  1. Hi, I am wondering if anyone out there has used the Key program on the Independence. We are considering it for our cruise next year, and I can’t seem to find anywhere if it includes special hours just for the rock climbing wall and flow rider, or if there are any special times for the water slides or other special features on the ship as well. Thanks very much!

  2. Unfortunately, I read on the Royal Caribbean blog that the Thursday stop in Labadee was cancelled too. Looks like they want to make sure everything has settled down before returning. We're supposed to be stopping there on our cruise in less than three weeks but I'm not counting on it.

  3. Hi, this might seem like a bit of a strange question, but could anyone tell me if there is a payphone anywhere in Terminal 1 that you can use when leaving the ship before you reach the customs area? We are from outside the U.S., and are using a car service to pick us up at the port after our cruise. We have been asked to call them to let them know we are there just before we enter the customs area so that the driver can pull up and be waiting for us in the parking garage. Our cell phone company sells an international roaming plan that we could purchase for the duration of our trip, but I hate to spend $20 on it when we only will need to make that one phone call when we are disembarking.

Thanks very much for your help,

  4. I was hoping I could ask a quick question of anyone that has rented one of the cabanas before? Is a specific cabana assigned to you, or do you just pick whatever one you would like when you arrive at Royal Palms?

    Thanks very much,

  5. Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me with a quick question. Our family is dropping off a rental car at the Alamo facility in Port Canaveral prior to our cruise. I have heard that they don't start running shuttles to the port until 10:30 a.m., but we would like to head over at 10:00 a.m. so that we can try to get in line and on the ship as early as possible. Does anyone know if I would have to call a cab in advance to pick us up at Alamo, and can you recommend any cab companies for us to use? Thanks so much for your help.

  6. Thank you so much for the great review - I have a quick question regarding the cabana that you booked at the Royal Palms. I looked at your photo and am trying to figure out if there is any shade for the loungers that come with the cabana. I can see that the table is in the cabana itself, but wasn't sure if there is any sort of sun protection on the loungers. I can tolerate the sun for awhile but don't think I would last the entire day without an umbrella. Thanks again!

  7. Hello everyone,

I'm writing to seek your help if possible. My parents are booked on a cruise on the Celebrity Silhouette this Sunday, March 1. This will be there second time on the Silhouette, but unlike their last cruise (when they arrived when they wanted to at the port, around 11:30 a.m.) they received an email today from Celebrity that read as follows:

"Hello, this is Celebrity Cruises. We would like to provide you with important information regarding your sailing on March 1, 2015, onboard Celebrity Silhouette. To enhance your check-in and boarding experience, we ask that you arrive to the terminal based on your assigned decks. 12:00 to 12:30 PM = Deck 10; 12:30 to 1:00 PM = Deck 9; 1:00 to 1:30 PM = Deck 12 & Deck 6; 1:30 to 2:00 PM = Deck 8; 2:00 to 2:30 PM = Deck 7; 2:30 to 3:00 PM = Deck 11 & Deck 3. We invite our Suites and Zenith guests to arrive anytime between 11:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, and look forward to welcoming you onboard the Celebrity Silhouette."

Is this something new, and are they actually required to respect the designated times for the deck on which their cabin is located, or can they still arrive anytime from 12:00 p.m. on and board when they wish?

Thanks so much in advance for your help on this,

    MouseGirl

  8. What a wonderful review - I absolutely loved it!! Thanks for including so many great details, and I know the information you shared will help us in planning our family's February 2016 Freedom cruise. I made note of lots of the things you mentioned for future reference. So glad that you had such a nice time with your family, and I hope you enjoy your next cruise on Independence of the Seas.

    Best regards,
