How much are you planning to pack? We pack for 5-7 days and would do laundry once, maybe twice in 12 days. But plenty of people pack enough that they have no need to do laundry.

What is the charge per bag?  How do you pre order the bag?  Is this option offered throughout the cruise?

We upgraded from an Ocean View to Balcony with a minimum bid in December.

I bid for an upgrade as soon as I was sent an email.  We sail in three weeks and still have not gotten a response.  How long before they upgrade?  I am thinking of just having my travel agent upgrade for me.

  3. Has anyone taken an early flight from Barcelona at the end of their cruise?  My travel agent has me on a direct flight home leaving at 10:40 am.  I don't see anyway that a person can get off the ship, locate their luggage, board a bus to the airport and make it on time.  The flight is listed on the Princess website and I assume they would not list a flight that is impossible to make.  Any ideas?

  4. COVID-19 Testing Requirements

Sailings from the United States2: We will also require ALL fully vaccinated guests to produce a negative, medically-observed COVID-19 test (PCR or antigen) taken within two days of their embarkation on all Princess sailings. You'll be required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test upon arrival in the terminal to board.

My April 11th cruise from SF still shows 2 days.  Maybe they will change it in April.  One can hope.

It's two days if you are "fully vaccinated" and three days if you're "up to date" which means boosted.

If you go to your summary page, there should be a red box at the very top that says Update Health & Travel Advisory. Click on that and it will tell you what's required for your sailing.

    My bet on testing requirement:

Best scenario: No negative result required for vaccinated guests.

Good scenario: Extend the test time period from 2 days to 4 days before cruise (same as NCL).

I totally agree.  I have a cruise April 11th and hope my vaccination card will be sufficient.  I hate to stress about getting a negative test to board and hoping the results come before the ship leaves.

ok after 1 1/2 hours got someone on phone...all about not filling out app...told them i have an i phone 6 which won't load app...they suggested i buy a new phone...i am perfectly happy with current phone and not about to buy new phone just to go on a cruise...after round and round they took all my info over the phone...same info i used to just enter on my laptop but no longer able to do that as it is all about the app...ultimately sorted out though i still have to sign some forms pier side...

sorry princess execs but you really really need to get your act together for those of us that don't want and don't need more gadgets in our lives just to board a ship....you are overloading your staff to fill out info that could very easily be filled out online on a computer like it has been for past 20 years...

I agree.  My 91 year old Dad does not even have a cell phone, so hope it won't be too difficult when getting to the port.  Wish we had the alternative to enter the information online.

I booked a Princess cruise about a year ago. I paid the deposit at that time, and made the final payment a few weeks ago. In between time I bought Princess' Vacation Protection insurance; bought it early to start the "60 day pre-existing" clause.  One major reason I bought Princess' insurance for this trip was the CFAR reason provision, which I snipped and included here.

My question is has anyone used that provision to cancel "on their own", such as they just changed their mind after paying the final payment? And how long is that Princess future cruise credit valid? I thought I read somewhere it was only until April 2022 to book something. I like to be prepared.😳

I just canceled a cruise we were supposed to be on January 31st.  I was fearful that my 91 year old Dad may catch the virus, otherwise my husband and I would have gone.  We got a credit which has to be used by the end of the year.

Good luck to you my friend. I hope you have a safe and great cruise.  I’m still not going to take the chance of getting the Covid Virus and being locked in my cabin for the rest of the the cruise.

I agree.  I just canceled my cruise on the Ruby for January 31st.  I don't want to be locked in a room by myself in the covid wing if I test positive.  Not after paying all that money for a cruise.  I will rebook during the summer and hope things have calmed down by then.

I am thinking of canceling our cruise sailing January 31st.  My travel agent said the money paid would be refunded as a credit for a future cruise but must be used by the end of this year.

Added to the 1-800-Princess intro message today is information about allowing penalty free rebooking for cruises inside the 30 day cancellation deadline.  Call in and listen for yourself if you are uncomfortable with your upcoming sailing.

I just called my travel agent regarding our cruise sailing January 31st.  We can cancel and all money returned as a credit towards another cruise which expires the end of this year.

Just got an email from my travel agency. They are no longer able to give obc due to princess policies. They will only give rebates after the cruise. Any thoughts. Does this sound correct?

My cruise in January of next year shows I have a $50 shipboard credit from my travel agent.  Will have to wait and see if that is removed?

We have a 10/31/21 sailing booked for a south-bound coastal on the Ruby. Right now, I'm about 80% confident that it will sail. My thinking is that California is opening back up and Ensenada will probably be open as well. Maybe wishful thinking, but 80% confident.

I just booked this same cruise.  Between NCL and Princess, I have had four cruises canceled because of covid.  I am still a bit hesitant about cruising this year, but glad knowing I can cancel before final payment is due and not lose any money.  I sure hope things will be safe by the end of October.

Just checked NCL website, searched for cruise, no specific type.....first month showing availability: September....

I just checked my cruise the end of August and it is still showing that I booked it, but not allowing others to do so until September.  I guess I will hear something from my travel agent next week.  This will be my second canceled cruised this year.

This is inaccurate. I am on the NCL Website right now and I selected the earliest listed month (August) and it appears I can book a Cabin on the Breakaway to Canada/NE for the August 29th-September 5th cruise.

So not ALL Canada and not ALL New York cruises are cancelled until late October.

I am on this cruise and I check daily and it has not been canceled.  I even tried to book a shore excursion and it allowed me to do so.  Not sure why it is not canceled since we are sailing to Canada, but it is still on the website and allows bookings.

    Does that stop in Canada?

Yes, it has two stops in Canada so I was surprised it has not been canceled yet.  I thought maybe they were hoping things would change by the end of August with the vaccine, but I doubt it.  My March cruise was canceled this year and I have another the end of January 2022.  Hopefully that one will not be canceled.

Unfortunately, this is exactly the problem with resuming cruises.  Until a vaccine is available and required of all passengers, cruising ain’t gonna happen.

I agree.  I have a cruise the end of March, but unless there is a vaccine by then, I will cancel. it just shows that even if everyone tests negative, the virus can still be present and spread.
