  1. Looks like Royal's port is not in the same place as Carnival port? When we went on Carnival out of San Juan we stayed right across the street from port. But if I understand correctly Royal's port is at Pan America? Where is the best places to stay close to there?

  2. Has anyone stayed at PP before departing on their cruise? We want to stay at PP and have them deliver our luggage to the ship than go do more site seeing in Vancouver. I just called the motel and they said "if we do not book the cruise package, it would depend on what type of gratuity you give the porter if he would take our luggage or not". 1) can you check in early and leave luggage on ship than go back out and explore?  2) or what I am reading they would hold our luggage until we get done site seeing? What is a better option here? The cost difference in a nightly room is $60 for cruise package vs. non cruise package.

We have always parked our car at a parking garage at the port when cruising out of Miami. Very short walk to and from the terminal.  The last time we cruised out of Miami was in May. It cost $22.00 a day to park at the port.

    Thats seems so pricey.

  4. Can anyone give me information on the parking at the port of Miami?  We have always flown in and now we are not! Is there parking right at the port and what is the cost? Or is other parking better? Or a close motel that anyone would recommend with a shuttle and we can park at the motel?

If you are planning a Denali cruisetour Holland will include the Tundra Wilderness Tour on the two and three night in Denali packages.   You need to plan a minimum of two nights at Denali National Park.  Princess frequently includes the shorter Natural History Tour and time at Mt McKinley Princess lodge (near Talkeetna)....which are not the best use of your time if you want to visit Denali National Park.

Thank you! We actually want to do at least the double Denali on Holland. That is the original plan!!

  6. Well we are going out of Puerto Rico in October on the Fascination. We do have a balcony, but the thrill for us is the itinerary, not the ships. There is so much negativity about this ship, and while it may be an older class of ship, you can still eat, drink and have fun. Hit some beautiful islands. I am very excited to be sailing out of Puerto Rico and to have two full days in Puerto Rico before the cruise is a big plus!

  7. Thanks for all the great info!! Our cruise is in October leaving Sunday night. We fly into San Juan on Friday. We have also been to San Juan before and loved it, so needed a couple extra days!! We are staying right across from the port at a Sheraton. I am going to go back and look at some of the reviews and then we will see if I have any more questions!!

  8. I am so glad I kept reading on this thread!! Everyone was really getting to me about not letting Carnival book flights. I am locked in on a flight to San Juan out of Chicago in October 2016, that is half of what the rest of my family is paying out of Indianapolis, booking themselves and weeks later than I did. I was almost ready to cancel this hold and book at a much more expensive cost. Thanks for this information. Since we are flying into San Juan 2 days early, I am not expecting many issues!!
