  1. I was on the Seaside 4/14, just my opinion, I thought there was a good selection of dancing. We had different social dance lessons-waltz, chacha, bachata. They had different types of music in the different lounges. My favorite was the area next to Venchi chocolates, the seats are always full, lots of people on the dance floor for social dances. Plus, at 10:30 every night there were different themes dance parties. Because it was raining in the evening I went, they rescheduled the party from the pool deck to the atrium which I thought was a lot of fun since people were dancing on all 3 floors. So, bring your dance shoes!

  2. Day 3:

Today was the day that we ported at St. Maaten. We had booked an excursion to go o a Sea Trek. If you don't know what Sea Trek is, it is a company that lets you helmet dive and snorkel. My favorite part about the snorkeling is that we got to see many different kinds of fish and the workers kept on feeding them so that they would stay, there is also a helicopter under the water and it is so amazing to see a "shipwreck" underwater for the first time. The next thing we did we did was helmet did was helmet diving. Helmet diving was a great experience and totally recommend it.Helmet diving is where you can breath on the sea floor while the workers pump oxygen into you helmet. The best part was that you had a walkway so you wouldn't get lost underwater and it also had handrails.

After we did the Sea Trek, my family decided to look for some shops. But there is only a few shops open since there was Hurricane Erma. Maybe in a few months it will be recovered and open.

For dinner I ate with the teens club in the buffet. It was kind of fun to hang out with teens and eat with them .

  4. I so agree with the above poster. You would have to give your opinion to the OP of someone who has stayed in the YC.

    Example-

Left Royal for NCL haven. Hands down NCL. Royal has nothing like the Haven either. If I was not staying in the Haven-price would of been the deciding factor. Although the layout on NCL pool deck is not as good as Royals.

    My thoughts on teenage cruisers:

Everyone seems to say Oasis with kids.

Oasis has ice skating. Seaside does not

    Both Oasis and Seaside have:

    sports court

    water park

    zip line

    Arcade

Oasis has a flow rider- Seaside has water slides

Oasis has a rock wall- Seaside has an obstacle course

Oasis has a carousel- Seaside has bowling

    For adults

    Seaside has the YC :D

Oasis does not! Price check those high end suite on Oasis!!

Everyone-please feel free to add what I missed.

    Oasis also has water show

Seaside had better dancing and music venues, every night

Seaside has shorter, but still high quality shows every night

Seaside has YC, Oasis had the Diamond lounge and they were building new suite lounge I heard

  5. Day 3: Today we had the same food at the buffet for breakfast. I went to the teens club, they actually give you 1 free ride on the XD Cinema. If you don't know what the XD Cinema is, it is a simulator where you get to shoot things in order to get points and you get to compete with other people. I personally think that is amazing how they can have a little amusment park in a cruise ship. The next activity that we did was the Scavenger Hunt. The scavenger hunt is where we looked for people from certain places and took selfies with them. This was a very fun expirience for me and I really enjoyed it. I a dinner with my family at Ipanema and had the same meal as usual. Came to the cabin early for the next day on St. Maarten.

  6. Day 2: So today for breakfast we were in the buffet. The oatmeal and the sausages are especially good, both my family and I enjoyed those two items very well. I stayed at the teen club for practically the whole day. Some of the activities that we did in there was table tennis tournament and the buzzer trivia game. After having the whole day spent with the teens club, I decided to go with my family to go to the Jungle Pool. Advice: go to the Jungle pool at night, everyone is gone eating dinner and there is no sun.

  7. MAYBE or maybe didn’t want to pay the YC prices. Just hope they don’t oversell the passes & this so called private area is crowded.

I don’t think they ‘oversell’ the passes, they were hard to come by. It was on a day of THEIR choice, not mine. As a guest who has stayed in the the Haven (NCL)before, and OS/GS on RC, I thought this was a good way to compare. No ‘gawking’.

  8. If this is true I would be quite upset. A regular balcony as low as $739pp versus YC balcony $1969pp that I’m paying both without taxes or someone in an inside for as low as $439, no way would this be fair.

