my wife doesn't wear womens clothes such as gowns dress slacks etc  I was wondering what she could wear for formal night that would be allowed on Carnival

hi my wife wear slacks and a polo or a button down on formal nights on all of our cruises, they are no hard rules, alot of people even wear jeans and nice shirts

  2. i was really hoping to meet a couple on here before we got on oasis ...but oh well ! im sure we will run into many people and hopefully someone with a child our sons age! ...as we have never been on RCCL anyone have any last min tips??? :D

  3. Still holding out hope that there is someone anyone on this thread that will be cruising with us this week! lol... we leave on Thursday on RCCL Oasis of the seas for 9 beautiful long days .. (me, my wife, and our 6 year old) it would be nice to have some "family" (another couple or a couple with kids) to dine with of hang out with...anyone??? :D

  4. 9 days? That's just a warmup. :)

We've done four transatlantics all longer than that (the longest was 15 nights), a Med cruise that was 12 nights, and we just got back from a 10-nighter on the Gem (NY to the Caribbean). Seriously, for us, if it's a week, it feels far too short now. :)

I hope you have a great cruise! Please come back and tell us your thoughts on Oasis.

We can't wait to do longer cruises but with a little person in tow it's just not doable yet, but as soon as we get back I will be posting as much information as I can!

  5. I'm sorry to express this again, but DCL have not offered in room sitting in the past 10 years+.

I am not calling you a liar, but think you may be mistaken as to which cruise line.

They will provide blended fruits and veggies, but do not provide baby food?

Swim diapers have been prohibited from all pools for many many years and certainly way before 2011.

They have non potty trained splash areas, puddle pools.

And a ship to shore phone? You mean an internal wireless phone to call around the ship, not ashore.

And you were provided with toy's in the pack n' play?

That is definitely not common practice.

Maybe you could describe who you booked in room babysitting with in 2011?

Was it online, was it with the nursery CM's?

How much an hour above the $9/hr the nursery charge?

I remember my cruise thank you... And unless you where on board please stop underminding my exprence. I see you used to work for Disney so nvm ... the point was its a great line but you already know that... As you have picked apart what iced said at every turn. Thanks

  6. We leave in just 13 day for RCCL oasis of the seas on a beautiful 9 long day cruise ... Me, my wife and our 6 year old. Has anyone else been on a cruise this length ? On this boat?... I was hoping to find another couple on this sailing to make Friends with before we got on !

  7. Hahaha... don't let me here screams all the way here in the Bronx!

We loved Quatum so I know what you mean about Anthem. Since then we went smaller with Carnival Liberty but luckily there were 5 port days to keep us busy.

my wife and I are going on oasis of the seas in march for a 9 day with our 5 year old.. how did you guys like the boat?

  8. my wife and I love to cruise, we are getting to go on RCI in march on OSAIS of the seas with our 5 year old son. I (femme) am 33 and my wife of 9 years is (butch) 49 we have never had a problem. I am more active I hit the gym, run, swim, and workout. she is more relaxed loves to read, people watch, relax and chill. our little one has been on Disney ( he loved it) and carnival ( not so much)

  9. This is taken from Disney's website:

If applicable, parents may bring the following when dropping off their child:

Baby food, formula or milk and bottles

Diapers or pull-ups and diaper wipes

    Extra clothing

    A baby blanket

    Pacifier

Please note that in-stateroom babysitting services are not available.

I think Twilightimp may be confusing the in room babysitting at the Disney Resorts and not on their ships.

you are correct...im sorry this was as of my information when I took the cruise in 2011 and at that point there was in room baby sitting for a fee. as we did use this service

    sorry 2011

  10. Twilightimp, I'm sure that your friendly son will enjoy meeting new friends, the staff, and activities in the Adventure Ocean Explorers group. I've heard many times that people actually miss their kids, as they meet up for dinner. :)

    EXPLORERS (AGES 6-8)

Space Mud, Fossil Fever, Meteorology Madness! Hands-on science gets young minds churning – along with explorations of the fine arts with Adventure Art and Adventure Theater. Round out the night with dancing through the decades and ice cream for all.

Also the H20 Zone waterpark and the video arcade. http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/experiencetypes/category.do?pagename=onboard_cat_kids_teens_and_families

Just wanted to mention My Family Time Dining that is offered for the first seating time in the Main Dining Room, for children ages three to 11. Kids enjoy their meal within 40 minutes of seating, before heading to the evening's Adventure Ocean activities. (They are picked up by AO staff). The program starts the second evening you're onboard. After that, you can use it each evening or whenever you wish.

You can easily pre-register online for My Family Time Dining right now. Or, visit the Adventure Ocean Youth Program area while onboard to sign up.

The Oasis also offers the Dreamworks Experience: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/contentSitelet.do?pagename=dreamworks_main&pagenameMain=main_family&discriminators=0. Have a great cruise!

thank you for that information! we will look into that program sounds like a great way for us to enjoy a meal while he gets to go have fun!

  11. Try it for a day or two - if your child (or you) aren't happy with the program, then just withdraw from it - no harm / no foul. But I think once you are on board and see the facilities and the numbers of other same age kids involved, it will be good for all of you.

Enjoy your cruise! Oasis is a great ship.

sounds good ..im sure it will be fine, im the worried one, my son will more then likey love it!

  12. Our kids grew up sailing with RCI and participated in the kids programs with the different age groups as appropriate. Our experience was very good and our kids looked forward to the program with each cruise.

The facilities are very safe and protected against anyone wandering in or out and are staffed by qualified crew with child development or other related fields and experience.

I think you have very little to worry about and I believe your kids will enjoy the program.

thank you !! I didn't worry to much on Disney because I could call, as he is our only child and as any parent does, we all worry ... I just want him to be safe and comfortable first, before I worry about myself! im looking forward to him being able to hang out with kids his age and not have to be with us the whole time.

  13. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the kids club. as this is our first time with RC I wanted to know what the 6-8 years old room was like..im a bit worried about dropping our son off for more then a few minutes alone. unlike Disney who had ship to shore cell phones in each room. I wont be able to call him and check on him, the idea of him being alone with adults and even kids on that big boat and him not being able to just call me , unlike at school or home , and mind you he is a very trusting and friendly kid worries me a lot. has anyone had there kids in this program? how did you like it? how did your kids like it? please give me all your pros and cons..thank you!

  14. [AS A PARENT WHO HAS TAKEN A CHILD ON DISNEY PLEASE PLEASE DO DISNEY!!! THEY HAVE BEAUTIFUL ADULT ONLY AREAS,,, GREAT FAMILY TIME ACTIVES ..AND YOUR BABY WILL LOVE THE NURSRY ..AND NO SHE DOES NOT HAVE TO BE POTTY TRANED TO BE LEFT IN THE NURSEY ..BUT YOU MUST PACK YOUR OWN DIAPER!!! we took our son on Disney wonder when he was just 1 years old..in fact he took his first steps on the boat! he spent a some time in the nursery, the women there are amazing! I was able use one of the ship-to-shore cell phones that come standard with your room so I could call and check on him while he was there. they even do in room baby sitting for a small few as well! some nights at dinner he would become fussy so our waiter would pack our dinner up and have it sent to our room for us so I could get him off to bed no problem! they provided a bottle warmer in room, a pack and play for him to sleep in and even toys! they have special meals for little hands as well as baby food! it gave me and my spouse time to enjoy the boat without having to worry all the time. and the baby only pool was warm and well cleaned too all she needs is a swim diaper! .... ... hand down Disney is the way to go!!!!
