We were on Mariner last October and didn't do any specialty restaurants. The food in the dining room was fine, and our waiter was one of the best we ever had. He was from Montenegro. He would give suggestions and even the history of some dishes - just an amazing guy.

It just shows how out of touch the CDC can be with real life situations. AND giving the cruiselines these "highly recommended" guidelines where some of them are really unachievable...and they know that and put it in there anyway...
You are so right, I think a lot of the US's issues are that govt. agencies are out of touch with real life. I work with several of them in my industry & the inability to grasp how things truly work is astounding.

As someone who went on mission trips to Haiti preCovid but during the initial start of the political unrest, I would never go back to Labadee if Royal even does decide to start stopping there again until there are MAJOR changes to the government. Unless you have been there, you just don't understand how desperate the peoples' situation & how inept the government is.

Do they have vitamin water, like the OP is looking for?
I hope so, Mariner had it in the Freestyle machines and it was a nice break from sodas or water

They are cruising with you, right? If you are D or D+, you can use your vouchers to buy them sodas or smoothies.
They are but we're not diamond quite yet unfortunately😕

Teach your son to save by only drinking the included drinks - there are plenty of them and it may be heathier too.
Yeah, they were just curious since they do like an occasional smoothie or vitamin water. Not big soda drinkers at all. Probably most cost effective for them to pay as they go, then they can share all they want!

Your poor college students are permitted to carry on 12 containers of any non-alcoholic beverage with them at embarkation. Each container may be no larger than 17 oz/half a liter. The passenger must carry them on, not check them with luggage.
I told them this was another option

The only package where "both must buy" is the DBP. (the alcoholic one)
One person can buy the refreshment package and the other buy the soda package.
One person can buy the refreshment package and the other buy no package.

BUT THEY CAN'T BUY ONE PACKAGE OF ANYTHING AND SHARE IT.
Thanks Merion_Mom

You'll get lots, wait for it. Officially, not allowed.
I figured, lol

I was making the point that they can't have one package when sharing a cabin. Both occupants need to buy the package.
I understand, but, they won't be sharing a cabin either 😂

Both people have to purchase the package when staying in the same room. It's possible to get one drink package and one refreshment package if one of the guests doesn't drink. Don't think he can just buy one package.
They're only 19 so can't purchase alcohol package anyway

Hi all,
My son and his girlfriend were thinking of purchasing either a soda or refreshment package and sharing the drinks like they do at home normally. The would be sharing one drink at a time, not one getting a drink then the other going a few minutes later and getting another. They mostly drink water, but if they are together eating out, they usually share a soda/milkshake/smoothie or whatever (they're always trying to save money because poor college students, lol). I told them I didnt know if that was allowed/frowned upon by RC - any opinions?

this is so helpful - thank you. I had no idea. I wish the app was a tad more intuitive. Unfortunately nothing is listed for the Theatre - but I did see many activities and I am pumped.
thanks again
Yeah, it's not easy to look at current sailings on the app, that's for sure not sure!

hmmm - I was able to open up my sailing and only see live bands and such - how do I find a current sailing?
thanks
Tap on the person icon, then on 'select a different sailng'. Scroll down to very bottom of next screen and tap 'Get more details on ships we support'. On the supported ship screen scroll down to Mariner, tap it, then select the current sailing

The rest of that article went on tosay:
Ms. Freed's comments echo what Royal Caribbean International President and CEO Michael Bayley told investors last week.
"Some of the protocols that we have in place will naturally fall away as the pandemic moves further and further in the rearview mirror."
"I think as we move into '22, hopefully what we'll see is is the protocols become easier and less cumbersome for our customers."

Thanks for posting this! We are seriously considering booking another short cruise at the end of Feb. and being able to make final payment later would help. Now to just figure out if we want to go ahead and do it

I hate you had that happen to you. We had our tests done at CVS last week with no issues. We scheduled two weeks before and two days before our scheduled test I did go on to Walgreens site to see if any appointments were available in case CVS cancelled as we had heard could happen. There were plenty available but we didn't need it as our test went as planned. We both went into the little hut at the same time, swabbed ourselves with the nurse watching and had results within 30 minutes. We're planning on go to the same location for our Dec. Oasis cruise.

Still nothing to upload vaccine card for Dec Allure in check-in. I am wondering that maybe they only have it for sailings that are going to ports that require proof of vaccine like the Bahamas or Virgin Islands . My Allure sailing is Mexico and Roatan....no Bahamas or Virgin Islands.
Ah, that may be. Our sailing is Mexico & Roatan also but Cococay as well.

Am curious now to see when it will be available for our Oasis cruise in December.
Curiosity satisfied...card upload available yesterday when checkin (re)opened for Dec. Oasis cruise. Weird how it's sooner for some ships

That would make more sense. I completed our Allure check-in last week and nowhere was there anything about uploading your vaccine card.
Yeah, I kept checking the app because I was reading about people being able to upload their card and no luck. Just figured RC didn't bother for a short cruise. Then Thursday morning when filling out the health questionnaire I was like, 'ah, there you are' lol. Am curious now to see when it will be available for our Oasis cruise in December.

The insanity of seeking reef safe sunscreen that isn't bogus/ineffective or make me look like Casper

If you use sunscreen on your face & find it difficult to remove, you may want to try the 2-step "oil cleansing" method (oil on dry face, remove, followed by your regular cleanser). This method really helps with removal of sunscreen first so your normal cleanser can do it's job.
