We booked a 3 day Comedy Cruise out of Sydney in the hope that it would bring us up to platinum level for our next Princess cruise (in October). We were informed by Princess staff in Oz (the P&O offices actually) that the cruise days would count but not the cruise itself. That meant we would be a few days short of our 50 sailing days.

As the time approached for our October cruise, we checked our Princess Account and saw that we were registered as platinum members. But, our future cruises were showing gold membership. We again called Princess to report this anomoly and was told that yes, we were platinum, but future cruise entries were not automatically updated. The staff member manually changed the status on our bookings, which we could then see on our account.

We printed out revised "preferred boarding passes" and enjoyed our newfound platinum benefits on our October cruise.
