  I recommend them highly.
