  1. To Danish Viking and/or anyone else with knowledge about Copenhagen:

My husband and I will be in port in Copenhagen for one evening and a full day on the Viking Star the first couple days of April.  The cruise includes a three hour walking tour for the morning and then we will be free for the entire afternoon and evening.  Suggestions for what we should do such as Viking Museum or food tour....is there a hop on hop off bus and is it worthwhile?  Restaurant suggestions?  It sounds in reading the various comments that taxis may be hard to access so assuming Viking Cruises will have shuttle bus or give us information on how to get around.

Also our plane leaves at 9:00 am the next day.  Suggestions for transportation to the airport?  We are willing to hire a private car if necessary so any recommendations would be appreciated.

  2. My husband and I are taking a Viking City of Antiquity tour Cruise in November and will be arriving three days ahead to spend more time in Athens. We would like suggestions for a nice hotel in a good location for walking to nearby sites and restaurants. The hotel doesn't have to be high end but clean, quiet, helpful staff. We would also like to have a private tour, it can be a van tour, and possibly venture outside the City of Athens for a day.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

  3. Has anyone taken a Viking Star or other Viking Ocean Ship D-Day excursion from either the Cherbourg or Le Havre ports? I know that Cherbourg is closer but when I looked at the excursion narrative it looks like you mostly see the sites from a bus. The Le Havre trip takes longer but involves more stops at places I wish to see. I also am exploring a private tour but it's very expensive and requires others to participate to make it reasonable.

FYI I did look under the port section of the boards but didn't find information relevant to Viking Ocean Cruises.

  4. I am an infrequent cruiser but was intrigued by the Viking Star Cruise Passage to Western Europe as the advertised itinerary indicates several stops in Spain and Portugal and then on to France, UK, Norway. It is hard to find south-north cruises, which is why I booked this for April 22, 2017. Now I've been reading that in fact there are four days at sea when the advertised itinerary has two days at sea. If this is the case I am wondering what to do? Do I contact my travel agent or Viking to determine the real itinerary? If it is in fact four days how should I proceed given the trip is already paid for?
