Is this 10 drinks saving card offered on every cruise?  I’m sailing on Symphony of the Seas in May but this is my first Royal Caribbean cruise so I’m learning as Igo !

  2. Has anyone out there done the Chukka Beach Break off of the MSC Divina.

We are going to be in Ocho Rios only 6.5 hrs and I looked at the day pass for two at the Jewel Dunn's River and it was $90.00pp and we would only get maybe three hrs there after pickup and traveling. Too much money for such a short time there. MSC offers the Chukka beach break and all my wife and I want to do is enjoy on a nice beach and not be bothered.

I know this is an old thread but I was wondering if you did this excrusion and how it was. I am going on MSC Divina May 20 and was looking into this excursion.

    Thanks in advance

  3. Hi,

Yes, the E ticket is where it is on page 4 at the bottom under Your cruise- what is included. See my original post and it will tell you what you can get.. basically anything except premium drinks.

    We leave tomorrow!!!!!!

Thanks Punky! I should have read your first post better ;p. I can't get my E ticket yet but as soon as I can I'm going to check it out. I'm very excited about this! If you get a chance when you get back let us know how it went. Have a great cruise!

    Thanks again

  4. I was just looking at our paperwork for the Divina on April 29, 2017. Down near the bottom it says " what is included". Under dining and drinks the last on the list says "Fantastica Drink Package" with 3 stars besides it. Then I looked down at the bottom and it shows 3 stars and says The drink package consists of 12 beverage vouchers in bars, restaurant and buffet and includes wine by the glass, beers, non-premium spirits and cocktails, mineral water and hot drinks.

We can hardly believe that this is free!!

    is this correct??

    Thanks so much.

This may be a silly question but is the "paperwork" you are referring to the E ticket? Because I wanted to check mine for my May 20th cruise to see if I got free drink tickets but I am not seeing anything in the section under my booking. I cannot access my E ticket yet so I was wondering if that is where it is.

Also, what kind of drinks are these vouchers for?

    Thanks,

  5. We just got back from the Divina and booked all of our tours through MSC. Our dd just turned six and there were the two of us.

In Jamaica we did the beach break and it was very nice and relaxing. It was a private beach with no one constantly asking you if you want to buy drinks or jewelry or braid your hair. There was a stand for lunch and drinks if you wanted to buy them. We pulled our chairs under some trees and had a nice shady spot to relax. The water was calm and the sand was beautiful.

In Cozumel and Cayman we went snorkeling, which may not be what you want to do with an elderly couple. Getting off and on the boats take a little doing, so you'd have to see how nimble they are.

In Nassau we did the Balmore Island beach break and that was very nice. You take a ferry back and forth but they are easy to get off and on. It's Sandals private island and it's beautiful. The food and drinks are expensive so bring $$$ if you want to do that, but it was a long, relaxing tour. One caveat...on the way back they dropped us off at a different dock from where we were picked up and it was a bit of a hike back to the ship.

The hardest of most of the tours was the long walk of the piers and getting to the excursions. In some spots they had pedicabs or carts you can take and you may want to consider that if walking is an issue.

Travelhound can you tell me how long it took to get to the beach on the beach break excursion in Jamaica, and how long were you actually at the beach.

    thanks,

  6. Pete, could you please give me info on Divina room 12244. I have never sailed with MSC do I am really lacking in knowledge about the rooms and locations.

Thank you very much for your help!

  7. SAS is a great service we have used to get from FLL airport to Miami hotel. The fee was $13 to $15 a person. We have also used an Uber which was around $35 to $40 I believe, just have to make sure you get one that can fit all your luggage ;p

How did room 15844 turn out? We are in that room the week of July 9th.

    Thanks

    Jen

    Jen,

The room turned out to be really great. We were in a great location as you just walked up one flight of stairs and the Garden Café was right there. Then just up another flight and there was spice H20 and you could go to the pool decks. I never heard any noise from the Garden Café except maybe some chairs moving when I was on the balcony, but no big deal.

We would take the elevators down to deck 6 or 7 and walk across to get to the front, it never seemed that bad at all.

The bed is next to the closet, which is not the greatest as it is tight getting into the closet but it works.

    Hope that helps!

  9. I was on the Escape May 21 to May 28th with my 2 daughters. They made each of us put 300 on our cards. We used 2 credit cards and one debit card. The only charges we had were the service charges, $96 for the total trip. The "hold" was released by my credit card by Sunday May 30th, and the hold on my debit card was released and the service charges charged by May 31st.

Also, I have used my debit card a lot and it has been hacked, but I was alerted by Bank of America and the transaction did not go through. My daughter's debit card was hacked and they did charge money on it by it was refunded back to her very quickly.

Not sure why we had to each have a $300 hold, but it all worked out well.

  10. Which cabin are you considering?

In most rooms, you can have twin beds. However, in some of the suites, there is no option for twins.

I have a balcony room on Deck 15 on the Escape. On Carnival you request the bed configuration when you check in on line, so it is done when you get on board. I am going with my two daughters so we would like to have our own beds if possible.

  11. I don't mind the shade, but I want to be able to see the sky. :) We stayed on deck 14, and it was still a bit in the way, so we've moved down to deck 13 for our next cruise. All still get shade from the balconies above, but at least you can see the sky. I don't know why that's important to me, but it is.

Are you saying I will not be able to see the sky??? I don't think it is that covered...

  12. We were on 15 on Escape, but we were Aft and directly underneath the Garden Cafe. I thought we would hear all sorts of chairs being scraped and moved around, but never heard anything. Of course, there is carpet there, which is a big difference from chairs on the pool deck.

I actually liked the overhang from the balcony, but we are not big "sit in the sun" people.

    Blackwing,

I am happy to hear this I just got assigned room 15844 for my May 21st cruise and I was worried being under the Garden Café. I don't mind the shade on the balcony either!

  13. Like I said earlier I booked my 05/21/16 Escape cruise Saturday 04/09/16 and it was a balcony BE, but it said it would be assigned. I looked at my e docs this morning and it had my room number. I got 15844, which is higher than what I booked because BE was on deck 12 or 13. I am not sure if that is a good location or not, as I do not know anything about this ship, but I am happy to have a room!!:)

  14. I was having the same problem last night with not being able to book a room for 3 people, and I even called the agents and she said she could not book anything for 3 people for the May 21, 2016 sailing on the Escape and then she checked the Getaway for the same time and said that was full too. She proceeded to offer to book me two rooms, I said no thanks.

I got up this morning and tried the booking again and guess what, I was able to get my balcony room for three people. I did get to choose to the UBP and the internet minutes, and received $100 on board credit. They showed the four categories in balcony rooms, and you choose a category but still says guaranteed room when you check out. Not sure why but I was just glad I was able to book this cruise. :)

  15. This is really good to hear. We (12 of us) are flying in at noon on Good Friday and staying at the Hampton. What do you suggest we do around there for the day? Six adults and Six 17 year old girls. Don't want to spend a lot on a great dinner since we will be eating well all week, but don't want to eat at McDonald's either.

We stay at the Hampton Brickell all the time. We love it there. There is a nice pub/resturant right next to the hotel and a sub shop that's good. But just a short walk from the hotel is a little mall area with some restaurants too. I don't know about the cost because most places in Miami are a little on the high end.

Also there is Bayside mall not too far from the hotel and you can use the free "metro rail" I believe it's called. There is a station right by the hotel.

I think you will really like the Hampton it's a great hotel. Hope this helps!
