  1. parking at Jacksonville port is very easy.  They usually don’t let people into the lot before 10:30 so they can get the previous cruisers out.  Nice paved fenced in lot.  When we sailed from there the porters came and found us very quickly, sometimes at our car and took our checked luggage.  Walked right into the terminal and it was so easy...

unless they changed it, it’s not a pretty area and the terminal looks like a warehouse but it serves the purpose.  We always felt safe leaving our car there...
    Thank you!

  2. The port currently charges $68 for a 4 day cruise / $85 for a five day cruise.

Wallypark offers a $65.00 flat rate for a four or five day cruise.  However, they have specific pickup / dropoff times.  To the port:  11 am / 12:00 noon / 1:00 pm / 2:00 pm.

Book2Park dot com looks like it is $48 for a four day / $55 for a 5 day cruise.  Shuttle is advertised as on demand.

Onairparking dot com looks like it is about $5 cheaper than Book2park.  However, this one also appears to offer set shuttle times.

I haven't used any of these off site places at Jacksonville before, so I don't know if the savings is worth the hassle.

Based on the situation you described, I would ask the hotel that I was planning to stay at if I could leave my car parked while on the cruise, and if allowed, take an uber or lyft to/from the port, as this would be cheaper than any of the options above.

If you google "Jacksonville Port Parking", you might be able to find other options.

Thank you, i didn't even consider asking the hotel and ubering

There are two ports I would always just park at the port.....Miami and Jacksonville.
Is it easy to park there or do i have to have advanced reservation? How is getting out of the port with everyone else leaving?

Thank you everyone btw.. I feel completely out of my element going with Jacksonville but its the only option with being able to make it work with scheduling. [emoji21]

  3. Look at the hotels by the airport.

All of the following hotels offer a shuttle:

    Crowne Plaza - Jacksonville Airport
Home2 Suites by Hilton - Jacksonville Airport
Days Inn by Wyndham - Jacksonville Airport
    Residence Inn - Jacksonville Airport
Fairfield Inn and Suites - Jacksonville Airport
    Quality Inn Airport - Jacksonville
    Econo Lodge - Jacksonville Airport

Thank you for the suggestion. We already have the hotel picked out but they do not offer parking and shuttle for cruises. I am trying to avoid switching hotels since as a hotel employee i get amazing travel discounts.

Do you know any place without having to book a room?

I am trying to find someplace similar to the park and cruise in port Canaveral.

  4. Sorry if this is on wrong board.. I can't post to florida for some reason?? Using app if that explains.

Anyways had to switch cruise from port Canaveral to Jacksonville...

Never cruised out of jacksonville and google is not helping. I am trying to find a park and cruise in Jacksonville with shuttle that is safe and preferably let's me keep my keys.

    Any suggestions???

  5. We are confirmed for YTD and ours shows up as confirmed with other options available. It's a quirk of the website. I'm guessing you have your preference.
Same for me it just shows confirmed and other options when i called carnival the rep said we were confirmed for the time we selected.

They couldn't explain why it wasnt showing what is confirmed either.

I love the idea of drying towels and swimsuits. Trying to do so in the bathroom they never get dry lol.

Not really a tips persay.. But somethings we enjoyed. :

Get icecream and sit on the balcony and just enjoy life

Perfect lighting for pictures/selfies with a beautiful background-teen approved

Sit outside at night and star gaze or just listen to the waves which helped us wind down after a busy day.

We used it last time to see when the tender seemed to be less busy.

For me it helped with panic attacks. Just being able to not feel crowded in the cabin or near too many people. So tip for those with panic/anxiety i guess lol.

Leaving the curtains open during the night was nice to look at stars from the bed and then wake up naturally to the sun. Was able to wake up a bit before the alarm.

Plus the room being bright in the morning helped our teen wake up without having to argue more then normal [emoji23]

In their state, do they get to keep the current ID card and the piece of paper is technically an extension of that ID?

They don't keep it. It's a temp id paper that has all the info of an id and their picture and that it was issued by a government agency and legal.

  8. Hello,

Boarding liberty in less than a month and just found out that my parents need to renew their ID yes we should have got passports but we didn't.

Anyways the I D they don't get right away, like before, instead of goes to the state office and then something happens and then they get it like 2 weeks 3 weeks later. so instead they get a piece of paper with their picture and their identification information. it's literally like a piece of paper. has anybody had this happen before and we're there any issues???

it does apparently say on it that this was issued from a government agency and this is a version of their ID.

I am just a little worried and I could just be overreacting because it's so close and there's been so many issues that my family has ran into that I'm just hyperactive or preventive whatever lol, so any insight would be helpful

  9. Hello, it's been almost two years since we have been to freeport. Normally we take the jitney to our luycaya and either go to the free beach down the alleyway or go to grand luycan for day passes.

Welp reading here found out the later is not an option but i was wonfering if the free beach/public access beach by the police station is still open.

We don't really want to go further then that main area and are looking for a beach. Any other suggestions?

Or is there a beach maybe not that much further away?

  10. She has expressed interest in being around kids her age so me and her dad have been trying to get enough knowledge about 02.

Thank you all for the feedback it does help with the nervous feeling lol. I wish they had a bit smaller gap 15 compared to those about to be 18.

  11. Hello all. Our cruise is coming up seeeemiii shortly least for me in December. We will have my bfs daughter who is 15. My question is for those with teens around this age did you let them go to club 02.. Why or why not. Those that had teens that went what was the opinions from your teens of 02?

My concern is the youtube vidoes semi recently of more adult like behavior going on in club 02. I know this varies cruise to cruise but i am just a bit worried it maybe more older kids closer to 18 then i am comfortable with. (Overconcerned maybe to be step parent thats me lol).

  12. One of the cruised we took one year the waves were rough.

Those of us predispositioned to motion sickness took medication 24 hrs ahead of time then again when on the ship.

We also took ginger ale, crystallized ginger and soda crackers.

That evening everyone took an hour nap and we all felt so much better. Taking a nap typically is what works the best for everyone i know and then ginger or soda crackers when awake to help with the nausea feeling.

    Goof luck!

  13. Lol my sister, mom and gma had offers too for same cruise. Theirs was interior to balcony for 180 and the other two rooms oceanview to balcony for 180 and 280. Only my sister took the upgrade. My parents laughed at it since it wouldn't save them anything

I wouldn't take it just due to what is above.

  14. My mom recieved one , my sister and my grandmother all for the dame cruise Carnival liberty 12.9.18. My parents are two to a room so theirs was from an ocean view to balcony for $280. My sister and gma both are single rm holders and offered on both emails upgrade for $180 my sister for oceanview to balcony which she took..only saved her $70 from reg price and my gma inside cabin to balcony which she didn't take.

Kinda crappy offers it seems anymore.

  15. Looks like we may be running into each other because we also have a cabin on the lido deck and I’m very excited about that. From all I’ve read and heard, most people love those cabins. As far as the SS cards in the mailboxes...I believe that to be true

Thank you! I heard lido is a good floor too from people i know but they have been on other ships. Hopefully its the same regardless. Either way it beats being at work for 4 days haha.

Not sure how i feel about the mailbox keys.

  17. We are thinking of doing the stingray excursion, it seems fun and also educational which we are trying to make this experience like for a 15yro. Has anyone done this excursion and could tell me about their experience. Was it worth it? How long was it ? How far away from the actual tender area and accessible?

    Thank you!

    next cruise 12/9/18 Liberty 😁
