I have always looked on line to find my cruise, but have always booked with a TA. It doesn’t cost anymore to book with a good TA and they make a bit of commission, rather than the cruise line making bigger profits. She also can find me great deals on certain sailing. She has some unbelievable prices on some sailings. On the Rhapsody Transatlantic next year. I got 14 night cruise in an OV for under $1500 for two including taxes!

Use a travel agent! They don’t charge you more and they can do your research and you help them out too!

They are also charging $100/pp change fee if you change to a different ship and sail date. This is if you book at least 6 mo prior with the lowest fare and the non refundable deposit.

THERE IS NO CHARGE TO BRING WINE/CHAMPAGNE ON BOARD. Passengers may bring two 750ml bottles per stateroom per cruise.
There is a $15 corkage fee for bottles of wine/champagne brought on board and TAKEN TO THE DINING ROOM OR RESTUARANTS. THERE IS NO CHARGE TO SIMPLY BRING WINE ON BOARD.
Cheers

didn't read to the end and see that this info had already been stated. Hi Bob.
Here is the link to the article http://www.travelmarketreport.com/articles/Royal-Caribbean-Raises-Cost-Of-Bringing-Wine-Aboard

I knew about the corkage fee in public areas but I was talking about what I just read in a travel publication
Royal Caribbean International this month began charging guests a $15 corkage fee for EVERY wine or champagne bottle brought aboard.
The fee applies to any bottle brought onboard on embarkation day, regardless of where it is consumed. The fee does not apply to wine purchased from onboard meus or in ships’ gift shops.

Yes, and that happened 1500+ posts ago or can be ascertained by the various other threads on the same subject.
Unfortunately, not everyone can read every post or thread. I'm sorry I missed it somewhere along the way.

I just asked a question about something I just found out and was surprised. No need to sarcastic Cruisefan0001! I thought cruise critic is to make others aware of change too!

Have you heard the latest fee from Royal?
Royal Caribbean International this month began charging guests a $15 corkage fee for every wine or champagne bottle brought aboard.
Why all the added fees all of a sudden!

This is on rcl.com under "the experience" then click dining, then click room service
Royal Caribbean is introducing a new room service menu that features several upgraded selections including a Wagyu Beef Hamburger, Philly Cheesesteak and Grilled Salmon with Cucumber Mint Yogurt and Roasted Asparagus. The upgraded menus will start rolling out on March 27th and be available across the fleet by end of May 2017.
As part of the rollout of the new room service, a delivery charge of $7.95 per stateroom order will now apply. Continental breakfast remains complimentary and the delivery charge excludes Grand Suites and above.

Royal has a special bundle drink package and Internet right now! Savings about 25% and in the Allure free wifi with the drink package.

I just had some friends on the Harmony and they said when they arrived in Labadee that they were charging for the lounge chairs. I was surprised about this. Is this something new??

Sorry to hear about your disappointing experience. We too have noticed the lack of bar staff since the drink packages on some ships.
We just returned on the Rhapsody of the Seas transatlantic and found the same lack of bar staff around. One morning I wanted a Bloody Mary and the only bar open was the pool bar. It was sometime very difficult to get a beverage. I hope this isn't going to be the norm!

Thanks everyone for you thoughts. I'm now looking at it in a different light. I too, did not know you can cancel the package at a later date. Great info! :) Thanks Again! Happy cruising

We are cruising November 19, 2016 on the Rhapsody of the Seas 13 night Transatlantic from Malaga to Miami. The agency had group pricing and our outside stateroom is only costing $499.49/pp including taxes. (Great pricing!)We considered purchasing a drink package since we will be at sea quite a bit. The
Beer wine and soda package price looks like it is $42/day (not sure if that included the 18%gratuity) and that will cost us more than the cruise @$546/pp.
I can't see paying more for drinks than the cruise! Drinks have really gone up! We are not big drinkers but do enjoy having drinks when we cruise!
