  1. dawnjam1, I love your name…it's my name too!

Thanks for your review on the drink package. I've never purchased one on Carnival because the last time I was on Carnival they didn't even offer this, but I have been on another cruise line and got the drink package one year and the following year didn't. For me it wasn't worth it. For my husband it was worth it. I can't even come close to drinking more than 5 drinks a day, but I must say I loved getting the coffee's too! Is it also true on Carnival both in the cabin have to get the drink package?

  2. Yesterday I called carnival to book a cruise for next summer. I found out that the deposit went down to $400 from $800 the days before. I didn't book because I didn't know they don't except your credit from another cruise I canceled. This morning I check the website and now it's back up to $800 for a deposit. How do you know when they offer less deposit's? It's frustrating! Should have done it yesterday, but was shocked I couldn't use my credit.

  3. Our first cruise we had a balcony. It was great! Our second and third cruises we had interior rooms and did upgrade during one of those cruises to a mini-suite. The next 2 cruises we have scheduled we have booked interior rooms. Depends on if you want to pay less for the cruise and use the extra money for excursions, drinks, etc. The interior rooms are not bad. I actually sleep better in them, almost too much;)

  4. I read the cruise review and it said that on a 7 day cruise there is 1 formal night. weve been on the ruby and the Caribbean princess and they always had 2 formal nights. was this person wrong or do they only have 1 formal night on this particular ship? thank you

I wonder why it would say that. It's 2 formal nights on the Emerald for a 7 day cruise.

  5. DH teaches at a community college, so we have taken several spring break cruises. His break is generally around the third week of March. Our cruises have never coincided with Easter but have been close. The only one that we had any problems from unruly kids was a short Carnival one.

Good to know. I am a teacher and this will be the first time we are cruising during spring break, always in the summer. I expect to have kids and young families around.:D

  6. We were on this cruise as well. Great pictures. They look very familiar. :D I was not impressed with the buffet. Everywhere else the food was fine. We didn't discover the Piazza until the second day, after that I loved the ship! We had an inside cabin the first 4 days and got to finally upgrade to a suite for the last 3 nights. It was worth it! Next time, I will book through Princess themselves and not Expendia or I'm sure we would have been offered an upgrade sooner. The Ports like you mentioned, unless you have an excursion booked are all very much the same. We disliked Juneau and I told my husband we should have booked an excursion, he didn't want to and we wished we had. Skagway was our favorite port. Glad you enjoyed the cruise also!
