  1. This happened to us too. 😔 On your upgrade notice does it reference anything about “due to cdc guidelines...”? If so, it’s due to that being a quarantine location and being moved back isn’t possible. In the end, it worked out for us after being moved to the stern in an uncovered balcony “their kind upgrade” to working with my PVP and ending up with a mini-suite upgrade with our beloved extended balcony midship. If it’s just a general upgrade, definitely decline the offer. Good luck!

  2. Update...It seems like a lot of people are getting cabins changed lately.  I believe cabin choice is very important so that’s why I book so far in advance. After much thinking, I called Princess and asked to move from that aft balcony to another room. I pleaded my case as best I could and hoped for the best🤞. I know flexibility is important now but figured I’d at least try. Long and behold,  I received a call today with an upgrade from my deluxe angled balcony to a angled balcony mini-suite. Very excited.

  3. Ugh— I just saw my nice large extended balcony on Dolphin (which we booked years ago and requested no upgrade ) was changed to a aft cabin on aloha 🤨.I'm trying to get my old cabin back but I see in the email about the “upgrade” they can’t move us back—-I’ve been reading that may be due to quarantine section🤷🏻‍♀️I’ve never been in an aft balcony. How is movement back there. Can people look down into our balcony space or is it covered? Please help me get excited about this change.

We are sailing in 2021 with friends on the Sky Princess. We have cabins next to each other, D424 and D428. Does anyone  know if these balconies open to each other on the Sky Princess?

    TIA!

On Regal, we had these exact rooms and we did open the divider on the balconies. We had no issues at all. Looks like Skyhas the same layout so hopefully you'll have no issues either.

It must be.  That isn't an option for us because there's no cabins available in our category or above for either cruise, and on one of them we have a nice amount of booking promo OBC.  Our friends are on the latter cruise in the same situation were able to pay $30 per person per day to get tips + beverages and keep the original OBC, but they didn't have a casino discount.  Our TA will keep trying but as of now there still isn't anyone who was able to simply take the buy up amenity option and have that added to a current cruise booked with a casino discount

My cabin category was also all sold out and that's why other princess travel people kept saying I couldn't refare with the BSE promotion. I just don't know why it's such a hassle and why so many people get different responses. Obviously it really comes down to someone knowledgeable and finding ways around the blocks.

I've never gotten a casino discount. My son does but he doesn't gamble. My mom does but she passed away 8 yrs ago. I donate regularly to the casino bit no discount!! Guess they figure I will do so without one 🤑

When I originally booked this cruise, there was no mention of casino discount. Then when I called for another promotion, I was then informed of a casino discount listed. Both my husband and I play when onboard but I didn't think enough to get a discount. Maybe he's playing more than I think😉.

Did you have perks when you originally booked your cruise and if so did you keep them?  Is "Rosalind" from Princess?

Yes Rosalind was a princess person. My usual Person has been away on vacation. Yes, I did lose a speciality dining and some OBC but with the addition of the BSE perks, my price only went up $115 total. Not sure where that number came from but I'll take it! I still made out better and I'm very happy with it.

I'm wondering if she refared under BSE promotion and added casino discount after. I kept my same cabin as it's my favorite location. I did need to put a deposit down (that's why I think refare) but that didn't matter because I paid in full anyway (it was due this week).

    Winner winner chicken dinner!

  8. Wahoo!! After many different people all saying different things as to why I couldn't combine the BSE promotion and keeping my casino discount, I FINALLY got someone who figured it out. 🎉Rosalind tried to do it herself but kept coming up with not being able to but she had the insight to get someone who was able to do it.

Just goes to to show you-keep trying various people and don't give up!

Final payment was due in a week so quickly jumped and made full payment today (didn't want anyone to change anything)😉. Sky Princess here we come!! So excited.

  9. I know there's a very long thread with this topic but I haven't seen any updates recently on whether someone has been able to get the new BSE promotion combined with the casino discount. I've tried multiple times-even reading them the small print from the princess PDF promotion on how it states it is combinable. No luck. If someone did it, please tell me how.

Might anyone know if there could be any issues with booking a cabin on Dolphin (9th deck?) Just curious, as I notice that similar grade balcony cabins on 11th deck have sold out much faster than on 9 or 10. Are the higher floors generally more popular due to higher and better view and/more convenient to pool/other top floor amenities? Or is there something I'm missing about the Dolphin Deck that may be a negative?

Flafunn888, we were in a dolphin extended balcony cabin midship on Regal this past spring and absolutely loved it. Very quiet and easy to get to everything. No obstructions below as the promenade open deck seating was there and low enough from the skywalk that there was only a slight blue light seen at night. We loved it so much that we've booked both the sky and enchanted in the same location/cabin❣️👍🌴

    We've also asked.

We were told they have to turn the extra cash tips in, then accounts are checked and , if the automatic tips (or whatever you want to call them) have been left on the account the cash is returned to the employee. If the automatic tips have been removed the cash goes into the pool.

I'm not talking about the odd dollar or two you give an employee (like the room service delivery person) - I'm referring to the sometimes substantial tips you may give a certain person because of exemplary service.

