Does booking air through Princess Cruises EZAir alleviate any of this concern? We have always does this, and fortunately, never had a problem. Our first cruise to Alaska our 2nd leg of our flight out of Detroit was delayed due to weather and we became concerned when we realized we would not arrive in Seattle in time for the ship's departure. We arrived an hour late and the ship was waiting for us. There were probably 100+ people on that flight boarding, so maybe that is why they waited. My only issue was the looks from the passengers on-board as we walked in. I understand their frustration as I have since been on there side of the fence.
EZ Air does alleviate concerns of missing the cruise completely. However, in some cases they may need to get you to the first port they stop at as they will not always wait.

These are two somewhat similar cruise lines. If you want to be educated about your surroundings and ports, Holland does the best job. Otherwise, look at what venues are offered on the respective lines. Do you like blues, Holland has a blues club. Etc.

I used to work in customer service for one of the "ultra lowfare" airlines. I still remember the call from a father who had missed a Disney cruise. It was a family of six. They had been saving up for years. It was really terrible! I dealt with many customers who had missed their cruise because of a flight glitch. Most of us have heard that is a good idea to fly in the day before a cruise. Yes, this is a great idea, however not always possible.
If you must fly in the day of your cruise departure, BE CAREFUL which airline you choose. Some airlines, like Frontier and Sprint are small. They may only have one flight a day to your destination, it might even be one flight a week! This becomes important when your flight is delayed or canceled.
All airlines have a "Contract of Carriage." Somewhere within this document it will state that the airline does not guarantee getting you to your destination. This seems outrageous at first, however when you realize the huge amount of things that can impact a flight, of course they cannot give that guarantee.
Delays and cancelations are divided into two types, controllable and uncontrollable. Controllable would be any mechanical or crew related delay or in other words, anything the airline has control over. Uncontrollable delays are usally weather but can also be caused by airport construction or backups caused by ATC.
For an uncontrollable delay, such as weather, all the airline will offer you is a refund, or to put you on the next flight. If you are flying a legacy line like Delta, the next flight may be in a hour, if you are flying Frontier, it may not be until tomorrow. Your refund may purchase another flight on another airline, but sometimes they are not available and if they are the last minute prices will be high.
If you ABSOLUTELY NEED TO BE SOMEWHERE AT A SPECIFIC TIME fly early the day before. If you can't fly the day before, fly a large airline with multiple flights to your destination.
May your travels go well!

You can order through Room Service whatever you want from the MDR menu during the hours that the Dining Room is open for dinner.
A few LED candles would be a nice touch for a twilight dinner on your balcony.
So, your saying I don't have to dress for dinner...at all! 😂😂😂

Does the Eurodam have the Pokerpro automated poker tables? What is the cost of the poker torneys? Do they have nightly games?

In reality cruise lines have more similarities than differeces. I have sailed RCI twice once to Alaska and once on the Allure to the Carribean. Surprisingly I did not like the bigger ship. I am 66 and I found RCI to be geared to a younger crowd. The entertainment was fantastic. I found the daily activities offered to be lacking from my other experiences,

We are on the same cruise. I have cruised several times before on NCL and Royal. This will be my second cruise to Alaska and my first ruise ever on HAL. From the reviews I have read HAL seems somewhat similar to NCL.
Alaska is the star of this cruise and this is a great itinerary. My last Alaskan cruise, on Royal, was the last week of August and the weather was fine. One of the nice features of the Eurodam is the pool with the closable roof. I think you will have a great time!

My first Alaska cruise was a year ago and it was also my first cruise on RCI. I have cruised the Carribean many times of NCL We did a Thanksgiving Caribbean trip on the Allure and now we are headed back to Alaska on Holland in a few weeks.
I agree that on an Alaskan cruise Alaska is the main attraction and you will likely be pleased with any lone you go on. Plus if you like RCI another RCI cruise will add loyalty points. Our Alaskan cruise with RCI was fine. There are other factors to consider. We chose HAL's Eurodam because it has a closeable roof over one of it's pool areas. Our cruise is the first week of September this time. HAL also has blankets available for deck sitting, RCI did not.
If you like big ships, NCL's new Bliss looks like it would be fun for families and has some features especially for Alaska.
Have fun!

