Thanks for the review, always interesting to see what others did on the same trip. I also remember Glenna and her glow hands from glow night and her prom queen appearance!

classy_cruiser: So glad people got to see our friend Glenna in action. She has a wide circle of friends. I’d like to claim her as my bff but so would 30 other people. Ha ha.
She went from NYC to Sedona to be with friends and family.

Did I say that she is single? Wonderful person.❤️

  2. warb: Thank you. Yes we did do a lot! Loved this cruise! Loved the Breakaway! Thanks for following! Happy Sailing everyone!

We are getting on the Bliss out of L.A. (San Pedro) for a Thanksgiving cruise to Mexican Riviera with daughter and son in law and 2 grandkids. First time cruising with kids in tow. So excited! I’ll probably do another review because I’m compelled to do it in some weird way.

  3. Mike wanted me to add a negative point.

He was upset that there were no premium drinks to be had in the casino bar, except good vodkas. And he had a premium drink card while playing in the casino.

He really like this premium Rum from Guatemala called Zacapa 23. He is known on the Bliss casino as “Mr. Zacapa”.
Not even Woodford or Crown Royal although they have that in the other bars for an up charge. He settled into drinking Jameson.

    Rant over.

  4. We sailed into New York, it was dark. I had the curtains open and saw bridges and lights but I was just too tired to get out of bed to take pics. We met for a final breakfast. Glenna’s flight went out of Newark and ours went out of La guardia. So we said goodbye.
We picked up our big luggage in the terminal and walked out. Got through passport area quickly.
Then walked with the big herd of people to the bus lines.
Waiting for the transfer bus was again our longest line and about an hour in line.

We finally made to the airport. Had lunch, wished I had waited for the shake shack that we went by later. We passed the time catching up on internet.

The flight to Houston wasn’t too bad. Watched a movie, then the Friends reunion. Literally lol.
The flight to California had miserable tiny seats, no leg room and no entertainment TV.

I think we will book our own flights using miles or points next time.

  5. We only had one day at sea on this trip. I like to leave sea days unplanned, no shows, no dinner reservations.

We slept in. I actually watched TV for the first time in a week, read my book, had breakfast, went to the spa, drank screwdrivers on the balcony, then Chardonnay.  We packed up as much as we could. The day seems kinda like a blur. We tried to straighten out our internet minutes which were kind of a joke.
We got our comps from Casino etc. Looked at final bill.

We all went to Shanghai noodle place for dinner. Yum! Huge portions.
It was time for ‘Prom night’ at Syd Norman’s pour house. We again waited in line taking turns holding place in line and ordering great drinks at Maltings Bar. Try the Matador if you get a chance.

Some random pics, more of Glenna’s glow night. Ha ha

  6. Time for lunch…We saw this place with this sign “Lobster and Beer…Enough Said”  Shaw’s Restaurant, driving up to Peggy’s cove and we weren’t sure about the place. But we asked someone who was just finished dining there and they said it was excellent. So I saw a special for 2 piece fish and chips plus beer for $8. Mike ordered lobster and beer. Glenna ordered shrimp and beer.
It was a lovely setting and good weather.

Then the food came out. Everything was huge! Mike had to deal with a WHOLE lobster 🦞. It was delicious. His was messy but good. I couldn’t finish mine.

  7. Oops ignore top one.

We reserved a car from National Rental car. We already had an upgrade to a bigger car, then they gave us another upgrade to a small suv. Much better.
I had planned to drive to Lunenberg, Mahone Bay AND Peggy’s Cove.
I just decided to do Peggy’s cove first. The rental car drop off was 5:00pm and our sailaway was at 8:00 so it cut down on our time.
We stopped at a drugstore for stuff  (Advil) and snacks.

It was a pretty drive to Peggy’s cove with lots of historic houses, trees, lakes etc.

  8. We dropped off car. Walked back to ship. Tonight’s dinner was at Le Bistro for Mike and me. We could only reserve a table for two when we booked so Glenna was on her own.

We had wine, escargo and we both had cog au vin. Chicken and vegetables in a burgundy wine sauce. I loved mine. Mike said his chicken was a little dry. No pics.

Time for burn the flood show. I thought it was excellent. Mike fell asleep during part of it. Excellent ballroom dancing with a modern twist.

It was glow party night and we were prepared. Glenna had her glow outfit and we bought her some light up gloves. She had a great time being the hit of the dance floor.
Be prepared for this video: Glenna the ham
