We’ll be on luminosa for 3 cruises starting feb 4 to beginning of March.  He has mobility issues but we’re looking for ideas of things to see and do while on board and in Brisbane.  I already booked a days Brisbane excursion.  Any other ideas are welcome.  I would love to snorkel.  Anything with stained glass. Ideas welcome

Hi RE Guru. Just had a look at the other cruises you are doing. Great Barrier Reef is a good cruise. Lots to see & experience our tropical north. On our cruise you will have opportunities to snorkel at Mystery Island & Lifou. Not sure how long you have in Brisbane but I would suggest visiting the Gold Coast (about 90 mins drive south from Brisbane City). Australia Zoo (Steve Irwin) again about 90 mins drive north from Brisbane City. In Brisbane itself, South Bank & Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.

    Steve.

  2. It was set up the same way on our cruise for the ice skating tickets as was for shireboi.

Plenty of shows, in the afternoon or early evening. There were always some spare seats. You could line up and if available, they would let you in about 5-10 mins before the start (without tickets).

In fact they announced for one show that there were spare seats, no tickets required for those spare seats.

Also if in a suite or diamond or higher you could get tickets - limited number available - from the diamond lounge.

Great show and we had terrific guest artists - must have had ten or more costume changes while skating - quite amazing.

    Thanks!

  3. Ice skating tended to be on around 2pm - there were tickets with dates times at the Service Desk - just check early in your cruise. People would line up with and without tickets - show that we went to near the end of the cruise was mainly empty - there's plenty of seats in that space

Check the details on your cruise compass - it will be on the front page !!

This was a 7 day HK to Sing in mid Oct 2016

    Thanks!

  4. Hi Folks,

We have purchased drink packages on VOS in March. Not sure on this but can anyone confirm that you can use your package on land at Mystery Island. We have done the south pacific before but this is the first time to Mystery Island.

Love to no if this can be done.

    Thanks,

    Steve.

  5. Hi all,

I've been looking into drinks packages for our radiance cruise next year and I'm wondering, at $68aud per day is it really worth it for the ultimate package? This will add an extra $1000 to our trip and we are wondering if we should splurge or not

    Thanks :)

    Hi,

I agree totally with the comment made about sea days. The last cruise we went on we had a total of 7 sea days out 10 & well & truly made good use of the drinks package. Spent WELL OVER the 10 day figure. In 2013 we did Alaska & because there was so many port days 4 out 7 it was not good value.

    Hope this helps.

    Steve.

  6. Just booked a one way flight with Qantas, Perth to Sydney for our Voyager OTS 16th March 2015 @ $199. Sale ends in 4 days on 19/6. :D

Thanks for the heads up. We are taking Voyager, looks like after you from Perth to Singapore. Need flights from Brisbane to Perth. Going to check into it now!

  7. We are going on our first cruise in July - Barrier Reef Discovery on the Pacific Jewel. On the "cruise control" section of the P&O website you can pre book the tours, and pay on board. Does anyone know if you are then 100% committed? I know they can fill up, but want to have time yo have a good look at them, they are very expensive.

    Hi,

Haven't been on P&O in a few years but on other lines when you make your booking you pay for them in full then there. I guess if you change your mind it would depend on how the tour is booked to getting a refund.

  8. Hi, we were in Noumea on a sunday and yes the pastry shop is open. There is a little supermarket next door and you can grab cold drinks from there to have while you eat your pastries in the pastry shop ( we had a guide with us who assured us that is was done all the time) the bread is to die for, so are the little custard filled donuts, they aslo have a good range of filled bagguettes and specialty cakes, my son had the opera cake and couldn't stop raving about it. Yum!!

    Cheers maree

    Thanks Maree.

    Did they take AUS$ ?
