  1. I should warn you. I purposely paid the balance of my fly cruise one month early so I can book seats on the flight. RC told me flights would be paid immediately. Four days later my flight provider tells me they have still not been paid. I telephone RC to ask what's going on. They say flight is paid 5 days after they are paid (not what I was told when making my payment) and I can book my seats on Friday of next week. This is 10 days after I have paid in full which means had I not phoned and chased about payment today how long would they have held back from paying my flights? I normally book my RC cruises through my travel agent but did it direct this time but never again. As much as I cannot fault anything once we are on board (we have cruised RC many times) I find the pre cruise service sadly lacking!

  2. We have booked our ship's excursion to Pattaya Elephant village. I am now a bit worried whether it is cruel or not as I have recently read that places that offer elephant rides treat the elephants badly. It is advertised as a 'sanctuary' but I wonder if anyone has experience of this place and how the animals are treated. Thanks.

  3. Hi, Heathrow to Southampton is at least a couple of hours' drive by car. (Not sure how you are planning to get there). Southampton cruise terminal is easily accessible from the main part of town and there is in fact a free bus from the main shopping centre to the port. A hotel in Southampton might be your best bet. There is really nowhere around Heathrow you would want to stay.

  4. We are stopping at Phu My on our cruise in June on Voyager. The ship has 2 excursions one called Panoramic of Ho Chi Minh City at £31.98 which appears to be a part tour, part on your own. There is then another called Saigon on your own which is exactly what it says, drop off then on your own for the day then pick up. Cost £37.52. Does anyone know what these excursions entail as the cost and content of the excursions make no sense to me!

    Thanks in advance

  5. We are sailing Singapore to Hong Kong stopping at Bangkok on Voyager of the Seas in June. We feel the ship tours are very expensive and wonder if anyone can recommend a reasonably priced tour company who could pick us up at the port and give us a tour of Bangkok?

    Thanks

  6. We have just returned from Allure a few days ago and while we had an absolutely fantastic time and it is an amazing ship we preferred Independence. Just a personal thing but you can walk right round the top decks on Independence but not possible on Allure. Couldn't fault the service on either ship....RCC should be very proud of their crews.
