  1. Getting closer to our first cruise!! The biggest question I am thinking about right now is the sail and sign card. I understand that it is your way of charging things on the ship etc. What I am confused about is putting money towards the card and receiving it back (if you put cash on it).

I have no credit cards and don't see myself getting one before this cruise. I want to use cash. I saw that carnival has a required deposit of $100 for 3-5 day cruises and ours is a 5 day cruise. I am going to put more than that on it, but will I have to wait in those dreadful lines that I have read so much about on the last day/night to get those unused funds that were placed on my card? Or will they put a check with my statement? Also, trying to make the check-in process as easy as possible, and I read on carnival's website that I can set up the card account, but my guess is that I can't do that because I am using cash? Thank you in advance. Any information at all about cruising is very appreciated and welcomed :)

My husband and I always use cash for our sign and sail account. We have never had to wait in line that long. We have cruised several times and knew what to expect as far as what we would charge (drink packages, bingo, etc), and how much we would allow my daughter to charge. In the past they gave us a check with our statement on the last night if we didn't spend all our deposit. We checked our balance various times during the cruise (either at the kiosks or in our room on the TV) to make sure it was accurate in order to avoid the long lines at the end of the cruise. Have a wonderful cruise.

  2. Let's have some fun...

What's the strangest thing you've seen or heard on pool deck?

If you have a picture to share, that's a bonus point for you.

Our most recent cruise on the Carnival Magic, there was one particular female passenger who was so intoxicated she could barely walk. She was at the same excursion we were at during the day, so there was no doubt she was drunk. Somehow she made it back to the ship, and sat next to an elderly couple in the loungers on the lido deck. Not soon after she started putting her legs behind her head and started making very vulgar, sexual gestures to the elderly couple in the lounge chair next to her. (mind you she was in a swimsuit at the time) We have taken several cruises with my daughter, and thankfully she was busy playing at the waterpark, while this train wreck was going on.
