Just got home from a northbound cruise. Masks must be worn on flights arriving into Vancouver, even if coming from the states. As stated already, they are required in YVR. They are also required in the cruise ship terminal.

Thanks. A question on ArriveCAN, I’m arriving on Saturday for a Sunday north bound, do we just need to do ArriveCAN one time? Also is the process at the airport fairly simple? We have never been to Vancouver and little nervous about what we need to do. Thank you so much

Woody's completely correct that the provincial mandates have dropped - but private businesses being what they are, some do still maintain mask requirements if you want to shop/eat/whatever, many still politely request but do not require. So depending on whether you're coming from a viewpoint of 'I hate having to mask and want to avoid it' or 'actually I still feel more comfortable masking up' you may want to do some research. Various threads on Reddit give lists that are decent starting points but should be checked directly with the businesses if you have a strong opinion one way or the other.

Oh, and in case you were not aware mask-wearing does remain mandatory at YVR - don't annoy the CBSA agents who can turn you back just because they're having a bad day by being adamant about your freedoms while lining up to be processed!!!!

I’m not against mask at all , just want to be prepared for whatever needs to be done. Thanks for the info

  3. We are on a HAL cruise north bound leaving 5/22 just have a few questions. What are the mask mandates in Vancouver, airport and cruise port, restaurants? Staying at Pan Pacific for one night before and have the cruise package they offer, are they still taking luggage from room to ship? Has anyone been picked for the random Covid test at the airport? I appreciate any answers or tips anyone has. Thanks

Some just don’t get it.  Masks protect others.  Some of us want to do that.  Others it’s all about me.

It’s simple if you don’t want to be around people that don’t want to protect others,as you say, stay away from them. You have a choice.

Then there have been updates since I started to complete the forms- the random tests were on it then with a link to schedule. And I had wondered about putting in the hotel- that might be even a better choice.

I don’t think it’s required to schedule a random test just recommended.  I went to that link to schedule and it’s a mess, don’t think I will. Does anyone know how many they are going to randomly test?

Why don't you link the HAL instructions, so that we can see it in its entirety. Then, try a test run and see if the app accepts your application.

P.S. Lots of good stuff at the Canadian Cruisers forum...

    ArriveCAN
Within 72 hours of your cruise embarkation, sign into ArriveCAN from a computer or download the mobile app
to enter proof of vaccination and travel information. Please bring a digital copy of the email or print your receipt. Guests not from Canada who are starting their cruise in Canada will need to complete ArriveCAN 72 hours before arrival and fill it out again within 72 hours of embarkation.          This is HAL instructions, again why do I need to fill this out twice, or is one good if within 72hrs.

  7. HAL states— Guests not from Canada who are starting their cruise in Canada will need to complete ArriveCAN 72 hours before arrival and fill it out again within 72 hours of embarkation.—-   Ok we fly into Vancouver on Saturday for one way north bound on Sunday. I fill ArriveCAN out on Friday for arrival in Vancouver, will this work for boarding cruise? Why does HAL say fill it out twice?  Thanks

We sailed on the Rotterdam earlier this month in a Neptune Suite and it had a no host mini bar. All it means is that in the mini fridge there are sodas, beer, wine, etc. that you can purchase. The room steward checks the fridge daily and you are charged for whatever is missing.

Congratulations on becoming 4* Mariners on your cruise! We made 4* on our Rotterdam cruise this month.

Is any of these drinks covered if you have  a drink package? I would think not   Thanks

I'm hoping all of this is taken off their website April 1.

Travel to Canada: Requirements for vaccinated travellers

Starting April 1, 2022, pre-entry tests will no longer be required for fully vaccinated travellers entering Canada by land, air or water. Until then, follow the pre-entry test requirements.

I think we are all reading the "Until then, follow the pre-entry test requirements"...maybe the Pre-entry test requirement will disappear April 1 and things will be more clear.

I think it’s clear. Starting April 1 no test is required to enter Canada in any form , but to board a ship and leave a one antigen test or PCR test within 72hrs. Also ArriveCAN has to be used to enter Canada.

I like this part...since we are both fully vaccinated and flying into Canada from the US.  Norwegian has a chart on their Safe Sail part of the website that explains sailing out of a Non-US port test within 3 days. So we embark on Monday, we can test on Friday before leaving Texas.

    Pre-entry testing (accepted types, timing)

Starting April 1, 2022, pre-entry tests will no longer be required for fully vaccinated travellers entering Canada by land, air or water. Until then, follow the pre-entry test requirements.

But Canada says to board ship with antigen test is one day and PCR test 72 hrs. I hope the cruise ship rules win on this . Pre-boarding a cruise ship

    • Passengers must take a COVID-19 molecular test within 72-hours before boarding a cruise ship or take an antigen test within oneday of the scheduled departure.
    • Before their cruise departs, a traveller will need to entertheir trip information into the ArriveCAN website.
