And ....at 4.45pm Melbourne time, she's cast off and away!!!
Happy sailing to New Zealand, folks, do come again to Melbourne, The World's Most Liveable City!!!

We watched her come up the Bay this afternoon with three Tugs and a Police Vessel escort.
She's being maneuvered into position now, to reverse alongside at Station Pier as I write.

Safely in Port and all's well!

Sounds like it was one of those all important crew members that work behind the scenes making sure everything is functioning like it should. God bless.
Every crew member is important, and the quiet, unassuming maintenance crew go quietly about their business all over the ship, checking, testing, repairing, making sure it is all in perfect working order for the guests
We haven't sailed Emerald Princess as yet, but can guess from other cruises how much this will affect all on board, particularly the Captain and Crew
We are so used to safety at sea and feeling safe at sea aboard these mighty ships that we think little of it, but this is a difficult work place to maintain and the salt corrodes by stealth beneath all that paint.
Our condolences to all affected by this tragic accident

G'day
I received an email response today from Princess Cruises:
Thank you for your email. To clarify the situation "your cabin will have an Australian power point within it".
Do have a fantastic time onboard Dawn Princess!
Kindest regards,
Princess Cruises
So I guess that sorts out that issue: No need for any transformers, but with one power point and numerous phones, cameras etc to charge, perhaps a surge safe power board!
Cheers

Now I am confused .... I thought Australian power was 240 v AC?

We are off on Dawn Princess D321 Melbourne-Hobart (Tasmania) for a week before Christmas
If there is a goat's cheese soufflé offered on the menu I shall be sure to taste it and let you know if it is amazing!

I had it a couple of times on P&O Arcadia
Well, it was a nice savoury and made a change, but I don't know that I would call it 'amazing'.
What was amazing was the overall quality of the food given that they cook up more than 10,000 meals each day, and all of them are very yummy!!
Cheers
