  1. jkadventures, we are doing that cruise in April.  Avalon has been of no help regarding getting to the port if you don't book their transfer from the airport or their pre-cruise stay in Paris, but we plan to take a taxi from Dijon, about a half hour away.  The town looks very small, so it shouldn't be too hard to find, and hopefully we will get a more exact location a couple days prior.

  2. We are taking our first Avalon cruise in April, through Burgundy & Provence.  Both ports seem to be tiny towns, starting in St Jean-de-Losne and ending in Port St-Louis. Any tips on embarkation/disembarkation from those who've been there?

We have pre- and post-cruise plans so will not be going directly to/from the airport in either case.  We plan to stay in Dijon the night before the cruise, which is only about a half hour from the port, hoping it will not be difficult to get a taxi or Uber?

At the end, we will be making our way to Antibes, either by train or rental car,  so will need to get to the train station (Istres, or Marseilles) or rental office (Port de Bouc).  Will there be taxis available or will the ship assist us in booking one?  And what is the usual timeframe for disembarking? I assume they want us off early so as to ready the ship for the next voyage.

  3. It isn't Journey, they do allow non-professional photography at all their other concerts...I was on this cruise as well, and LOVED the concert but was a bit frustrated by the misinformation and lack of information from Carnival. For me, the VIP tickets were well worth the price, I got to be in the front row which was important to me, and I knew the M&G would be what it was - 100 people herded through a quick photo op (and as expected, Neal didn't show up for that).

  4. Would like to hear from cruisers who have attended a Carnival Live concert, particularly if you did VIP seating - how was it? I see that it says no reserved seats, is that true even for the VIP area, they just reserve a few rows and it's first-come, first-served? Seems like it would be chaos, and not sure how the logistics work if there's a meet-and-greet before the show. How early did folks start lining up to get in?
