  1. I haven't cruised in 3 years.  Before COVID, I had most of these rules memorized but not sure if things have changed. I'm thinking of B2B next July.  The only thing I can get to come up on the website states I won't be able to get my deposit back if I cancel.  I know it used to be that with some deep discounts, this was the rule.  But there was a way to take another offer - overall cruise a bit more - but you were able to get your money back (within certain time frames).  Is it still that way or have they gone to complete no deposit refunds?

    Thanks!!

  2. I am looking to go to the same beach I went to in 2017.  It probably couldn't even qualify as a 'beach'.  It was a sandy strip behind a restaurant.  The last time we were there, part of my family went to the perfume factory and my daughter and I walked down to a beach on the advice of the people at the perfume shop.  We were told to walk down to where the big grills are and just past that to the right is a public access to a beach.  Since we were there prior to the hurricane, I'm wondering if these directions are still good - are the grills still there as a landmark?  Is the public access area still there, etc?  What can I tell my taxi driver since there really isn't a name for that beach?  I know this question might have to go to a local so I'm hoping someone out there knows.  It was just a tiny little shallow, gentle patch of water that my young daughter could snorkel for shells.

    Thank you so much!!!

I'm using my phone but if you're in your cruise planner, there should be a link to add a cruise reservation or link a missing cruise. I also have two reservations for 2 staterooms. I think it did take about 15 minutes for the second one to show up when I added the reservation number.

    Thank you!

  4. Not sure if anyone can answer this.  For my cruise, we have two reservations.  One is DH, me and two daughters and the other is our 3rd daughter (they can only put 4 on a reservation).  When I go to the website and log into my 'lets plan and reserve and .....' portion, I can only see the reservation for the 4.  Does anyone know where I go to link up our other daughter's reservation to ours so that when I log onto My Cruises, I can see both?

    Thanks!!!!!

  5. It's like you say Buckeyes and all the Ohio members find your post.

My extended in-laws are looking to plan a big family reunion cruise in Summer 2020 and of course itineraries only go out to April right now. They are planning on sailing out of Galveston so I'm interested to know if Liberty will still be there. I was mostly worried about the Royal Amplified renovations and the possibility that it might affect the Ben n Jerry's sweet, but Liberty won't go under the knife until 2021.

    LOL

I'm not a native Ohioan so my Buckeye affiliation is from writing tuition checks with lots of zeros. :D I'm a Hoosier at heart.

  6. That might be even more unpredictable now. I think , from memory, for several years now Adventure was in SJ year around and Jewel was there something like October to April. Now both of those ships are gone (or about to be, I'm on Jewel's upcoming last San Juan sailing) Freedom is now taking over for Adventure year around, but Royal could change their minds on that if it doesn't sell well. Though, I suspect it will sell well. I'm not thinking about 2020 now, but I would do Freedom out of there!

We want a nice vacation in 2020. My oldest is graduating college in 2020 (Go Buckeyes!) and my middle one is graduating HS. My youngest would just be along for the ride LOL.

The route that looks good to me is on Vision. We were on Vision out of LA a few years back. The Vision is not my favorite ship but you can't beat SoCarib itineraries and they are usually packed with ports so not much time on the ship.

  8. I realize none of us can do that but for those of you who have been around and watched how things normally work, I have a question for you.

Yeah, I've been on these boards forever but I've never taken notice to if 'spring' cruises are usually the same itinerary as 'summer' cruises.

I'm interested in doing a B2B and the itineraries I like (So Carib out of SJ) are on the website up until April 2020. I would be cruising in June/July of 2020 and just wondered if they usually change routes for that area between spring and summer.

Any insight - no matter how speculative it may be - is appreciated!

    :D

Oh and P.S. Any idea when they will post summer 2020 itineraries?

  9. Hi,

This is our first cruise to Alaska (Canada) and I was very surprised when I read about the chance of being denied boarding at Seattle because of a record.

DH has a misdemeanor trespassing conviction from 17 years ago. I have no idea about how to start figuring out if we will be denied boarding. On one hand, I have to believe that some of the thousands of people who cruise to AK/Canada have convictions and it is never a problem. I've been cruising and on these boards for over 10yrs. I've never heard about it until I read it here last night. DH wants to just go and 'chance it' because he feels the probability is very low. If it were just him and I- no problem. If we got turned away we would just stay in Seattle and vacation there. But we will be having our young-ish children with us and I don't think I'm willing to pull the rug out from underneath them at the RCCL check in counter.

Any advice? I'm honestly very confused even after reading the webpages about the temporary residency. Is there a list of 'not allowed in Canada' floating around that I can call some Canadian official and see if DH is on it?

We cruise in July. If it provides any more information, we did go to Nigara Falls (via car) about 3 yrs ago and had no problem.

    Thanks for any advice.

  10. Can't hurt to call.;)

Did you check other cruise lines? There might be other options.

Yes. We spent about a week comparing. This had the best fit for us. Plus, DH is a RCCL fan. As long as i'm on a ship I don't much care. But if all things equal, he will always choose RCCL. It doesn't help that we had the cruise of a lifetime (B2B SoCarib) this past July on RCCL.