I also asked a few crew members on my recent cruise. Each one said they got to keep it and didn't need to turn it in.  I handed them substantial cash, no envelope. How would princess know they received this money? Is it an honor system? I guess I'm just trying to figure out how princess would know someone received the "extra $". And in case you're wondering, no I didn't remove gratuities 🙂

  12. I just got off the Regal and absolutely loved the Sanctuary. It was wonderful to have "my space" every day from 8-6p. It was heaven. I RAN the moment I got on the ship (some of the first ones there) and barely had options available since others had booked already (due to first b2b before us). The scones are to die for😋. As stated, it's a place for quiet and relaxing- nothing going on in this area for entertainment-except maybe some snoring😂

I downloaded and completed the Ocean Ready app months ago and have called Princess 3 times regarding the delivery of our medallions, and they just said that it is on its way with no way to check the status. We leave Friday for the 4/7 and 4/14 cruises on Regal and have received nothing.

We are on this cruise with you and received them about a week ago. When you go on your ocean ready app and look in your medallion section, it should say "on the way" when you click on details. Do you see that? If not, at this point, I would just plan that you'll get them at check-in. 1 week from today 🛳🌴🎉🎉

Thanks for the info! Was there any info on the Captain,Hotel General Manager and Entertainment Director?I called Princess last year about no longer receiving the precruise emails and they told me that my travel agent had requested that they be discontinued. She said that she never did that and called Princess and asked that the emails be reinstated which they never did.

So silly of me, of course you want to know the captain 😊

In one email it said-"greetings from the bridge" so I'm guessing he's the captain: Tim Stringer. I couldn't find anything in the emails about those others you asked about.

There also was something about prebooking photo pkg: $199 vs $249 onboard.

Everything else was just links back to the princess site about that item. Just general information, no details specifically (like the guest entertainment or the specialty dining).

You must be a planner like me. No surprises please. Let me find out as much as ai can beforehand 👍

First time on Regal for me so I'm super excited to see it. She looks like a beauty. I just can't wait to get into warm weather and shorts. Let's get this vacation started 🛳🌴🍹

Can you share that with us who don't get that info? Thanks!

    Here you go johnmik1-

We received our medallions last week. Pretty cool looking. Can't wait to see how they work out.

But here are the two important questions you probably have...

    Ignazio D'Agostino, your maître d

You will want to go straight up to the sanctuary when you board the ship to book your chairs or cabana.  There will most likely be a line.  It can book up quickly if the cruise is close to selling out or sold out.  Also, the guests that are doing B2B cruises have most likely already booked their chairs/cabana for the week. You will love the sanctuary.  Have a wonderful trip!

Do the B2B cruisers get to book the sanctuary for both segments of their cruise at the beginning of their trip?

  17. Missed that promo this trip but hope to get It for the next🤞. While running the numbers, it looks like we'd be right at that break even point or better since we'll have 4 days pretty much onboard out of the 7.  Thinking it'd be nice not to have to worry about what I'm spending or drinking😉. Vacation is a time to relax and not worry about things, right?!🌴🌞🍹🛳

  18. Hi all. Thinking about buying the premium beverage package for our upcoming cruise. We've never splurged before for one but this time we think we are. What have you seen as pros and cons. More importantly, is there a time you need to wait between getting your next drink? Also, if both my husband and I have it, do each of us have to go up for the drink or can one get for both?

I use a princess cruise planner. So I just go in and put the cruise on hold. I now have until Feb. 15th to either come up with a deposit or to cancel. On the 14th I will call up my planner and I will tell Mary that I want the room but I want to book under her. So I will get her 100 OBC plus the cruise for a dollar.

FWIW my prefer room was not available so I had to shift. Apparently very popular. Also just reserved the Grand rt SF so now I just have 2 days to decide which one

Ombud, I understand your creative planning but am wondering why you'd get an additional $100 OBC? Is it better to go thru the PCP than just do online yourself?

  20. Thank you all for the feedback. I'm definitely more a balcony person than inside space person. I've never had anything bigger than a balcony room so I guess I won't know what I'm missing by not upgrading to the mini-suite. 😉  So with that, I've decided to stay where I am not only because of the extended balcony we have but also I found out the other couple we are going with (we have side by side staterooms) didn't get the offer so we'd miss having that opportunity to open the connecting balcony piece (both of us have extended balconies) and miss getting to hang out on our balconies with each other. Now hopefully the weather will be beautiful so we can get full enjoyment from out wonderful balcony🤞.

Mini Suites really are no different in perks then your balcony cabin. The cabin would be bigger and perhaps in a better location but location, that's subjective. The price could be a good deal if it's a longer cruise, not a 3-5 night one.

We're on a 7 night cruise. Checking prices today, if we booked either the mini 1 deck up mid-aft or the extended balcony on deck 15 middle, it'd be only a $325 difference once we'd pay the additional $ they'd want. Such a hard choice.

Are there any other minis open with the extended balcony?   If so, maybe you could ask for one of them.

I thought of that but the only ones they have would be on deck 15. I've never sailed before that high up 😬. Also, From what I've read on cruise critic, I'd be right under the skywalk and people looking into our balcony. Not sure if I'd like that.
