We are going in September,  and its showing $788 for a cabana.  Is that a pretty typical price?

Yes that is typical for the prices. Generally we split it among other people who go on the cruise with us as that brings the price down per person but if it’s just the four of you then that may be a lot.

  2.  I am sorry I have to disagree on the room.  A GS is about 100 ft.² larger than a JS.  Because you’re going to have about four people in the room you will need that extra space. The balcony is also larger. More people will be able to sit outside with ease.  If you can really do it I would go with the GS instead,  but I would agree with others that say once you have a larger suite sometimes it is harder to go to smaller one. We started out in an interior then a balcony then JS.

Because it is your first cruise with RCI you will have a great time. Speak to your room attendant when you get in and talk to him for a few minutes to let him know how you want things set up in the room.   With the GPS you could have the couch bed set up and still get to the balcony.  If you decide not to go with the GS you may look into the Soda refreshment plan, that may be a cool thing to do.

  3.  They provide toiletries in EVERY cabin.  In JS you have slightly better ones.  If your cabin room attendant comes every day yes they will give you new Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in your bathroom. You’ll have to bring your own toilet paper 😜, just kidding.  All will be provided for you if you asked for it.

  4. We are scheduled to go on a cruise in a few weeks the 29th to be exact. I plan to get everything together then drop 1/3 of it. As some clothes you can re-wear. The only person who will know you rewore them are you and photographer if they happen to catch you. As a guy I had brought different ties and two different jackets and three shirts for the entire time.

  5. I'm going to be diamond after my upcoming October cruise. In preparation, I've purchased:

    - Top hat

    - Monocle

    - Swagger stick

    - Cardboard backing to predominately display my pin without wrinkling my lapel

    - An ****load of lanyards with clear SeaPass holders

    Anything I'm missing?

    Baby elephants to ride on.

  6. Not sure what you are asking, but will take a stab at it. Some piers have carts from boat to end of dock, but that is it. Now that I think I have seen carts in shopping ports but I had my scooter and didn’t think about if they were for rent.

I get a scooter and it gets me around. It is small and can be broken down for trunk of cars. Special needs at sea is what we use. It fits most rooms and 2 might take up some space.

  7. As others have said ask about perks next time. We cruise 1-2 times a year and every other year we go BIG. Our TA knows this and we always get something. Free specialty restaurant, OBC and free spa treatment. Next time ask around.

    This is a learning experience

  8. As someone who has been on Anthem, Allure and Oasis it will be a challenge for him. I use a scooter as I have had spinal surgery and can no longer walk far without resting. Since this is his first time, I would get it just in case. He will need to practice using it though. The ships are BIGGER than people think. As to the elevator issue just be forceful. My wife blocks people from getting in front of me as some don’t care. Most are considerate, small kids and teenagers not so much. But I digress. It will fit in the room, the stateroom attendant will fix bed placement. It will be better to have and not use than for him to be tired and not be able to get around.