My reaction is "What we're they thinking?" They certainly were NOT thinking of the passengers.

Those who do not experience racism have a hard time understanding it. Just that simple.

I had my first RC cruise this past August on the Explorer to Alaska. I had previously cruised many times on NCL On NCL you just show up when you want to any dining room, The "My Time" dining really threw me at first. We did not make reservations and just showed up for the first few times but was always told there was a 45 minute wait. I finally went to the main desk and asked what the problem was. The gentleman made some entries on his computer and told me I would not longer have a problem. He was correct, everything went well after that.
I'm heading out on the Allure in a few weeks. I have made advance reservations this time.

The cruises are as different as North and South! Funny but true. Caribbean cruises are about sun, sand, and clear seas. Alaskan cruises are about rugged beauty. Both have nature to enjoy but in much different ways. I loved it. Will likely do it again.

The auto tables are gone, poker table(s) all have live dealers.
As for the game. My buddy just got off allure a few months back and he said the tables went late and usually had two going.
Every cruise is different though.
I personally love it and hope the late games continue.
Thank you.

I have this listed for my upcoming cruise in two weeks. I would love to take this tour but why is it so high? I can do a shore excursion that includes transportation for much less. I don't understand the price.

From my one experience with "Next Cruise" on board the Explorer, I would NEVER book a cruise on board. We had to try and PRY information out of the young lady manning the "office." Asked for info on the Harmony and she couldn't tell us anything. She said they used to have books that had that info but no longer. All she could do is give us a quote on a cruise that would include a "$300 discount." The quote for the Harmony was almost $4,000. We said no thanks.
When we came home I got online and found it could book the same cruise for much less.
For us Next Cruise is a huge fail.

Will be following this closely as we will be on Allure November 26 [emoji846].
Let us know if you attend any shows and how are they ?
What islands are you doing and how they look ?
Also if you go to any bars to post the drinks menu if you can.
Following this with so much interest.
Sea ya
Thanks in advance

We will be on this cruise also and I am looking forward to your info.

I have been on both and found that the food was good on both. There will be differences from ship to ship so it I'd really hard to do a good comparison.
-
I have noticed that I can drink more on a ship than on land. I have wondered if this could be due to the fact that I am at sea level and the amount of oxygen is greater. I live in CO.

I don't usually gamble much but these sound like great deals. My question is how much. Do you have to gamble on future cruises to get put on future mailings?
Sent from my iPad using Forums
I'm not sure anyone knows how much you have to gamble to get these offers. I am not a high Roller or do I risk a large bankroll. I was quite surprised I received this offer. I do believe you need to gamble on future cruises to continue to have a chancee for offers.

I was wondering how the poker was on the Allure? Do they no longer have the automated tables? Are their cash games going? Etc...

Gee, thanks a lot! Before I knew what a beer tower was I was totally content with my upcoming cruise - now - I WANT A BEER TOWER! :')

The OP was about customer service. I have many grateful cruise choices out there. The reason I choose RC is their outstanding customer service.
I used to be a customer relations agent with an airline. I would have never refused to do something for ANY customer because they were 7 minutes over the time limit.

Sorry, I may have misunderstood what was being asked. I only played enough in the casino to recieve a certificate for $250.00 off a cruise. However, a few weeks after I got home I received an email offering me a free stateroom for two on several upcoming cruises. They were all before the end of the year. I booked on the Allure. The RC agent said I could book as any of those offered cruises as I wanted. I could have done a B2B. It only cost the taxes which came to just over $200.00.

I believe HAL does not want you to bring your own power strip. They have them available.
