  1. Hi! We were on this cruise too and had a great time! I traveled with my husband and two boys (10 & 11).

Pwppaul - the Platinum/Diamond party was at 4:30 on the last Sea Day. I'm guessing that is what you are refering too.

My boys did the Sky ride and loved it! We were up there playing golf the afternoon that we were in Cozumel. They were fixing one of the bikes and we waited while they did it and the kids jumped in line and were the 2nd ones on.

We had early dining in the MDR. The food was good. The service was slow. We never could figure it out. We didn't let it get to us, but it's hard to wait so long with kids.

Hubby and the boys saw Lego: Batman in the IMAX on the last sea day. They said it's a full size theater and really enjoyed it.

The Arcade is next to the theater. The kids spend a bit of money there. I gave them a certain amount to spend so they wouldn't go nuts.

We loved Matt! Flick and America Rocks were great! Those were the only 2 we went to see. Get there early to get a good seat. We never made it to a comedy show.

A lot has already been covered. That's my 2 cents to add. :)

  2. Wishing your wife an easy and full recovery! Hope you are back their on a ship in no time! I lost my entire colon 3+ years ago to a perforation. It was a rough recovery and the first thing I did once I felt well enough was to book a cruise!!

    Best wishes to you both!!!

  3. Yes. You can drop kids off for dinner and kids club time. It will be posted in the kids schedule - pick it up the first day. You will be able to drop them off at the buffet - they have a special area for the kids. They feed them and then take them back to Camp Carnival and you can pick them up later.

    Enjoy! :)

  4. I'm guessing so too. My mom won't be happy about the no string lights. She has a small strand that is run on a couple AA batteries that she likes to hang in the bathroom in case she needs to get up at night. Oh well.

A magnetic touch light is great for the bathroom. I put it on the inside of the door and you just have to tap it. That way you don't have to turn on the big light.

The flameless, led candles are great little night lights.

    :)

  5. We sailed out in early December last year. It was rainy and cold the first sea day, but we made the most of it. We curled up on the serenity deck with blankets and a good book and loved it. Then it was warmer and sunny by the second sea day. Coming home it started cooling off the last sea day. The cover on the lido deck was great for Dive in Movies! I have sailed from Baltimore in May, June, Aug and Dec. I would do any of them all over again. Always pros and cons. :) Whatever you do...ENJOY!

  6. We will be sailing out of Baltimore for a seven day Carnival cruise during Thanksgiving week to the Bahamas. I know it will be chilly when departing and at some point when returning, but I don't want to pack too many heavy clothes if not necessary. If you have sailed out of Baltimore during cooler months, can you advise how many days at sea should I expect the weather to be cold?

I sailed out of Baltimore last December. It was chilly the first day. I was comfortable outside in a sweatshirt. We had rain on the first sea day and hung out under cover on the Serenity deck in long sleeves and blankets. It was cozy. After that we were nice and warm in summer clothes. I would take something warm for the first and last day and then typical summer clothes the rest of the time.

Enjoy! I love the Pride and sailing out of Baltimore! :)

  7. I booked a day pass for Grand Lucayan through them. When we got to the resort they didn't even ask for the paperwork. We just handed over the $20 balance and went in. I guess if the resort was sold out for the day the pass would have helped. I viewed it that the $5 deposit was a safety net to get us in.

  8. I was there last Friday. There is a shuttle from the port to the Grand Lucayan. It's $10 roundtrip and is about a 15 minute ride. Tell the shuttle driver where you want to go. Ours made a couple stops. We had purchased our day pass through Shore Excursioneer, but it didn't matter. They didn't even look at my papers. There were about 10 people in line to go in. We just handed over $20 and off we went. Make sure when you pay and go through the gate you turn left for the Grand Lucayan. No one told us and we went to the beach on the right and ended up at a different resort!

The shuttles run every half hour back to the port. They do try to fill the shuttle before they leave.

    Have Fun!
