  1. We are not ones to be taken advantage of easily, but today was an exception and I would hate for it to happen to anyone else - it happened to at least 5 couples that we saw on the beach……

We took a bus to the beach - not a problem less than 7 euros round trip for two people.

Got to the beach - crowded - was approached by staff deco DK Oyster Restaurant and offered lounge chairs and umbrella the catch - buy an alcoholic beverage each! (Should have asked the price).   We got two “small” beers, ordered a Greek salad, talked into calamari, and said yes to bread.    We have had meals in just about all ports and figured it would be around 60-70 euros   Well at the end of the day 271 euros!!!!!!

    40 euros per beer

    151 euros for calamari

    28 euros for Greek salad

14 euros for 4 small rolls

    adding tax!

Yes we looked at the menu, after the fact and everything is very deceiving.

lesson learned - and please learn from our lesson and stay away - go further down the beach where it’s 15 euros for two chairs and umbrella with no commitment to food or beverages

I booked a cruise for $1 last year. I have re-fared it several times and switched promos expecting to have to pay a larger deposit. It has not made me yet. It is still being held on $1.

Awesome thank you that’s good to know - especially when the trip is over 550 days out I am sure there will be some promos.

  3. We booked two cruises, Panama Canal for January 2020 and 14 day Mediterranean for September 2020.  Did it to secure our cabin, and there is no way we will cancel, we were told that if the price drops we can call and get the reduced price, but probably would have to pay whatever the deposit is at that time.... no worries to us we got what we wanted.

  4. We had no issues with Deck 8 aft cabin on the Eurodam this past week, no one was able to look down over the edge from the pool above to see us on the balcony due to the cover over the balcony. We only heard the occasional chair scraping, and no loud music or taking heard all in all a good cabin IMO.

  5. I never book on board, always book independent excursions, check out TripAdvisor for some good ideas, here are a couple of spots....

Grand Caymen tour.....AMAZING... Nativeway Tours in Grand Cayman, $40 a person and you get to snorkle the coral reef, go to Stingray Cay, AND go snorkle over the Starfish area. It was an amazing 4 hour tour. Just bring your own snacks, they provide water and punch.

Cozumel, hop into a taxi and head to The Chankanaab national park for a few hours there is so much to do there. Also walk around town, lots of neat shops.

  6. We have never sailed in an aft cabin - is it worth it? We currently have 8164 on hold, should I jump in and book it or will there be too much noise from the pool deck above?

We also have an eye on a midship balcony, where we usually end up booking but looking for a change of scenery.

  7. I would never book an inside cabin - would prefer an ocean view over that... But the Balcony IMO is a must - it is wonderful to have morning coffee on it - or a late night glass of wine while relaxing and listening to the water. We have had breakfast on our balcony many times.

But to each is own... and once you go balcony you never go back!
