  1. It is a challenge to schedule due to the holidays.  I learned that same-day rapid testing is available at San Diego port, on a limited basis.  Pre-registration required.  The info is within the HAL's FAQ at this link:

    https://www.hollandamerica.com/en_US/worry-free-promise/travel-well/frequently-asked-questions/faq-for-cruises-from-usa.html

    > Scroll to section:  COVID-19 Testing Requirements

    > Scroll down to the 4th Q/A:  (Updated) Where Can I Get A Viral Covid Test ...

    > Scroll down, and you'll see a paragraph that states:

"Another testing option may be available for fully vaccinated guests who are having trouble getting a pre-cruise testing appointment on select voyages.

For voyages departing from Fort Lauderdale, FL and San Diego, CA through January 9, 2022, we will be able to provide a limited number of antigen tests for fully vaccinated guests only at a cost of $100 per person charged to guests’ shipboard stateroom account. Reservations are required and may be made up to 10 days in advance. Testing will take place on embarkation day at the cruise terminal. Test appointments are subject to capacity restrictions and reservations are required. Click here* to register."

    Good luck & happy sailing!

Hi tvlworm, I've now included my arrival times which I neglected to include during my initial go-round.  Thanks for the update on my entry if you have the chance.

Our flight is for a Hong Kong to Singapore cruise.  We received NCL's e-mail confirming our flights approx. 50 days prior to our outbound flight.

Home Departure City - San Francisco, CA

    Arrival/Destination City - Hong Kong

    Airline(s) used - United

    Number of Connections - non-stop

    Outbound Flight departure/arrival time - 10:50pm/5:55am

Return Flight departure/arrival time - 10:10am/8:45am (from Singapore to SFO)

We paid $50 for an air deviation that gets us in to Hong Kong 2 days prior to embarkation, and we return 1.5 days after disembarkation.

We are on the same cruise and we also fly from San Francisco.  It looks like they gave us the same departing flight as you to get us in two days early, and we also stay in Singapore one extra night, but we have a different return flight.  Did you also get a non-stop returning from Singapore?

Home Departure City - San Francisco, CA

Arrival/Destination City - Hong Kong, Return from Singapore

Airline(s) used - United and EVA Air

Number of Connections - departing flight non-stop, returning flight layover in Taipei

Outbound Flight departure/arrival time - United: San Francisco 10:50pm/5:55am + 2 days (non-stop) Hong Kong

Return Flight departure/arrival time - EVA AIr: Singapore 1:15pm/5:50pm Taipei, 7:50pm/2:50pm San Francisco

Overall we are very happy with our flights.  Even if we didn't get a non-stop return flight, at least we have a good departure time and short layover.  We can have time for breakfast before heading to the airport.  Not bad for $499 RT each.  The only minor problem is we had to pay $80 total for seat selections on our return flight.

Hello Lou33, Yes our return flight is non-stop from Singapore to SFO, but I  like  your more more leisurely  departure time.  Whoops!  I just noticed I did not provide complete info.  Will go back and try to fill in the blanks.

  4. THANKS to tvlworm for this helpful reference!

Tried my hand at an excel document that should be able to be sorted.  I currently have it sorted by departure city, then airline to hopefully make it easier to see most popular carriers used based on routing.    I'll keep this updated, hopefully 1x per week, depending on # of weekly responses to the thread.   🙂

Thank You!  This is/will be a handy reference.  Will add our FEB 2020 Hong Kong/Singapore flight info once we're booked.  Meanwhile, I called NCL air customer service when I noticed our NCL online account was populated with flight gateway and connection.  NCL explained that was placeholder info, subject to change, but most likely an indication of our routing.  NCL also explained that at this time air bookings are currently being confirmed 35-45 days out.

  6. As Total Rewards members we've taken advantage of several of the NCL Casinos At Sea certificates issued to Diamonds. As folks have commented, Total Rewards and Casinos At Sea are totally separate programs.

In addition to the complimentary CAS cocktails card, the CAS host will send perks to your cabin such as chocolate covered strawberries and/or bottles of wine. The CAS host will also book complimentary reservations for you to dine at any one of the special (pay) restaurants on board. At the conclusion of your cruise, the CAS points you accumulate while gambling on-board will be credited toward your ship account upon checkout.

It would be nice if the perks could more generous, considering we are a somewhat "captive audience" once on board the ship ... but the perks are adequate and the CAS hosts and hostesses are very nice and accommodating.
