Got an email today to move from our guarantee Oceanview rooms to balcony cabins.
We originally booked one Oceanview and one interior cabin, and then we jumped into the guarantee pool, moved both cabins to Oceanviews and saved 500 dollars.
Today's email offered an upgrade for both cabins to balconies on the lido deck for 220 total. And, our rooms were assigned, so I don't have to worry about the kids being assigned a bit away from our cabin.
I thought this was a good deal-I am still ahead by 300 from the original booking!
We've not had a balcony before. Can the divider between the balconies be opened? Will we be able to go back to an interior cabin in the future or will we be too spoiled?
Less than 60 days until we cruise from San Juan! So excited!

Can you give me some specifics about Priceline's description of the hotel? We booked directly with the hotel for March 14-but that is refundable, so if I can get a better rate, that would be wonderful! Thanks.

Just did it today with great results. Had 3 spa cabins booked for Christmas cruise. I could save $2100 by switching to gty (thus losing the spa benefits). 18/20yo in one cabin, 15 yo twins in second, and DH and I in third. Since with a gty, you don't know where you'll be placed, they made us switch one twin with mom, one with dad. A few hrs later, our rooms were assigned. All three rooms on same hallway with a few rooms in between AND $2100 in savings!!
I switched our kids from an interior to an ocean view-figured there would be less a chance of them being on a completely different floor-and we still saved over $500. Keeping my fingers crossed that they end up relatively close to us.

Thanks for the reply. We are definitely considering this!

We have two cabins booked for our cruise in March-one for us and one for our kids. We could save a lot of money if we switched to this sale, but I am worried that we will end up on opposite sides of the ship. Does anyone have any experience with this?

With the age of your kids, I think you'll be fine. We did an ocean view with our two kids when they were about your kids' ages. This year, however, we are taking them on the
Valor in March, and we got them a room across the hall from us. We decided that it would be worth the extra $250 because my son is now over six feet tall and my daughter is taller than me too.

My rate stayed the same, but I was still eligible for the OBC. My forms were denied, but the telephone rep was very helpful. Two cabins- $140 OBC! Yay!

So the price of my cruise went up with this offer. I'm paid in full and have called twice to try to just get the OBC, but have been denied both times. I sent the form in and put in the notes that I don't want my fare to go up I was just hoping to get some OBC. What do yall think my chances are?

Thanks so much for posting the pic. Was there a couch in the room?

Our family is booked for the Valor in March 2015. We are traveling with our kids (15&17), so we have excursions booked in almost every port-except St. Thomas where we will probably go to Coki or Sapphire.
St. Marteen - Robinsons speed boat
St. Lucia- Herod's land and sea
Barbados- Calabaza
St. Kitts-my island tours-Javin
Worried that we will be exhausted-but operating under the idea that it may be the last time our spring breaks coincide.
DH and I did this itinerary on the Victory a few years ago and loved it! At that time we did Spencer Ambrose in St. Lucia and Silver Moon in Barbados. We wouldn't hesitate to do either of those tours again. We also did a lot more lounging on beaches and drinking local beers than we will this time!
Have a fabulous time!

How was your cabin? We have 2474 booked on the Valor in March, and I am curious.

We are booked with Herod's in March of next year. It did take about a week for a response. He also asked if we'd try to recruit more people from our roll call.
I contacted him through the website .

Excellent! We are booked on the land and sea tour through Herod's. We contacted him through his website and he responded within a week.
We are getting excited and the cruise is a long way away!

Thanks for all of the information. I think we are going to try to book Herod's. This sounds like the best combination of land and sea to us.

We are interested in booking a tour with Cosol next March. Most posters agree that the bus ride back to the pier is long, but some mention a boat ride or a water taxi. Is there a way to boat back rather than bus? I know Spencer Ambrose has this option; we did it two years ago-does Cosol? Or is there an independent operator?

Just wanted to let you know that my son left his iPod behind on our last cruise. We called immediately when we got home, and the ship was already out to sea; however, when it returned to port we got a phone call that it had been found in our cabin. Carnival mailed it back to us. My son was so happy, and we were so impressed.

One slight disappointment was that the drinks were very weak. I know we could have asked for something other than the rum punch, but we didn't bother. We each ended up with 4 or 5 drinks and we were both still sober when we finished. Weird, but I guess we can't complain since they were free! Haha The waiters were really great about making sure everyone always had a drink in their hands. Once our cup was half empty, they brought us another drink!
We were on this cruise too, and I am laughing because I thought the drinks were strong! My children still haven't gotten over the embarrassment of me dancing with the waiters at dinner! (I am certain that the rum played a key role in that display.) We loved everything about this cruise; it's the second time we've done this itinerary.