We tried the YC for a day, still, it would have been more convenient to have stayed there, far more amenities. The only reason we didn’t is they only had one room left when I booked. I peeked as they were cleaning the rooms, much nicer than our regular balcony. It’s very exclusive and I understand they want to keep it that way. The staff all knew we were on the day pass, but I felt like they welcomed us, we were respectful of others there, as we were guests. We were lucky to get a day pass, it’s based on availability, not many are given out, from what I understand. The idea is that you’ll book the YC for your next vacation.

  9. More info. on this please.

All meal, drinks, and public areas in the yacht club are included. They were very nice to us. We used the public restrooms inside the YC. I still went back to our cabin to change and rest since it was formal night. I wasn’t comfortable laying out in the lounge and it was too sunny for me on deck. I’m not sure I would book YC, we liked the NCL Haven suites better. It was a midship location. I’m a wimp, I could feel more movement at the front of the ship. Plus, there was not enough shaded areas by the pool and hot tub areas so I didn’t get to take advantage of that area as much. On NCL, they had a retractable glass roof for Haven. On Seaside, they had the Jungle pool with the retractable roof, I guess I liked the Jungle pool’s midship location better.

  10. Day 8

I hate the last day because we always have to rush to get off the ship.

Overall, I liked my first MSC cruise. It was different than Royal Caribbean. On RC, I never went to the teen club because there were too many other shows and activities to keep me busy. I actually enjoyed the teen club on MSC. I met some kids my age. The only party I went to was the white party, but not the others that started at 10:30pm. I liked all the gelato, we could use the drink coupons on the gelato. You can use the drink coupons on coffee at the Venchi bar.

  11. Day 7 Nassau, Bahamas

We tried to be first off the ship because we didn’t have a lot of time in the Bahamas and my mom got us day passes to the British Colonial Hilton. It was a short walk from the pier. It would have been closer if we could swim there.

  12. It has been exactly 2 years ever since I did my last cruise review "Cruising on the Oasis of the Seas from a 10 year old's point of view. My brother is currently doing a review on it "MSC Seaside from a Teen's Point of View."

    Day 1 :

When my family boarded the ship, my dad and I went straight to the buffet and saved seats for my mom, brother, and grandparents. There was many varieties of foods to choose from the buffet. For example they have the grill section where they serve cheesburgers and hotdogs, my favorite section is the pizza section is where they have fresh cheeses from Italy and real Italian chefs in there cooking off of a brick oven.

After having a hardy meal, we unpacked at our cabin. Afterwards, I went into the Jungle Pool, which was my favorite pool because they have a glass roof covering the sun away. Do be aware that the pools are all salt water pools, I figured that out the hard way.

Then, with every cruise, there is a safety drill. The safety drill was like any other one. As we left the port of Miami, I enjoyed the scenery of it as we were sailing away. After watching the scenery I decided to check out the teen club on the 18th deck. The teen club had a bunch of people who were from Boston, because it was a school vacation where I live in Boston. The teen club also had a ton of video game consoles and games to choose from.

After meeting every one from there I decided to join my grandparents in the Metropolitan Theater and watch "Frank Forever" Frank Forever is a show about honoring the iconic singer, Frank Sinatra. The singers were great and the dancers were fantastic. After watching the show we went to go eat dinner with our family and ate at Ipanema, the food was great there and the waiters were outstanding. That was a great way to end the night with a great dinner.

  13. How daid they obtain a day pass and what was the cost? We have a 2 week YC next June and would love to be able to check it out when we go this June (non- YC cabin this time).

Hi-this is Alex’s mom...you would need to go to the reception desk right when you go onboard. They send an email and will let you know if they have the space to let you in. I just told them when I wouldn’t be able to go since we had some excursions booked. It was $110 per person.

    Here’s some pictures:

  14. Day 6 Sea day

My parents and my brother had a day pass to the YC,I went to the teen club, I played pool and played video games. I liked having my freedom. I went back to the room for a nap with my homework books open, so my parents thought I was working-lol.

  15. Day 5 San Juan, PR continued

I felt San Juan was cleaner than Phillipsburg. I ran into my parents for lunch, my mom did most of her shopping in San Juan.

For dinner that evening, we went to the French restaurant called Le Bestrot Le Boheme which overlooked the atrium and had good music.

The waiter was excellent and gave me extra side of green beans.

    Here’s what we ate:
