  1. We're booked on July Fjords cruise and prepared for it to be cancelled, or through us following UK 70+ advice (whatever that may be). We're quite happy for our booking to be transferred to the same cruise in 2021, but only if we get the very generous onboard credit ($1000+) we were offered when we originally booked the cruise. What chances of that happening? Wouldn't Cunard want bookings whatever?

  2. We are about to call at Harvest Caye on Oceania. What is there to do? Is there a beach we can make our way to ourselves, or do we have to have something organised? We don't need the ship's cabana or beach villa options.

If you currently have a Cunard voyage booked, then try looking in voyage personaliser under "Preparing to Go", "Cunard World Club".

Otherwise, if you have any of the old booking confirmation documents or e-tickets from your previous cruises, your Cunard World Club numbers should be listed on those.

Or if you receive promotional emails from Cunard, your Cunard World Club number may be listed in one of those emails.

Failing those suggestions, I would recommend phoning Cunard and talking with them directly. I think you may need to do that to get the numbers added to your online profiles anyway. But I should say I'm from the US where we don't have online "My Account" profiles yet, so I can't be certain about that last part.

Thanks for your helpful reply. We'll give it a go!

  4. This is our first Azamara cruise. Other than the itinerary, one of the main attractions was the "resort casual" dress code in the dining room. However on the website there is a note that "In Prime C, Aqualina and Discoveries Restaurant, many guests enjoy dressing up...We recommend that men bring a sport coat or suit; this attire comes in handy for evenings onshore as well."

Now I don't particularly relish the idea of carting a "sport coat or suit" half way across the world to wear on just a few nights. How often is this separate dress code followed?

  5. I downloaded the rather good Azamara app for our first cruise with them next month. There is a piece amongst all the good information which says: "Your luggage arrives at your stateroom one hour after we sail. Pack a small carry-on bag with travel documents, a change of clothes, bathing suit, workout clothes, and medications"

Is this correct? Other cruise lines we have sailed with, from big to small, deliver luggage well in advance of this. Or is this just the very latest it can arrive?

I have heard it usually takes one to one and a  half  hours each way. There can be very heavy traffic going to the port at Santos from Sao Paulo.

If you decide to stay in Santos which is a fair size city, there are various options.

We took the funicular up Monte Serrat for a good view of Santos and then took a regular bus around town down to the beach where there is a very wide promenade with a bike lane you can walk along for miles. We found the locals very friendly and helpful although none spoke English or Spanish.

We saw several trolley stops but no trolleys and the police we talked to said they were not running, not sure why.

Watch the cab drivers at the port - try to get a metered cab or prepare to be grossly overcharged. There are supposed to be vans that go to local shopping malls but we did not see any the day we were there.

Thanks - looks like we'll do the ship's tour to SP!

  7. Hello fellow cruisers,

My husband & I are considering the "new" Azamara Pursuit for a 7-day Mediterranean next summer. We've never sailed the line before but have sailed on Princess & Crystal. Our TA quoted us prices for the Club Veranda & Club Continent Suite. I'm asking for feedback on those types of accommodations as well as on the line in general. The veranda stateroom is 175 sq. ft. which seems pretty tight. Our Princess balcony staterooms were in the 220 sq. ft. range. Any thoughts? The suite is significantly higher priced but comes in at 266 sq. ft.

We like the idea of a smaller ship having enjoyed the Crystal Serenity California Coastal cruise. Our on board pursuits include reading, relaxing & eating! :-) I'd appreciate any feedback you can provide & many thanks!

We too are considering our first Azamara cruise next year. The itinerary looks good which ticks a big box, but we are getting concerned about the cabin size, in particular the bathroom and specifically the shower. We're waiting for the first Pursuit reviews so any advice on this topic would be most welcome.

  8. Just to say that I am in the UK, using an Apple Mac and have failed with both Safari and Firefox. I also hung on the phone for over 15 minutes listening to sales messages before I had to give up to catch a train. Our cruise is next week and I can't believe what I have read in these threads.

White Star cruise line? Lowest grade website.

Hope someone from Cunard reads this thread.

  9. Or is it just me? I've been trying to enter my details on Cunard's website for some days now, but all I get is a message that an "Unexpected error has occurred..." and inviting me to try again. Well itv sn't unexpected by me because I get it all the time. A supposedly world-class cruise line needs a world-class website and for me at least, Cunard doesn't have one. To add insult to injury, there's no contact email address on their website and calls in the UK cost a lot of money. I understand I need an e-ticket to board but at this rate I won't have one.

Anyone else with the same problem?

  10. On all of our Seabourn cruises, we always choose the unbranded "gritty" soap (you know the one) when offered by our cabin stewardess. I've always forgotten to ask who makes it as I'd like to buy one here on dry land. Anyone know what it is and where I might buy it here in the UK?
