First cruise was in a suite on NCL's new and short lived Leeward one of only ten Balcony cabins on the ship...We were a couple of spoiled 20 somethings I guess.... But it hooked us on cruising. It was the wrong ship for us..in every way..but hearing the ocean at night while underway..and spotting flying fish by day...was priceless.. were were regulars on NCL in suites for about our first five cruises or so..till we had a real bad experience... Even back then..NCL had nice suites...

Ive probably got more pics from back then...Just dont know where they are right off hand....

    These two are from 1994/95

Heres the view from the balcony on our suite on Norway. We used to love that ship...If you remember..Norway had a couple of P2 suites...that had Balconies that looked over the rear...this is the view from ours... Cant find any pics of the room just yet..

  2. Hi Everybody...

My partner and I...Who from now on out on these boards you may see me refer to as " The Ball and Chain" LOL have been together just over 20 yrs and are going on our 14th? I think IN Mar on HAL's Nieuw Amsterdam. (hope i spelled that right) Just booked it a couple days ago...And we have ner been on HAL...SO we will see. We have mostly done caribbean cruises, but we have also done a Med cruise, and a Hawaii cruise also.

We Kinda lost the cruising bug after a lackluster experience on a couple ships.. But we had a nice time on the Eclipse, last year, so we are giving HAL a whirl this tiime...

Maybe we will see y'all aboard..!;)

  3. I totally understand.

Last year, we bought and paid for a cabin for two of our friends. We all were traveling with ID's and Birth certificates...Since we had a house fire, and our Passports were destroyed a couple years ago, and we never replaced them...

Our friends had never had passports...

AFTER I bought our cabins....for our trip in in two and half weeks... My friend who (who has no money invested in this trip btw) tells me..he's born in Canada to American service member parents...just like you...

He didnt have a regular birth certificate...

He needed a "Report of consular Birth form" or something like that....Which is what they give Americans born abroad.. Im sure you know that now...We found a list of acceptable documents on our cruise lines website (celebrity)

My friend had that original document....and he WAS permitted to sail....

The rules are the same for all the cruise lines.... you just have to do a little due dilligence...before you hand over your money or turn up at the dock...

Easy for me to say now...
