Anybody know who the Concierge will be in the Suites lounge on D14.
When we were on last year it was Mihee. She was good and welcomed us with a big hug as she had taken over from Jackie.

We have been on many cruises, most of them we have had inside cabins.
Would like more hanging space. My wife likes her feet pointing to the door and the dark when the door is closed. She would be awake as soon as the sun came up in a balcony cabin. Our TA knows this when we book another cruise. Usually have a cabin on deck 9 so we don't get noise from the swimming pool on deck 11.

Will be on the Freedom on Sunday
-
We did seven last year. This includes one on the Freedom over New Year.
Have six booked for this year including two on the Freedom.
We are silver surfers and like cruising.
Total with RCL is over 60.
-
Our travel agent send us clear plastic luggage tag holders for each cruise. We have several spares so if anybody is on the Freedom on 28th January 2018 I will bring them.
WE copy the paper luggage tags and then laminate them. Punch a hole in one end and tie them to the handle on the case. Cannot be damaged by water and not easily pulled off.

On a recent cruise, my wife and I were the only two passengers who were Pinnacle.
When we became Pinnacle the ceremony was held in the Pyramid lounge with the captain giving us a bottle of champagne.

We were on the Freedom in January for New Year. My wife had a birthday but she does not like to celebrate it. But the Hotel Director knew and our cabin was decorated, we had wine, a bowl of fruit and cards.
Also had a cake with candle brought to the table in the MDR when the waiters sang.
Very enjoyable and we did not have to pay.

Last year on the Independence the coffee machines in bothe the Diamond lounge and the Concierge lounge broke. We were able to get free coffee at the Cafe Promenade on deck 5. Two of the staff were very good and we gave them a special mention in the online survey.
This year we were on the Independence again and saw one of the staff we saw last year.
He managed to come out from behind the servery and talk to us for a few minutes.
He was amazed that we would speak to him when we told him we were ow Pinnacle.
We never wear our badges unless we are going to a special event.
On the survey for this latest cruise we have mentioned the pool attendants as we know they work hard keeping the pool areas clean and tidy under difficult circumstances.
Akward passengers should be re-buked

Anybody know how to contact the concierge by email before cruising?
I have the code for the different ships.
Have tried three different email addresses but none of them work.

Last year on the Independence, I fell and hit my right shoulder outside the Diamond lounge on deck 14. This was after 9.00 p.m. Nothing seemed to be broken. After a restless night I went to the medical center and was first in. Full xray of the shoulder and other tests. No charge. Very good service by staff including security wh had seen it on the monitors.

When I get the paper luggage tag, I cut it and then copy it four times onto an A4 sheet.
I then laminate the sheet and cut the labels. This means I now have eight laminated labels.
Punch a hole in one end and tie it to the case handle. Very difficult to pull off and it will withstand water.
Have never lost one yet and we have been cruising for many years.
If we are flying, only put them on when we have left the airport before we board.
We are from the UK and have sailed from ports in USA many times.

on the Independence last year, saw a passenger go into the MDR wearing a black mini dress with one bare shoulder, very tall heels, a large Afro-carribean hair style and a beard.
We think he was on of a party of tranvestites.
So anything goes on RCL

On Celebrity, both my wife and I got norovirus. My wife went down with it first and then I gay it later. We had very good treatment in the medical centre.
We were confined to the cabin until we had recovered.
Both times the cabin was thoroughly cleaned including the ceilings and walls. Also the corridor outside.
We also had some laundry done free and some compensation when we got home.
On the Independence, I fell as I was going back into the Diamond lounge on deck 14. Hit my left shoulder on one of the columns. This was about 9.00 p.m. Lots of staff came, including security.
Tried to sleep but went to the Medical centre at 7.00 a.m. Doctor came and let me in even though it only opened at 8.00 a.m.
Had Xray but no fracture. Had a sling on for several days. No charge as it happened on the ship. Security said they had a recording of what happened from one of the many security cameras.
We are British and did not have to make a claim on our travel insurance.
Very good service both times.

We have had dinner with the captain twice when we have been on the Celebrity Century.
Also on several RCL ships. The last time was on the Independence in July this year.
We have never been in a Penthouse or similar stateroom. But we always dress up on formal nights.

We flewto San Juan in January. We were one of the last flights to l;eave JFK before the snow storm hit the east coast. We had flown from Manchester, England and changed planes at JFK.
We are going on another cruise from Fort Lauderdale in December. Have booked flights direct from Manchester to Orlando to miss JFK and any bad weather. We do not want to miss the cruise.
So would advise flying a day early and have a look round Barcelona. We have done this flying from the UK which is a much shorter flight.

We are from the UK and our insurance policies are different and seem to give better cover.
I have just renewed my annual policy for myself and my wife. We are both over 80 and I have two medical conditions which I have declared. The cover is world wide excluding Syria and othe Middle East countries.
Cost is £382 for both of us. There is a tax of £76 on top of this but it is still good value.

Thank you everybody for your replies

Does any one have the short letters for the Navigator?
I know it is EX for the Explorer. I have seen a list somewhere on these boards but it was a long time ago.

We have just returned from a cruise on the Adventure sailing from San Juan.
Some passengers did not board as they were delayed due to the snow storm on the east coast of America. We flew from JFK and were on one of the last flights to leave on Friday evening before the snow came.
We have booked another cruise leaving from Fort Lauderdale in December 2016 and are flying direct from Manchester to Orlando the day before our cruise so that we will miss any bad weather.
Our TA discussed the different options about the flights before confirming the booking.
Change your TA.

We would like a table for two in the MDR on our next cruise on the Navigator.
Anyone know the table numbers for the tables for two which are usually near
the pillars at the bottom of the main stair case.
We know the numbers on some of the other RCL ships but not this one

Hello,
We just made Diamond Plus recently and one of the perks is that you can request a preferred location for your dining room table. We are going on the Jewel of the Seas on 1/3 and are hoping to request a large table away from the waiter stations (to be more quiet) but I can't find anything on the internet with a layout of the dining room with the table numbers.
Anyone know where I might find that?
We are D+ and have just had an email to confirm our table number. Having been on the Adventure before we asked for a specific table giving the number.
The table numbers have changed but we have still got a table for two.
Hope you get what you want.

We are D+. I usual go to the Diamond lounge before 5.00 p.m and will save a seat for my wife.
There are usually four seats and we have talked to many different people who have sat with us. We do not save seats unless we know the other people will be in at 5.00 p.m.
Have been in when one passenger has re-arranged seating round one table for at least five other people which have not been occupied until 5.30 p.m.

There are plenty of scams like this.
Had one recently about a purchase I had made from Amazon. But it did not show on the official Amazon site which lists my purchases.
We have won a free cruise with Royal Caribbean. I had sent my details as requested on an email I had from them.
Had forgotten about it when we got a phone call one morning and a confirmation email. This was from Royal Caribbean. We had an eleven night cruise from Southampton to the Canaries. This was about four years ago
Only cost was getting to Southampton.

We will be on the Independence on 1st June 2019.
My wife fell and broke her left hip on 22nd March 2019. She has had a new hip fitted and is making a good recovery.
Sent a letter to our insurance company giving all the details. Had a phone call to say no extra premium as we had booked the cruise before the accident.
It is an annual world wide policy.
