Just found this and will be checking in weekly. Want to lose 15 pounds before our November cruise. I'm up one week, down the next.

Thanks everyone, I'm sure there will be more. Not looking forward to the pink interior as I despise the color pink! But if that all I have to complain about, that's okay by me!!

My friends and I are cruising on the Splendor in November, my third cruise their first. For those that have sailed on the Splendor, what are your likes and dislikes with this ship? Not to wish my life away, but November can't get here soon enough!!

The Dream is a great ship. You will enjoy it.

While I can see your point, I would respectively disagree. We have sailed in almost every cabin other than inside that Carnival has including Ocean Suites, Spa Suites, Junior Suites, Grand Suites, Captains Suites and Owners Suites. That being said, I strongly feel that Carnival has it right and Royal (not picking on them) has it wrong. It should be a better room, not a cast system. By the way, having sailed on Oasis and seeing grand suites and owners suites on that ship, I think the room amenities on Carnival are much better as well.
Op, to your question, it's about the fun factor that sets Carnival apart from other cruiselines. It's what keeps us coming back.

My husband and I can afford a suite but choose to stay interior as we aren't in our rooms much. And if I did stay in a suite, I wouldn't expect preferential treatment cause I have a fat wallet.
OP - we like Carnival because it is laid back, staff is friendly and there is always something to do. If you are bored on a cruise, then you're doing it wrong!!

I read his post and he did mention cover bands and Caribbean music. Steel drums would be okay, in small doses. Very small doses.

Breeze or Dream would be my suggestions

My cruising pet peeves pretty much revolve around inconsiderate people, oblivious people, and self-centered people.
The one I will never forget:
My wife and I were in the windjammer for lunch on the Allure appx. 2 years ago. Moderately busy. We were one row away from the windows, and about 1/2 way through our meal. There were plenty of empty tables, and one just opened up next to the window as a couple (60ish) was walking by. They both looked like PITA's.
They decided to grab this table, I suppose for the view. It had not been cleaned yet, as the other people just left. I see them stack up all of the dirty dishes, utensils, napkins....and then bring them to the table where my wife and I are eating! They placed the dirty dishes on our table and said, "You don't mind, do you?". I was speechless and just looked at them (probably with my mouth open).
So now the wife and I are just shocked, and trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. They were at a 4-person table, and so were we. We figured they had two more people coming (still not appropriate), but nobody else showed up! Steam was probably coming out of my ears at this point.
When we left, I took every single dirty thing off of our table and brought it to theirs (while they were about 1/2 way through their meal). It took me two trips. I said, "You don't mind, do you?", and left. I still can't believe this happened.
I literally laughed out loud!! I would have probably done the same thing.

We were on the Breeze in December and loved it. Red Frog Pub had trivia night with Kenneth and he was hilarious. There always seemed to be seats available on the Lido around the pull. We prefer seating on the aft, less crowded. Just overall had a great cruise.

Cruised on the Breeze in December and it is a wonderful ship. Great crew and loved. Guy's Burgers and the Blue Iguana Burrito Bar. I having nothing bad to say about that ship. Never been to those particular ports so I have no opinion about that.

Pictures during dining time in MDR. I'm trying to eat, people.

Good morning,
My daughter and I are going on a cruise togehter. Just the two of us this time.
Regarding the beds, should we leave them as twins or is it better to move them together?
All other times when the family went they were moved together for husband and I and the kids had the pull down bunks.
What would work best in regards to the room configuraiton and comfort for the two of us this time?
Thanks,
If it's an interior room, I'd probably leave them apart. But waiting until you get there to check it out seems logical.

On our last cruise, Breeze in December, some old man chewed out one of the staff because they made him come in off the Lido deck for muster drill. Didn't phase the staff member as he then told the "gentleman" to put on his shirt as he was in the dining room. I guess the rules didn't apply to him.;)

I'll be reading an old fashioned book. Probably a biography or true crime. I usually take two or three books with me. I also have an iPad with the Kindle app but I prefer a book.

What others have said. There is one in the drawer. If your wife has long, thick hair, she may want to pack her own. For short hair like mine, it worked just fine.

About two months ago they changed it by doubling the cost and limiting the type of drinks you could order.
Love the idea of the 50/50 raffle.

Our group on Breeze in December went the informal M&G route. We met in the Red Frog Pub, wore leis so we knew who was with the group. One of the gals in the group contacted John Heald and he supplied a number of the following: champaign, chocolate covered strawberries, ship on a stick, and some Red Frog Pub t-shirts. We gave them out as prizes-who traveled the farthest, who was celebrating a b-day, anniversary, etc. a lot less stressful than going through Carnival. People also brought little items to give away. I brought little lapel pins of cruise ships that light up. Another girl brought little cards that you could use for your lights when entering your cabin. We had a great time.

I liked the coffee in the MDR and on the buffet. I've had better and much worse. So it was fine with me.
