  1. Princess must have been desperate when we received a move over offer maybe a week before the Apr 27, 2024 Med sailing of the Sun Princess. We moved to the Aug 10 Sun Princess sailing. Everything was moved (Princess Plus, OBC), EZ Air flights were rebooked by Princess to the new sailing date. They added $440 to OBC (as Customer Good Will) plus the cost of the original cruise as refundable OBC. Princess also moved us from a Penthouse Suite to an Owners Suite.

Princess also would have made it a 21 day cruise but availability was in 2025.

Bonus: Moving our Rome hotel reservation from Apr to August saved us $261.

    We are happy cruisers!

  2. We were booked on the Apr 27 Sun Princess sailing for 14 days in a Penthouse suite. We use a TA for all our cruise bookings.

We accepted the offer and received the following:

Free cruise on Sun Princess Aug 10, 14 days, same itinerary

    Cabin upgrade

All OBC moved over plus $440 Customer Goodwill added

Original Cruise fare added to OBC as refundable and a check will be issued at the end of the cruise

Since EZAir was done by Princess, they rebooked

One excursion in Rome was not refundable and Princess will reimburse us

Our excursions bought through our TA were easily canceled and rebooked for the Aug sailing

When we changed the dates on our hotel stay in Rome, the hotel rates were lower and we saved $260

    A pretty good deal! 😎

You can use Shareholder and possibly military OBC before boarding but not the rest.

Thanks, Suekel. We have both Shareholder and Military OBC on our account. I did not get an option to choose between OBC & CC. So it appears if you are off ship you make dining reservations using credit card and if you are onboard you can use OBC.

Here is the balcony. It’s a little longer because it extends past the cabin for the aft view.

IMG_0378.jpegWe are booked in 17620 on the Apr 27 sailing for 14 days. Another post had mentioned early morning noise but we are early riser and hope it doesn’t bother us. Do all the Penthouse Suites on Deck 17 have a love seat and table with 3 chairs on the balcony?

Spellbound just appearing in list of dining options!!  But it says, “coming soon” and if you try to pick a time slot it has all options 20 minutes apart which we know is not right. There will be 3 seatings a night.

    I’ll keep you all posted.

    @Sox Fan Cruiser

After seeing your post, I went to the App and Spellbound has been updated to 5:00, 6:30, and 8:00. I reserved a date and time, and the App wants to use my credit card.  I didn't confirm the reservation because I prefer to use OBC since I have enough to cover the cost. Do you or any other CC Members know if there is a way to use OBC before we are on the ship?

By the way, born in Boston grew up in southern NH. Sox fan for life!

    Thanks!

Anyone have any thoughts on picking Penthouse Suites on deck 15 vs 17?

The Penthouse Suites on deck 17 are right below The Sanctuary, which raises the question of whether these suites will be noisy when loungers are being moved around starting early in the morning.  With the large number of loungers in The Sanctuary, noise concerns may definitely be a concern if the deck 17 suites are not well sound insulated.

We were initially assigned a deck 17 Penthouse Suite on our sailing next year, but decided to move to deck 15 due to the potential noise issue.  I think the deck 15 Penthouse Suites also have the advantage of direct access to the Signature Lounge without having to take an elevator, much like the Penthouse Suites on Royal class ships.

We chose a Penthouse Suite on Deck 17. We will be in 17620 on the April 27 sailing. We usually book a stateroom that has rooms above and below. When we selected 17620, we knew the Sanctuary was above us, but since we are early risers, we didn’t think early activity would bother us. We shall see!

  7. You know I've given that a lot of thought. I can buy into the theory that you want to do the land portion first, cause you're nice and fresh and then have the 7 days to relax. But I'm not convinced thats necessarily true. Ours was not a relaxing, take it easy type of cruise. the 2 sea days, maybe. Other than that, we were up at dawn and on the go. We didn't come on this cruise to sit on the ship afterall.

So I think if I did it again, I'd do it the same exact way. Starting in Vancouver and working my my north. Each place is more spectacular than the last, so you're building up to the finale, Denali!!!!

We are doing a Northbound Cruise and Land Tour in July. We are hoping to be in the lucky 30% who get to see McKinley. Great pics. Thanks for sharing.
